Masala Pizza has several other locations besides this Schaumburg restaurant I visited. It is situated in a strip mall on the north side of Golf Rd. Just west of Salem. The place looks clean and colorfully decorated. There is seating available, but on my two visits, I just did pick up. On my first time I had the Firecracker thin crust, and on this occasion I went with the Manchurian. Both were equally enjoyable, with a nice thin crispy crust, and filled with heat and flavor, which you might well expect. They include a dipping sauce and a couple of extra flavoring spice packets in case you want to further add further zing to it. The menu is loaded with inventive food items, besides the many pizza options. It is a dangerous place for me, because I think I would love every single thing they offer. The people seem really nice, and I hope they do well here. I highly recommend.

We ordered the veggie pizza with a couple of extra toppings and a thin crust. I also ordered a tikka roll with chicken and a pair of samosas. Let's start with the samosas, which are my favorite. The casing was perfect. It couldn't be any better, and it was freshly fried. The crispness and crunch couldn't be any better. The filling, on the other hand, is a tough one. It wasn't my favorite, and it may have been a little stale. I am not 100% sure, but the flavor did not do it for me. The pizza was absolutely delicious, with a capital D. At this price point, without the extra toppings coming in at $18, not bad. Then came the chicken tikka bowl. First, I have to say that, for a place like this, which is semi-fast food, the way they poured that sauce was absolutely beautiful. See the picture: I was stunned. The chicken was flavorful, slightly dry, but that is a common thing you find in places of this kind, not just Indian. The other toppings were spectacular. The cilantro, jalapenos, and all of those looked beautiful. The rice was also absolutely flavorful. If there was one complaint or one piece of constructive criticism I would give, it would be that the rice proportion is way too high. I think you need to reduce the rice proportion by almost 20% to 25% and give just a little bit more protein. I think if you did that, this would be a perfectly balanced bowl. I happen to be staying in the area for 3 weeks, so yes, I'm definitely visiting again.

I wasn't particularly hungry :) since I had eaten breakfast not too long before, but as someone who believes in never skipping a meal, I picked up my spoon and chopsticks anyway. Well... my chopsticks got lost along the way. The six side dishes (banchan) completely stole my attention. Every single one tasted like something my grandmother would have lovingly prepared years ago. They were comforting, authentic, and absolutely delicious. The spicy cod stew, grilled mackerel and a spicy squid stone pot bibimbap were outstanding. Especially the cod was so fresh and thick that I found myself wondering, "Is this really cod?" The flaky white fish was incredibly tender, the shrimp, and other ingredients just as fresh. The spicy squid pot bibimbap was perhaps the best of all! I jokingly asked if they had a reservoir hidden behind the restaurant because everything tasted like it had just been caught that morning! Of course, great food is the most important thing, but I truly believe the warm smiles from the staff and the spotless dining environment made the meal even more enjoyable. KBBQ is one of those rare places where excellent food and genuine hospitality come together. It feels less like a restaurant and more like visiting your grandmother's house for a wonderful home-cooked meal. I'll definitely be coming back more often in the future. Highly recommended!
