Do not know where to start with this terrible moving company but will try. Palmers Relocations are nothing short of the worst service I have ever seen but also heartless My elderly mother needed to put her items into storage which was due to an insurance claim whilst repairs were made to her home. The builders appointed Palmers Relocations. They turned up in a truck which gave me little confidence they were as professional outfit but I thought I would leave them to it. I discussed with the team not to pack my mothers office area as it was not needing to be moved and had allot of my mothers documents and medication. They understood and I went to collect my mother from a medical appointment. When I arrived back that afternoon I noticed the office door open, all items removed and most importantly my mothers medication. I called the office very worried (understandably) and whilst their Operations Manager admitted to making a mistake, refused to try to locate the medication that day (it was only 1pm) and then advised he would need to charge me despite it being their mistake. Crazy I know !!! I pleaded. They then offered me to unload the container myself (being a 57 year old with a disability this wasn't going to happen). I called their Sydney office, again pleaded my case and I kept getting the same response that a manager would call me back. In the end, no one called back. I called 15 times. Thankfully my mothers pharmacist and doctor came to the rescue but it could have been much worse. I just could not believe how little they cared and tried to make a buck out of someones misery. Absolutely disgusting after sales service. On pick up of our items, they were very rough with our fridge and we anticipated damage. We spoke to them on the phone regarding this but because it was not put in writing, they pretended they knew nothing about it when we followed up after our shipment arrived and of course opened the box and our 1 month old fridge was damaged. We also had other furniture like beds, vases and other items damaged when opened. Everything was damaged from the way it was packed....do you not think the company should be liable for this?? No level of duty of care. Apparently you have to get multiple types of insurance to cover a variety of stages within your process. We did pay for insurance but obviously this was not included and they did not want to accept any duty of care on packing our items. They have been of no help, to the point where they don't even reply to your emails as they have got your money and don't care now. I am appalled that this type of business can carry on treating customers so poorly, it is clear from the other reviews and ratings. Be warned, stay clear of Palmers. read more

I engaged Palmers to ship my entire household from Australia to Germany in a shared container. I asked the sales rep how long delivery would take and she advised me it would be about 10 weeks. 20 weeks later we are still waiting for the shipment to arrive. My kids were left without winter clothes, we had no furniture, no linen, dishes, pots or pans. I was eventually forced to replace the vast majority of items that are in the shipment in addition to having to arrange storage for everything else once it arrives. I am now effectively paying thousands of dollars for the shipment of something I no longer need. I contacted the National Sales Manager to give Palmers the chance to sort the problem out. I was told that my sales rep should not have promised delivery in 10 weeks for a shared container. Besides that they don't want to take responsibility for the problem. Companies are responsible for the information their staff provide to customers. To say it's not their problem that the delivery takes twice the promised time is a cop out. I am stuck with a huge bill that I would not have had if Palmers had not given me misleading information. read more

Poor Experience and Overcharged Our experience with Palmers Relocations, when moving back to Melbourne from China, was very poor, resulting in extra cost to us. They were clearly the locally engaged port handlers and movers for our China based movers, that we knew nothing about until out container arrived at Port Melbourne. The quote we had been given for the Melbourne part of the move was reasonable. On arrival were were presented with an invoice for almost $800 extra over the quote. After protesting this a few times the amount was reduced to $600. We asked for some explanations and really received none from Palmers, just blithe "explanations" that it was due to extra volume on our LCL (Huh? This got measured when it was loaded) . Finally our agent in China stated it was due to extra volume for the packing of the part container load. None of this was mentioned in the final quote for the move. We paid unhappily and then Palmers tried to bill us for picking up boxes used in the move, after the crew on the day told us it was included. The extra $600 was not a lot but the lack of communication and lack of ownership of the problem ( misquote or simply lowballed estimate by somebody) was very disappointing. Caveat Emptor with this company. Is not concerned in any way about customer service. read more

Fantastic moving company. We moved within Sydney but needed our goods stored for a week. They came to our home and packed the first day and then did the removal straight into a shipping container onsite. When we were ready, they brought out the same sealed container and unloaded. Nothing broken and the guys had a great attitude. I am one happy customer read more

My family and I recently needed to relocate back to the UK and quite quickly too. I got two Quotes but chose Palmers Relocations because of a personal review from a friend who had used them. It was a great overall service and everything arrived safely. It was slight delayed but that had to be expected with covid-19 causing shipping problems everywhere I believe. 5 star service read more

I moved 6 medium-sized boxes and 3 small rugs from Australia to the USA. The email quote for 4 boxes was less than $1k. I added 2 boxes, thinking the expense would increase proportionally, however, the price went up to $3k. By then Palmers had my shipment, so I had no option but to pay. My shipment sat in Sydney for 2 months while the Palmers coordinator went on vacation and moved offices. When my shipment finally travelled, I was asked for the same customs paperwork several times. My shipment then sat in the US customs process for over a month as Palmer's US agent took their time processing the paperwork. Finally I received a call to say my shipment had arrived. I took the day off work to receive my shipment. No one showed up. I called and arranged another appointment - another day off work. Again, no one showed up. When I called the warehouse, they told me outright that they had lost my shipment. They did not seem to think this was an issue. I contacted Palmers and they told me there was nothing much they could do. I asked them to file an insurance claim which they refused to do, saying the US agent had to send them a letter admitting the loss. The US agent refused, stating that the shipment would "show up eventually". As winter had arrived in the US and I had no winter clothes, I had to buy more clothing, as well as repurchase other household items I needed. Finally, after 5 months I received my shipment - no thanks to Palmers who had no issue telling me that they did not consider my shipment to be their responsibility once it left their warehouse in Australia. When I asked Palmers whether they would be providing me with a discount or even a small rebate to compensate me for the extra expenses and stress I incurred as a customer, it was a definite no. On the bright side, the Palmers coordinator was, at all times, friendly and professional in her conduct. read more
