Sometime over the holidays, I strained my lower back to the point where sitting, and even sleeping would cause a soreness and stiffness. After a few sessions, I was sleeping through the night and back on the Peloton. I believe my strain, which could've taken weeks to heal, was noticeably better in a remarkably shortened period because of Lynn's treatment. I also, recently, had my first massage ever at Palmgren and Angelique, like Lynn, is not only very skilled, but is also someone who listens, evaluates, and does a great job explaining their methods and recommendations. I am a big fan of Palmgren Acupuncture, which has been a literal lifeline for me for 2.5 years. My acupuncturist, Kholood, is a gifted healer as well as a trained Registered Nurse. I cannot begin to sing enough praises for this group. I went in with sciatic paid so bad that it lasted for months and I was on a cane. Treatment is holistic so Lynn takes into consideration your thoughts, concerns, and physical symptoms as well. I came to Palmgren for treatment for anxiety and trouble sleeping. I'm sure treatments are tailored to each patient but for me it was a combination of Chinese herbs and acupuncture. I definitely noticed an improvement in my symptoms. Lynn was recommended to me by one of her former teachers at the acupuncture college downtown. I like her and I think she has helped me quite a lot. She is young-ish, settled in this area, and shares her practice with her husband, so I feel confident they are here for the long haul (my previous two acupuncturists retired and/or left town). Lynn has treated me primarily for issues related to menopause and for a sore shoulder/bicep issue of mysterious origin. She has also given me a lot of really excellent advice on nutrition, including a list of recommended foods and teas. Last summer I was diagnosed with migraines with auras (weird and scary vision disturbances), but of course I couldn't get in to see a neurologist for 2.5 months. Lynn and Nick are fantastic...kind, good listeners, and understanding. I visited recently because I was having trouble sleeping, and after discussing the issue for 20 minutes or more, Lynn performed cupping and acupuncture on me. She also gave me vitamins and herbs. I felt so relaxed after the visit, and my sleep improved. After the second treatment, I noticed even more improved sleep. I've been visiting Nick for almost a year for acupuncture services, and I highly recommend him. He's helped me with a number of ailments: anxiety, shoulder pain, and now pregnancy discomfort. After reading the reviews,I thought I would give acupuncture a try. It was my first time and I was very open minded. Lynn seemed nice. Went in told her my symptoms she diagnosed me with liver congestion applied acupuncture and sold me a treatment. As soon as I left there I felt sick which I mentioned to her she said I should feel better the next day but instead felt worse ( got heart palpitations, couldn't breathe ) Unfortunately this not only cost me $200. but also a trip to the ER- I got severely sick, felt I was dying. When I left her a message of how bad I was feeling, she never followed up to see how I was doing nor to offer me an apology. This experience made me feel very skeptical and paranoid about alternative treatment. read more

After much skepticism I decided to give acupuncture a try. For years I've dealt with sensitive skin issues including hives, eczema, and rashes. Every dermatologist I visited gave me creams, steroids and antibiotics to combat the issue. These were never a solution to my skin problem. Unbelievably, after suffering from severe seasonal allergies for 18 years, I am off all medication and am almost symptom free. After just 1 treatment, my symptoms cleared up. Using the offered FREE ear acupuncture for only 15 minutes, Nick reduced my vertigo considerably! Now I'm not saying Nick is a miracle-worker, but he is two for two with me.
