So my bus was completely ransacked while it was at the mechanic waiting to be fixed at Palmer Springs Company at 355 Forest avenue in Portland Maine they had a habitual problem with people living in it for at least a month now which I was just told about this morning while at the same time being told they could not find the part so they wouldn't be able to fix it, so I promptly towed it home to discover all my belongings had been stolen out of it and it had been completely trashed from front to back... Upon filling a police report I found out this had been an on going problem and they had been there multiple times to remove people from my bus.. Do any know any lawyers that could weigh on my legal rights here!?! 1) it was an in going problem I was only made aware of a month after it started... 2) I have it on good authority that the part is available from junk yards which leads me to believe they decided not to fix it at some point so as to not he held accountable for what had transpired while it was in their care.. 3) they were aware of said problem and didn't nothing to further secure my vehicle or the belongs within or to try tighten security if their lot not even putting up cameras.. just a fair warning to never bring your bus to Palmer springs company in Portland Maine read more

I usually get work done at my dealer, but they were backed up for months. Palmer was recommended to me. I went down for a rough estimate on some frame repair. Seemed reasonable and I liked the tech and counter. They were real people, no fluff, and I felt confident they could and would do the work as discussed and got me in the following week. Will update later. Not sure of the bad ratings. I found staff very friendly and helpful and available when I needed questions answered. My truck was worse than anticipated, discovered after parts came off. Took longer than I was expecting. And was somewhat more expensive than I thought. But this was a big repair to frame and truck bed. Work was excellent best I can tell. Even my mechanic was impressed when he took a look. I would be back. read more

I recently had Palmer Spring do extensive work on the brake system and wheel bearings on my 1971 Airstream Travel trailer in preparation for a three month cross country trip. I was impressed with the thoroughness of their work , particularly on the disc braking system, which is unusual. The trip was a great success and the systems all worked well. My husband has been taking his heavy duty trucks here for years, so you would think you could trust them to put new tires on and brakes. Well this is not the case. What do you want me to say? Seems to be Jason's only response when something goes wrong. This incompetent team didn't seem to know how to tighten a brake line, which meant that I had brake fluid shooting our my wheel well and no brake fluid left when my husband  looked under the hood. Mind you I I am only driving locally but with a toddler in the car. So CLEARLY I am Not slamming on my brakes as Jason suggested to my husband indicating it was my fault the brake line was loose. We were told they would make it "right". The truck was so dangerous my husband had to tow it into the shop.  They give it back to us with the explanation the line wasn't tighten ed but it is all set now. Well that wasn't the case. Three days later my brake lights are flashing again and fluid is shooting out my wheel well. NO JOKE. My husband again had the truck towed in.  Jason said what do you want me to say? Let me tell you what you say:  I am so sorry I will get this fixed for you right away and we will figure out how to repay you for your inconvenience. So now I am without my truck again. Then they say we will have this back to you by end of day. Nope didn't happen. Which made me have to cancel a detail appointment for my truck leaving someone else out of money due this group of idiots not able to change a set of brakes. I have taken my cars to sketchy repair shops and worried about the work. My husband trusted these guys with the truck that I and his son drive around in. That trust is gone. Dave the owner wasn't even made aware that my truck was brought in a second time and Dick and Jason looked away. Brush it under the rug right boys? Not going to happen! We asked for a refund of the money we paid out for labor, because clearly the labor wasn't done right. We were told not going to happen. Dave told my husband he would call himself. Didn't happen. Jason, Mr .I don't know what you want me to say called and said Dave will never refund anyone any money. Bring it back and we will give you $125 off your next service. This is a FN JOKE RIGHT?? YOU THINK I WILL PUT OUR FAMILY IN THE HANDS OF OF THIS INCOMPETENT CREW EVER AGAIN? Do not go here. Do not trust these guys. They are crooks and incompetent at their jobs. read more

I took a Toyota Tundra to these guys for a simple leaf spring repair and they ended up finding numerous other things that absolutely had to be done. One thing they didn't contact me about was a water pump that they took apart and then put back together without my permission period after paying them a total of $2,400 I left with a water pump that I have to put water in every day as well as the lack of an air conditioner belt and when asking to speak to a manager or the owner was laughed at. I never once gave these folks permission to touch the water pump as I knew it was fine. the worst part about all this was their reactions when I tried to find a reason for why they had done what they had done without any permission. Have tried on a few occasions to settle this with them and they simply would not discuss it! read more

What a joke this place is! Brought car in for over $485.00 worth of work the week before, went back for sticker the following week. Needed a new rear lens so purchased it elsewhere and asked if they could take out the 4 screws holding it on and pop the new one on...5 minute job at the most. Inspected car and less than 20 minuutes later presented with a bill for almost $80. Asked what was that for....the guy points to the sign for labor at $65 per hour! Never told about that when I supplied the lens cover....very shady business practice. The general manager, Dick, said the sign is there and he has to pay his guys. A simple job like that and charged $65 per hour for labor....after already paying almost $500 the week before? Too bad, you should have read the sign. We were looking for a new mechanic to work on our Jeep and Prius....these guys are crooks and have no customer service. Avoid at all costs! read more

Horrible. Charge $70 for just looking at car. Wouldn't give it back for alignment like they said they would. Estimated twice as much as other shops. Proposed unnecessary work. Stay away. Don't go to this place that has to advertise to keep bringing them in! read more

I called with an oil leak on my 2014 Chevy Spark. The guys got me in the same day and fixed my problem! Hats off to honest car repair shops! These guys are top notch! I brought my vehicle for for minor rust repair to get it to pass for a sticker the 1st shop said get the rocker panels patched and they would pass it that everything else was fine. Palmer spring called with about a thousand bucks in estimates and told me it would never pass inspection. The rust repair wasn't done properly either was disappointed by my whole experience. The technicians and customer service was horrible. Dick was extremely rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend anybody going here. read more

Will not go back. Palmer Spring attempts to repair things that aren't broken and charge a bunch of money for it.

Palmer Spring has been keeping my car alive and running since the day I purchased it. Now my car is about to reach 200,000 miles and it's still running great. The guys at Palmer Spring will go out of their way to make sure you get the best service around. Not to mention by going there I am supporting a local business! 10/10 read more
