I highly recommend "Pam for Paws" for dog training. She worked with my female Doberman puppy beginning when she was 8 1/2 weeks old (?). Pam was very kind, and very patient while my pup and I learned her training techniques. My Dobie is now 11 months old, and I always get so many compliments about how well-behaved and smart she is. When I decided to get another companion pup for my Dobie, I once again turned to Pam for early training, this time with a nine week old female golden retriever, who is almost 9 months old now. The result is, I now have two exceptionally well-trained pups that are admired by everyone we meet. They are both happy, and love to meet other people and play with other dogs. As they mature, I am sure they will get better and better from the solid training foundation they received with Pam. She is a great trainer, and a wonderful person to work with. Both dogs adore her, and so do I! Both of my dogs have stayed with her at her home for several nights for training and came home happy and advanced every time. We found Pam on Yelp because of all of her positive reviews and couldn't have been happier with outcome. She helped us mold our 3 month old Rottweiler/Lab Reggie into a well behaved dog. When she first came out the only trick he could do was sit and bite us, by the time our lessons were over he could sit, lay, shake, roll over and more. Beyond the training she provides you a lot of invaluable knowledge about how to raise a well rounded dog. One of the things my wife and I liked the most is she understands not everyone wants a robot like police dog and tailors her training to how you want the dog to behave. Pam is the greatest! I have a 7 month old german shepherd rescue puppy, Shiloh, and she has helped dog sit and use positive reinforcement for basic training. We have a 5 1/2 month old Wire Fox Terrier. Pam has helped us tremendously in training her. We recently finished the Puppy Package of 5 lessons and notice a big difference in comparison to when we first brought her home at 12 weeks. Pam is calm, incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and patient. My husband and I donated blankets and towels to the HB animal shelter, and came home with a dog!!!!! OMG We did not have a game plan to introduce our 10lb dog to our 10lb cat, and we screwed it up bad in the beginning. The dog was chasing the cat, it was not pretty, and we were desperate for help. I called 7 different trainers and received voice mail at each call, except when I called Pam. She answered the phone and I told her how we messed up. She gave me suggestions and was in my home within hours showing us what to do and how to do it, and what not to do. She spent 1.5 hours with us, and the tools she gave us has help immensely. We can't thank her enough. We are still working on it, as this takes time, but we see great improvements. Absolutely 5 stars. I was traveling down to OC and after a plan for dog sitting fell through I was in a pinch, needing a last-minute boarding solution for my dog Precious. I called Pam and she called me back within a half hour and was willing to take in my dog even though she usually boards dogs a bit smaller than mine. She kept my dog in her own home, not in some kennel outside or in a room by herself. She made a point that she doesn't leave the dog alone, and even cancelled another plan she had so she could watch my dog. All in all, she was VERY accommodating, obviously went out of her way to help me out, and even showed my husband and me some tips for training Precious some new tricks! When we arrived for pick up, Precious was happy to see us but you could tell she was totally happy being there and wasn't nervous or anxious to get out. Needless to say, I would recommend Pam to anyone needing dog boarding. read more

This review is for Kris Welk who works with Pam. I am a nervous nelly when it comes to leaving my dogs, let alone leaving them in the care of a stranger and letting them in my house. I first met Kris at the dog park and she was great, very personable and my dogs loved her. We communicate for awhile about possible needs for dog walking. When I was getting ready to go for a trip last minute, I called Kris. She came over to make sure she knew where everything was, food, medicine, leashes, etc. I called Pam before I left, a nervous wreck asking her what if someone stole my stuff. She assured me how well she liked Kris and went over her insurance. From the moment I left, I was out at ease, all do to Kris. She came twice a day to walk my dogs, feed them and give them love. She followed up each visit with texts, pictures and videos and that made me so happy to know my babies were ok. She took the time and attention to make sure my finicky poodle ate his food, instead of just letting his big brother eat it. All I can say is I am so happy with Kris. I cannot say enough about how much care she took with my dogs and how well she did. I am so impressed. My house was exactly how I left it and my dogs were happy, which is all that matters. Pam came to work with our 2 and a half year old Siberian Husky rescue and us today, and she was absolutely wonderful! Very knowledgeable, fun to work with and she has the best positive attitude that inspires confidence in our ability to build the right sort of relationship with our pup. We have a new 2 1/2 month old puppy last Thanksgiving. She is a toy poodle and such an adorable puppy. We wanted to get her started with basic training and other tricks. I went to Yelp to find someone that we can really trust and effective in training our poodle. I found Pam4paws in yelp and has great reviews. Pam is hands down an amazing, knowledgable, gentle and kind person. she is so down to earth and compassionate about dogs. She worked with my teacup yorkie (Mocha) when I first got her and I had absolutely NO idea what in the world I was doing. We have an 8.5 month old black lab who is sweet as can be but VERY excitable! She jumped on people when they walked in the door and yanked on the leash to the point that taking a walk with her was more of a chore than a fun activity. Pam did 4 in-home sessions with us and we immediately started to see improvements. She gave us the tools to respond in dog-language and we made real progress. 2 weeks ago, we had to leave for a family vacation and our dog-sitter fell through. I have had Pam come out twice for my dog and both time we have months of homework (really, it is a lifelong effort) which is perfect. One or two training sessions can set you on a lifelong path of success with your dog training. I recently found a puppy on the side of the road, and the expenses were too much to have a trainer come out right away. Pam has answers about 8 of my emails so far, and encouraged me to contact her again with questions and for advice. She is an amazing person who obviously has a deep passion for animal wellbeing. I've never had her out for sessions for the new puppy, but she was able to help me both with ideas for the new puppy, and for addressing my grumpy older dog to her presence... all over email. The older dog knows right away that it is time to work on impressing everyone as soon as she arrives. It's almost creepy how he knows why she is there, her presence demands their attention and she can communicate perfectly with dogs.
