The churros were very hot and fresh. $3 a churro seems a tad steep, but they were worth it. They are pretty good size. It did take about 10+ mins for the churros to be ready. They were worth the wait. The girl behind the register was friendly and informed us what all the fillings were since they were in Spanish. That was much appreciated. There is plenty of indoor seating. I almost got a coffee too as those looked really good. We will absolutely be back next time we're in Ensenada.

Total came out to about $13. Churros were good but very comparable to ones you can get in most places in Southern California. It was my first time trying a filled churro so that was a fun treat. They make everything fresh so you have to wait about 10 min for the order to come out. The latte was really sweet. It was good but didn't taste like the horchata lattes I normally get at home. Cafe was very clean and spacious. There's several tables throughout the store and also an upstairs seating area. There's also a restroom available and free WiFi as well.

Google informed us there was a nearby ice cream shop but when we went at the time (not sure if it is changed) the location moved. We decided to go to a different ice cream shop since we couldn't find this one and we randomly stumbled upon it . It is down the street from Papa and Beer. It feels like it is off the tourist area so be careful . We were very vigilant as there was A LOT of police activity going on . We have been walking for A LONG time trying to find a cool treat for a hot day and this place hit the spot. The young man who served us used to be in Texas but family moved back to Ensenada for better opportunities. The ice cream shop looks new inside. As they moved locations. It was cool inside and we were so grateful for him as we were burnt. Remember to bring small bills. All we had was a $20 bill which we only ordered two items and didn't mind this family owned business to keep the change. He was very surprised and very appreciative and asking us if we were sure as the ice cream came to $8. Seriously a steal. We were more than sure. We felt safe inside. But dreading the walk back to our cruise boat. Overall, definitely hit this place up if you are wanting authentic delicious Mexican ice cream. The dude and I loved this place! Can't wait to come back.

When ordering a local told me everything is good here and the place was filled, which is always a good sign when trying a new place. Staff was friendly and prices were great. My friend and I tried a few baked goods - some cookies and a brownie and we loved it all. The brownies reminded me of ones my mom used to make with powdered sugar on top. It's an adorable little coffee and pastry shop with outdoor seating, and next door is a Thrifty's ice cream shop (closed when we went by). There are fresh flower bouquets for sale out front. Inside, there is a beautiful selection of cakes, pastries, and fresh breads, as well as coffees, sandwiches and breakfast entrees. There are a few tables inside, and would make a great place to dine with friends or do some work. I picked up some pastries and they were all great, and the Iced Coco Mate Latte was creamy and delicious and not too sweet. Staff was friendly, and I got by with my mediocre high school Spanish. There is limited street parking, but well worth any walk you may need to make to arrive. When you walk in, you are transported into a welcoming, quiet and beautiful haven away from the bustle of the street. They have decorated with a unique combination of antiques, whimsical and folk art, both elegant and rustic. There are potted plants, a fountain in the patio, many display cases with jewelry for sale. You can enjoy specialty coffees, refreshing drinks, exquisite desserts or a hearty meal in one of the multiple sitting areas, dining rooms, cozy nooks, the patio, or upstairs. I only had a cappuccino, but I was there with a group, and I saw some of the desserts and entrees they ordered and apparently really enjoyed. My cappuccino was delicious. Prices are competitive and the portions are generous. The table service was friendly, and though with a group the size of ours, there was opportunity for confusion, but the server got it all accurately. We had a very pleasant time, and I would certainly return if given the chance, even if just to explore and admire all the unusual decor.

I'd say my favorite were the orange, lemon and coconut. They were all so smooth and rich! Unfortunately, what I actually ended up purchasing wasn't quite as satisfying. Chocolate was consumed as a bitter drink in Meso-America for thousands of years before Europeans discovered it around the time of Columbus and Cortes. In this shop you can try chocolate in its bitter, liquid form. You can also have "normal" chocolate and coffee drinks, along with cakes and desserts, like chocolate flan. There are also chocolate bars for purchase, but they are very expensive (About $8 per bar) Workers all speak excellent English, and there is a lady whose name i've forgotten that explains where chocolate comes from and lets you try cacao beans and bits of unsweetened chocolate. The proceeds from the shop are used to fund education for impoverished indigenous children in the south of Mexico (i think it was the Oaxaca region).
