I am always sort of hesitant to buy Groupons for services like these because I feel like maybe you aren't getting the best possible treatment (whether it be a hair cut, lashes, wax...etc). I purchased the Groupon and called immediately as I had been waiting to get lashes for FOREVER!!! The woman was super nice when I made the appointment and asked me to come in a few minutes early to fill out some paperwork. I showed up and the place is like a salon with a few private rooms for lash extensions. I filled out the paperwork and was quickly escorted to a back room by a eyelash tech. She never asked me what kind of lashes I wanted, or how long I wanted them or anything -- I know now those should have been asked. I was totally new at this, so I didn't know what to expect (shame on me for not researching!). I laid down on a waxing bed for almost two hours, stiff paper under my eyes, closed with tweezers poking around (kind of nerve wracking!). After about the hour and a half mark, I got incredibly uncomfortable. I think that goes for anyplace you go....two hours is a long time to lay still on a table. Anylashes, she did ok....pricked me only a few times (which is amazing, do you see how small those tweezers are!??). When it was done, my lashes looked good, but they didn't look real. They totally looked fake - really long and too many lashes. She gave me some tips to keep them up, which would have been nice if the lashes held up like she said they would. My lashes constantly got tangled, pricked my eyes, sometimes when I closed my eyes, they would tangle and I would have to get in front of a mirror to untangle. I called about a week after dealing with this to see if this was normal, they said no and to come and they would fix. The woman who fixed them was really nice and did a great job fixing them, however, they were still incredibly long and just to much! I really wanted these to work, but after my second fill and my eye lids now starting to swell from all the constant untangling and brushing, I went to another lash place and had them taken off. I never got any complements on my lashes either, if anything sometimes I got funny looks like "who is this girl kidding with those lashes!". I dunno what to tell you, there were lots of people getting lashes done the times I was there, but maybe they were Groupon-ers too?! After getting my lashes fixed twice, I just couldn't pony up the $65 (every 3 weeks) for a mediocre fill any longer....part of me thinks I might have had a better experience had I been asked what kind of lashes I wanted in the beginning....

I should've known when I saw this place on Groupon and there was an opening on the same day. I went for a full set eyelash extension (I've had them about a year back). I thought to myself, "How bad could this realllllly get? One place couldn't be that much worse than another right???" Oh, how definitely wrong! Please DO NOT pay full price to go here. Don't go here at all in general. Upon completion I could tell there was a lot of glue straggling as a lot of my upper lashes were glued to my bottom ones when I tried to open my eyes. She spent a significant part of my session just trying to cut my top lashes from my bottom to get my eyes open. I was worried that I had gone to one of those places that would make you blind from the glue application!!! The worst part of all however, are my lashes. My lashes are in all sorts of directions, some are curled up, some are pointing down, some are just curly. They are not in the natural lash growing path. I can tell the grow-out process is going to be horrible. Time to find a new salon to fix this horrible job. Highly disappointed.

They informed me that they are open one Saturday a month so I made sure to grab up a time quick! Upon walking in, the waiting room is small. But it's a small facility that only takes about 3 clients at a time so there's no need for a massive waiting room. Not to mention all you do is fill out a document and you're on your way. I read through the document because I hate when they grab you in the fine print with something sneaky. There was nothing out of the ordinary. Just your standard warning that skin may turn red, cancelations not made 24 hours before require a charge, etc. Pretty standard. I looked to see if there was anything about tipping. I didn't see anything so I made sure to remember to tip before I left. Barbara was the one who did my facial and microdermabrasion. She was so incredibly sweet. I actually fell asleep at one point because I was so relaxed with the music, smells and feeling of the facial procedure. The whole thing took about an hour. When I got done Barbara handed me a mirror to look at my skin. It looked awesome! The tone was even and my skin looked so refreshed! I am very happy with my results and I would definitely recommend this place.

I happened to be in this area and in desperate need of a mani/pedi. Naturally I turned to Yelp for direction, and found myself becoming overwhelmed once again. Something drew me to this place, in spite of the lack of reviews. I walked out feeling very thankful I took a chance. A few things really stand out about this place. 1. No smell of harsh chemicals. 2. Quaint, quiet, cozy, comfy. 3. No annoying massage chairs that really don't fit my body or relax me in any way. The setup here is something I have never seen before. There is a long bench with cushions and pillows for you to sit on, and the sinks are built into a base below. 4. Very small place with only maybe 8 sinks for feet and 2-3 places for hands. 5. Christian music playing and Bible verses on the walls. (Being a Christian, I liked this) 6. Inexpensive. 40 bucks for a mani/pedi. Yes please! This place is nothing short of relaxing. A special little hole in the wall where the people are sweet and do a fantastic job. Very clean. Very quiet. You even get a shoulder/neck rub while your nails are drying. I found a gem!

