With Achalasia the motility of the esophagus does not work right and the sphincter is too tight. All the food and liquid comes back up and you can't sleep at night from cough up white foamy stuff. My life force dwindled. I tried homeopathy, acupuncture (with a different doc), and all sorts of energetic healing for a year. With western medicine my choices were surgery or dilatation of the sphincter of the esophagus. In 2010 I was referred to Dr. Zhijiang Chen (CJ) DAOM, L.Ac.. After his consult, I decided to do TCM with him and do the dilatation of my sphincter. Most of my treatment has been with herbs and diet and he brought me back to life where my symptoms are gone. Now he still helps me manage the Achalasia (which is chronic disease) with herbs. I can eat most anything except spicy foods and live a normal life. And I believe these herbs will prevent me from getting a more dibiliating disease. I highly recommend Dr. CJ.

In 1 week of following his strict regulation of what I ate, and did NOT, eat, I was able to experience my first "normal" digestive week in years! I no longer must be a victim of my aging body! I give him my total trust to care for my health in ways that Western medicine rejects, because they are not taught natural healing in med. school. He's a patient, kind, and compassionate dr.

After I learned she's both a medical doctor (MD) and a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, I scheduled my first appointment with her. She's been my primary doctor ever since. I recently saw her for my annual physical, and, as always, I came away with a detailed, mutually-agreed upon plan for staying on top of my key health priorities. That's one of the things I most appreciate about Dr. Wu: she strategizes with me on my health plan. She's a mindful listener, giving me the opportunity to fully explain my symptoms and health concerns. That's followed by discussion of her treatment recommendations, and she consistently checks-in to get my feedback on those recommendations. So I always feel I'm being presented with treatment options, not directives. The end result: a solid plan for my ongoing good health. In addition to this partnership in health, I genuinely feel Dr. Wu embodies all of the best qualities of a great doctor: patience, intelligence, in-depth knowledge, active listening, high-energy, and a congenial bedside manner. And she does all of this while combining the best of Western and Eastern healing practices in a holistic manner. A terrific person and a talented healer, I highly recommend Dr. Wu.

When I first began working under Dr. Allison Rodgers' exceptional care at Fertility Centers of…read moreIllinois in May 2019, she suggested that I compliment my treatment by seeing an acupuncturist in Wheaton. She said, "I don't know what he does but it works. What do you have to lose?" That acupuncturist was Peter Harvey at Eastern Healing. Fast forward to September 2020, after multiple canceled FETs due to poor response and thin lining issues, Peter suggested to Dr. Rodgers that we try a natural, unmedicated cycle with herbs. Dr. Rodgers agreed. What did we have to lose? It was worth a shot. During my three year IVF journey, I prepped for several FETs (8 of which were canceled due poor results) and the one that actually worked was because of Peter's dedicated collaboration with Dr. Rodgers. The natural cycle coupled with herbs resulted in the thickest and best looking my uterine lining ever got over the three years. Because of this, I was able to proceed with my FET. Many thanks to Peter for being my advocate, for trying different approaches, never giving up and helping my husband and me realize our dreams of becoming parents. Our sweet boy was born earlier this year. We are eternally grateful.

NOTE: Please note that dates for positive reviews are from years past!…read more Just stay away. I would give zero stars if I could. If Peter ever was compassionate, that was before his current burnout. I contacted Peter to begin acupuncture during my third IVF cycle (for male factor). I ignored a few red flags during my early appointments and tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. I understood he wanted me to give him four months to work with me before my next cycle. However, after consulting two of the top REs in both Chicago and NY (Dr. Catenacci at AFCC Chicago and Dr. Irani at Cornell NY) I made the decision that I would move forward with a cycle in November. While I understood he would be disappointed, I expected him to be professional. I took the time to explain to Peter that in addition to the expert medical opinions I received encouraging me to move forward in November, there were a number of other factors (both personal and financial) that made this timing right for me. Instead, Peter became extremely enraged and aggressive. He informed me that if I moved forward with an IVF cycle in November, I would be unlikely to become pregnant. And accordingly to Peter, if I did, it would not result in a live birth. Then, he went on to share with me the story of a 43 y/o IVF patient of his he saw that day. He shared that he encouraged her to take time off before her next cycle, but she did not (as if 43 y/os have a ton of time..). She then became pregnant with twins. He said he then did not see her for 6 weeks. She then lost the twins at 10 weeks. He blamed her loss on her not keeping up with acupuncture. My reason for seeking acupuncture is in large part stress reduction. I don't need an acupuncturist scaring me to death. While I expect an opinion and advice, he was not professional or compassionate. I will be looking elsewhere.
