It's awful and the entire building area smells musty! If you have things stored there, check on them right away! I can only imagine how awful it could have been if I hadn't gone in that day. I have always been very pleased with the customer service by the young woman in the office. She is personable and very responsive -- she is not the problem. When I found the mold, I called and left a message and was later told by the on sight person that her manager had approved two canisters of Damp Aid. Really? That's it? Then I was told that, unless I purchased their insurance (which I did not), that my homeowners insurance would have to cover the damage. When I personally went to the office the next day, I was told that the temperature in the building had been changed by 10 degrees and that was when the issues began. The owner is responsible! Beyond the actual price of items that have been damaged, there has been damage to photos and other keepsakes that simply had to be trashed. And that's in addition to all the frustration and additional work. I will never again recommend this storage facility.

Our POD was delivered on schedule to the Middletown location (actually a day earlier than the estimate I was given). I called ahead a few days ago to ask if I could access the contents of my POD and was able to schedule it later in the week to go retrieve my items. At least for this location, the PODs can be accessed between 8am-3pm. When you arrive, you can call the number on the front door and someone will come help move your POD storage box outside with a lil truck--just make sure you bring your key! The manager (whose name I believe was Jim) was super helpful the day my dad and I tried to access my POD. We struggled to open up the pull gate (some furniture had moved in transit and jammed the door) and Jim helped us even push the box open and troubleshoot. Moving is extremely painful, so we were super grateful for his help!

We chose the portable on-demand storage unit when we received a better quote from Mr. Sandman, our floor refinishing company, for doing both rooms simultaneously. We needed a place to store furniture for about one month until both jobs were completed. Hubby ordered a POD delivery for about one month to get us through the painting and floor work. The POD stored large pieces of our furniture from the two rooms. The cool part of the POD storage is the delivery and pickup of the unit. POD utilizes a hydraulic lift system called POD Zilla to lower the unit and load it back onto the truck when your contract ends. Please note that a permit is required to park the storage unit on the street near our property. We live in an older home; our garage is detached and on the back of our property. PODS Middletown, thank you for ensuring that the delivery and pick-up of our unit went smoothly.

This experience was outstandingly horrible. Really impressive how terrible this company made things…read morewithout us realizing it until it was over. Poor management of dishonest, lazy, disrespectful and manipulative employees. That's how they operate. Here is an itemized list of the issues we had: 1. Our goods had to be put in storage for 2 weeks because they arrived a week before we did and the company couldn't deliver them until a week after we arrived. It was a busy moving season so it was annoying but understandable. But, because some items weren't packed properly to begin with and then they were put into storage and left for 2 weeks we ended up with thousands of dollars' worth of damage. Waiting to see how much of that we get back with how this company's shifty employees try to skirt the standards. 2. When we went to put in the claim the first time, about 6 weeks later our items were still showing as in transit so we couldn't make a claim. 3. Not sure how they are connected to the company that packed us to start but that was also a nightmare we didn't see coming until unloading. Several items were not packed or wrapped and got destroyed or seriously damaged in the loading, unloading, storage, and unloading. 4. The crew that came to unpack was only 3 people. We have always had at least 5 or more people unloading and unpacking. Some moving companies will even send over 10 people. It was clear by the end of the day they thought they were only unloading even though we were entitled to a full unpack if we wanted. I'll get to that insanity later. 5. The crew left several pieces and boxes saran wrapped that should have been taken out of the wrap, and put together. 6. The parts box was still half full when they left. Several items were not put together at all, which is something that was paid for. 7. Furniture was assembled incorrectly and missing parts. The crew member putting the furniture together didn't bother to tell us they couldn't find all of the parts of an item and left a dangerous situation for our small children. 8. One of the crew members started complaining about how tired he was near the end of the day and I found him laying on my child's bedroom floor while he watched another crew member put the previously mentioned item together incorrectly. 9. I'll say it was my fault for not seeing the fine print that said "we are entitled to a full unpack to the customer's satisfaction". I should have been more diligent inspecting their work, but I was under the wrong impression that these were professionals. We were not satisfied. We should have had a full unpack with 100% respect for our items. We paid for a complete unpack and when we asked for it the crew lead said that they would just dump the box contents on the floor and it would take 3-5 more hours after they had been there for about 10 hours already. We said we wanted it and they proceeded to do exactly that. Dumped a bunch, but not all of boxes on our floors and only in 1 hour. There were still so many unopened boxes after this incredibly disrespectful hour. They did not finish and didn't even ask for me to verify. At this point I was the only one at home with them and unable to do a proper look around to verify the unpack. Several boxes were left untouched, while we had to wade through the piles they dumped just as they said they would. 10. When we asked for the unpack, the tired and lazy crew member copped an attitude and broke an item as he was unpacking not to my satisfaction. 11. They refused to put together one item and said a third party would call to set up an appointment to put it together. I put it together in 20 min. Never received a call from said third party. So they are also liars. Maybe we got unlucky with our crew. Another crew came to pick up boxes we had unpacked ourselves because the first crew were dishonest in their 100% unpack to our satisfaction. This second crew seemed far more put together and helpful. It was just a short period of time I spent with them, so who knows what a full day would have been like. We have heard about several other bad experiences with this company so it wasn't just our "luck" of the draw.

We just received our household goods overseas which were packed by this crew in York, PA. My deceased grandmother's (who raised me) food processor and mixer were just dumped into a box with random other items WITH ZERO PACKING- NO WRAPPING, NO PADDING, NOTHING. A dirty dog mat was thrown in with BAKEWARE; breakable decor thrown into boxes with ZERO PACKING. Honestly, I have had "white glove delivery" services before, and Mt. Everest services raises that bar! Even after they had placed the piano where I wanted it, they didn't leave until it was thoroughly checked over, played, and that I was happy. Their pricing was extremely fair, and actually the best price I found, considering the amount of stairs to my house. What really impressed me was the level of knowledge and extreme organization in getting it done so quickly! I was simply amazed in watching them disassemble/move/reassemble so large and heavy, yet delicate! Not one scratch!! Add a door too small to fit and a rotten sunken floor and it seemed impossible. They came and reinforced the floor, took the wheel base off the safe and squeezed her out that door, down the street and into their trailer.