I held off on posting a review, but I truly believe that people should know what they are walking…read moreinto when they go to this salon. I found Myra on Instagram. I was impressed by the photos that I saw and with all the followers she has. She has over 13k followers so my assumption was that she must be great. First impression on the overall look of the salon: When I walked through the salon, I was thinking it was going to be really nice inside since it's inside of the America's Plaza Building, but I was wrong. These stylists charge a lot of money for each client. You would think they would decorate their work space nicely but it was like an average hole in the wall place. It wasn't clean or organized. Meeting with Myra: My appointment was on April 13th at 12pm with Myra. I arrived on time, because I didn't want to be late. Myra indicates on her website that she charges late fees. When I got up stairs to see Myra, I greeted myself to her. She wasn't welcoming as she was occupied with another client. She told me she was running late and asked me to sit down. She was still working on two other client's hair. It wasn't until 12:55 when she finally got started on my hair. She asked me how I wanted my hair AFTER we already chatted about what I wanted on our instagram messages. I sent her very detailed pictures of what I wanted. I wanted bayalage with a lot of dimension that included baby lights. After refreshing her memory and showing her the pictures of my hair goal, she told me that she doesn't do highlights/baby lights. I was really upset to hear that. I wish she had told me that before I booked my appointment. Then she pressured me into getting an ombré melt since I wanted to go lighter. I had brassy yellow tones in my hair. She recommended that I should do the ombré first then go back and do the bayalage after I'm more blonde. I kept having to tell her no, because ombré isn't my style at all! She finally said ok to bayalage but instead of listening and helping me go lighter than what I already was, she ended up giving my hair a full 360 and took me darker. My hair was more blonde with my last session with a previous hair stylist than what I ended up with after getting my hair done with Myra. I didn't think going lighter would've been that difficult since I was already lighter on the bottom. She said she toned my hair and the silver linings all throughout my hair would eventually be my lighter blondes within 48 hours. It's been a week and a half and my hair is still very dark and those silver streaks didn't turn lighter. Myra did not deep condition or wash my hair good after coloring it. Myra's coworker rinsed the product off my head with cold water. I then sat on the chair with water dripping down my neck waiting to get blow dried for another 30 minutes. They did not wrap my wet hair with a towel. I ended up getting dye all over my face since the water from my hair kept dripping all over my face and Myra's coworker didn't wash out all the products from my hair. It was literally a rinse and squeeze session! Customer service: Myra did not provide excellent customer service at all. For someone that charges $300, I was expecting top customer service and one on one experience. She never talked to me unless it was to tell me to go to the rinse chair or back to the original chair. Instead, Myra chatted up a storm with her coworker about how much fun they had the night before. She arrived to work with a major hangover hence why she was running behind on time. I should've ran the moment I hear she was hung over. The girls talked about so many different guys. They talked about weed, dicks, being drunk, sex, and overall joked about a lot of unprofessional stuff. Work is a professional environment not a place to goof around. I truly felt that she was so involved into carrying conversations with her coworker that she didn't pay enough attention to my hair. She rushed my bayalage. She wanted to do ombré melt so it would be easier and quicker. She even JOKED about how tired she was and that if someone wanted to go blonde that she would say they look better brunette only because blonde requires more work. I was really shocked when I heard that because I had an appointment hoping to get more blonde in my hair and of course that didn't happen! Go figure! Myra never asked personal questions or tried getting to know me. She was busy chatting with her coworker. I was never offered any water after sitting there for 4 hours. You would think that if you are paying for a $300 service that you would at least have water bottles to offer your clients, but not at this place. If you expect one on one service do not go here. Myra will be working on 3 girls at the same time and juggling around all of them. Myra doesn't care if her clients return back to her or not. All she cares about is money. I didn't want to tip at all, but I still ended up tipping $40 on top of the $300 service charge since her coworker helped with my hair.
