I asked the best way to get updates and if picture updates were able to be done. I was told to text their number they had previously contacted me with as long as it's before 9 pm. I texted the number the first afternoon after I dropped my dog off and didn't receive a response until the following day. I again requested picture updates which I was told they would send some, however I never received any during my dogs week long stay. My dog also came home with multiple scabs on all 4 legs and hot spots on his paws and between his back legs. I have boarded my dog at multiple kennels/doggy daycare and he has not come home with these type of scabs and hot spots before which I know can be from stress. The price was the best I had found and convenient location for living south of Olathe which were the positives of his stay.

We've been using Mystic Acres for about 9 years now & couldn't be more happy with the service they…read moreprovide. The scheduling process is easy (online or by phone), they are quick to get back with you, the facility is ultimately clean, pens have indoor/outdoor access, offer other services while your pet stays, and the facility is located on the property of their residence. I understand those are all things a person "expects" when dropping your pet off, but what I think also separates this place from the others is the peaceful country setting, the professional/kind/caring owners (never have seen anyone working there other than Jay/Stacey (owners) (occasionally their children when they lived there)), and the fact that once we start getting close to Springhill to drop off, our dog starts to get SUPER excited to go back to Mystic Acres! Thank you for always taking good care of Piper!

I've been here a handful of times since I've moved to the area. Most recently, I purchased a…read moreharness for a dog I'm fostering. I was told if he wore it and it didn't fit, they would accept it back as long as I had the receipt and tag. I bought it on a Wednesday and attempted to return it on a Friday. He wore it once for a long walk and I removed it when I came home. It didn't fit him well and seemed too snug for continued use, specifically around his neck. Somehow on our walk it became frayed on the underside. I tried to exchange it with the intention of buying one of the nicer harnesses. I was told they would be unable to resell it bc "he must've chewed it up". Which didn't happen. He only had it on for the walk and was taken off when we got back. I was told it wasn't too small then and we can't resell it". People are constantly saying to support local businesses. Return policies like this make it difficult when big stores like petco or petsmart will exchange with 0 hassle. For a store that is empty every time I've been there, I would think they'd be more understanding and relaxed in an exchange, especially considering I was going to spend more money than the first time I was there.

When we moved to the Kansas City area we drove past this place and stopped in to see what it was all about. We bought a 25lb bag of the 21% fat (that's the lowfat) dog food. It's specifically designed for dogs age 7+ and has a very small pebble that is easier on older teeth. Molly eats it up! Three years later we are still feeding her exactly that. Great value for the price too! They have everything from horse feed, to bird seed, rawhide treats and oodles more stuff but keep in mind this is not the place to find pet toys, pet beds or fancy accessories!
