I've been coming here for about 15 years on and off since it used to be Toucan Tan. Customer Service was always Fine. I just returned today before the summer like I normally do. The Girl working the front desk is extremely rude. I just ran in because I was near there to start back my membership and Tan once before I start tanning again monthly. I of course didn't have my eye ware because I didn't plan on tanning today. She would not give me a pair of the paper ones which over the years once in a blue moon I would need and it was never a problem. Than she tried to force me to buy another pair of eyewear which I refused because I have tons at home. Made me feel very-awkward because I've never been told no for paper eyewear that I used one time in a year! She said it was only a one time and I got one last April as she looked in the computer, lol. Paper Eyewear verse Customer Service! That's just downright terrible customer service! And unfortunately, it seemed she was training, a new girl and that poor girl is learning from her how to treat customers. Ugh... customer service is the worst ! Manager needs to be re trained. FYI Please don't refer to your elders as hun, it's condescending and not appropriate . Beds need to be upgraded. I'm not sure how they can charge the same prices as the more modern locations. I'll drive past going forward to the university location, they just treat you more you are the customer and not the other way around. read more

The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have never felt so small and stupid in a business before. The assistant manager is insufferable. She speaks to you as if you are the most ignorant southern she has ever met. She is so fake. The beds are so gross. The canopies have lotion all over them which tells me they are only cleaning the part of the bed customers are laying on. I had an allergic reaction to whatever was in the bed I laid in. I didn't even bring it to the girls attention because she is so rude! It's sucks that Charlotte is over ran with this horrible tanning salon! I won't be back! read more

The top tier level bed (diamond one) was great! I used it twice (with a bronzer) and I got an amazing result. That's where things change - third time around, that bed was buzy and I was asked to use bed number 13. I used it for the same amount of time, with the same lotion - having a primer tan on - and I got burned to crisp - sleep with a lot of advil for 4 nights bad. Lots of my tan is peeling off, I look all spotty and stripy. I have no idea if I can fix it somehow. Stay away from bed 13! read more

Good equipment. My only problem has been with the girls being pushy about lotion sales even after you tell them a couple times each tanning visit that you're all set. However, Emma has been a blessing to this place. She's super sweet, understanding, and helps you find what YOU are looking for rather than pushing something on you just to make a sale. Top of the line service! Hannah the store manager goes ABOVE and BEYOND! I love that I have only been to this salon a few times and she is always friendly, always willing to answer my questions, educate me on how each bed works when I upgrade and explains the best way to get the best tan I'm trying to achieve. I started going here a few weeks ago and I have to say it is super great! My hair dresser told me she goes (and she looks great!) and she does the unlimited monthly package. That is what I started and I love it! I go at off- times and just use the spray tan booth. Easy-peasy and the staff is super nice. read more

After 5 years of being a loyal customer, I just terminated my contract. I had questioned the withdrawal Palm Beach made from my account. Not a big deal, I just wanted to speak to someone at corporate since on site team was unable to answer my question. When I asked for corporate number, I was told to look at the number on the wall. Okay, there is no number. Can you just give it to me? The associate said she doesn't have it and a regional manager ,Erin, would contact me. I never received a call. The issue I was inquiring about was really minor and I ended up clearing things up by contacting my bank. But the seed was sown. The one time I needed something besides beyond tanning products and my room number, I received a rude and dismissive response and to add insult to injury, was never contacted by the manager. They lost a long time customer that could have been saved with customer service and a phone call. read more

I just showed up to tan and I get it's late, but it says they are open until 10 pm. So to me that means the doors are going to be open until 10 pm. I tried opening the door at 9:28 and the door was locked and the open sign was turned off. To me that is rude and inconsiderate of people who cannot make it until maybe 9:30 and only want to tan for 15 min and cannot get there until late at night and that is the reason why I chose palm beach tan since they were open late. Apparently that is not the case...which is completely inacceptable. When you advertise being open until 10 then I expect your door to be unlocked until 10 pm, not more than 30 minutes before 10 only because you haven't had any customers. Think about those that can't arrive until this time or maybe don't be open if don't want customers to come in until 10 pm. Clearly the customer isn't put first here!! read more

I can't speak for the spray tans, I've only used the stand up booth on a Gold membership level, and I'm extremely disappointed in the results. I gave two stars in lieu of one because the staff has been as helpful as they are apparently allowed to be, but my issues are not resolved. First, the Gold membership level is supposed to give you unlimited tanning at 12-15 minute exposures, neither of which I am getting. I'm told the bed is locked in at 10 minutes, and I am definitely not getting results compared to other places I've been. In fact, since I split my time between Charlotte and Louisville KY, I have a membership at a local place up there, and their 12 minute stand up bed roasts me proper - I could never go two days in a row. So today I figured I'd just do the 10 minutes, then get right back in and do 10 more, but I was told I could not go more often than every 23 hours. This is by definition not unlimited tanning. I don't really care about misleading ads or bait and switch tactics, I just want to get tan for my upcoming tropical vacation! I have asked to speak to the manager and she is supposed to call me tomorrow, I will update this review after I've had that conversation. read more
