I've also picked up a redbean butter salt bread here to share too. Tasty bread! Needless to say, redbean and butter are both definitely apparent; they really load it on, including maybe $2 worth in the butter slab itself. I've realized I'm not the target customer to order a STICK OF BUTTER with my breads. Big props for being so generous though, I'm sure the butter lovers would kill for it. With their popularity and coziness, they do unfortunately have a laptop time limit if you planned to do some work or studying here. I'd definitely want to come back for a chill catch-up with a friend and try their other salt breads :)

The Spanish latte was also nice. The Dubai strawberry is a MUST! So delicious which is probably why there is a limit to how many can be purchased. I will say many people came in with scowls because there werent open seats. So be aware it is a very small shop. Which i love. The service was good. The staff was friendly. Some of the grumpy people wanting a seat; did complain to the staff and the staff were very patient with them. We ordered two pastas a coffee and cookies for dessert. My carbonara was sensational one of the best pastas I've had in vancouver. Very well balanced. Excellent flavour profile. My friend also loved her meal and said her coffee was also one of the best shes ever had. My small jam cookie was delicate and sweet. Very impressed. The atmosphere definitely added to the experience. Rainy day and a warm pasta shop. Tables alive with conversation. (The only downside was the washroom definitely left things to be desired. Its understand that in a small space it can be very hard to have everything be aesthetic.) The staff and atmosphere otherwise very charming. Made me homesick for Montreal. The fresh made foccacia was amazing. It had plenty of mayo and arugula which paired perfectly with the creamy mortadella. She got the ube latte which I also tried and thought it was delicious as well! The little shop is a order at the counter type situation and there is minimal seating inside. The seating was reminiscent of those little Vietnamese market stalls where you sit around on stools with boxed crates as your table. I'd love to pass by this spot again and give it another try!

I love love love this place!…read more Nestled within a residential area, it is a gem of a quaint neighborhood cafe! The vibes are great. Neighborhood atmosphere, small seating, French artisan vibes. The perfect hole in the wall for a causal hang out to catch up or grab a small bite. The food is amazing. I highly recommend the ham and cheese crepe or their ham sandwich. Dark chocolate infused with cinnamon star anise, black pepper and orange zest. Service with Takoyaki Croissant. I had the pho spice hot chocolate last year, I remember the last year one flavor was more stronger. This year's one was subtle and I could not taste much savory flavor in. It was a just regular hot chocolate. If this was a regular hot chocolate, it tasted good, however, if it was pho spice one, not really impressive . Takoyaki croissant was very unique. I enjoyed that croissant with Vegetable, Mayo and sauce on the top. Actually, highlight was cafe royal tart. - A flaky puff pastry tart filled with silky milk-and-coffee cream, topped with a rich caramel flan for a smooth, aromatic café-style treat. This is not hot chocolate festival item. Cream caramel on the top of crispy Pie tart caught my eye. Cream caramel was very delicious and coffee cream filling was really good. Pie tart's dough was super crispy and buttery. I really loved this item.

It's not my first choice as study/work cafe because I prefer cafes with quiet corners with outlets or relaxing soft music and I find this spot has more of a hipster ambiance and is more ideal as a chill place for hanging out. Hmm, maybe come here to reply work emails but why overwork here when its vibes are set for unwinding ;-) There are side street parking available -- being able to park close by is a plus. Cafes in location with free parking options are the best, so you can buy items to go or you can choose to stay and relax, without the hassles of metered parking expiring and getting parking tickets. I actually did some digging and self reflection before writing this as this was some weeks back that I tried to sit with my initials reaction. Popped in around 3pm on a weekday as I was in the area to pick up an americano and some pastries. The 5 minutes that I was around the counter and the interaction between myself and staff (one barista and one cashier) was odd. I made myself sit in a corner to sit with my own feelings post interaction. I'm not going to spend more time ruminating that encounter in detail. However, if one googles the signs and ideology of what a hipster is. I've received pure negative stereotype of a hipster. I found the cashier to me cold and smidge condescending, the barista didn't even acknowledge me, ignored my question and is clearly not deaf or blind when he was calling other patrons drink orders out. This poor Canadian even muttered an accidental thank you when I picked up my drink out of habit. That last one is one me. My 1st world problem of "to be me and be kind to others or straight out be reactionary when put in such situation is going to have me ready for my next battle with a passive aggrissive hipster at their work. ding ding let the battle commence. I'm ready.
