let's begin with the code of conduct, shall we. there were definitely 'codes' but i was not privy to them, of course. every now and then i need a professional blow job and this is The Place. palermo more often than not usually take walk-ins almost immediately which is great but everytime i ask for a 'DEEP CONDITIONING', the certified hairstylist/owner does not give enough time for the deep conditionHER to set in. my wet hair was grabbed in a handful and the owner went to straight to work by grabbing a comb and pulling at my hair which was very painful. my cranial was sore the next week and all i could think of, perhaps it was because there was a good amount of hair yanked straight out of its pores. then i was stationed at the pedicure corner which the nail specialist did an excellent job, except she always enjoys showing me the same youtube animation-comedy about nail salons, which is harmless. maybe that's just her way of connecting with her customers. i'd see her again for a manicure. then i was moved to esly's corner. she scared me. perhaps it was because she too yanked my hair with the hairbrush last time i was there as well and my cranial was already hurting from the first deep conditioning pulling of my hair. needless to say, esly yanked my hair again and was done less than 25 minutes. perhaps it's because however curly my hair is due to dying it often for many years, is still considered soft and fine. esly then left me at her station for a few minutes because she had to go get something in her car. the acrylic nails were $45.00 and i gave her a tip because her work was professional, she was kind and courteous. the blow dry with deep conditioning was $80. i must have purchased palermo at least one bottle of their secrets of deep conditioning and one bag of bustelo coffee. which by the way, refreshments, a bottled water or coffee would have been nice. i also gave esly a tip because i thought it would give her an opportunity to correct her error and learn anything from this yelp review, if she sees it. i know, i know, it's like giving children a reward for bad behaviour, but they're not children. eitherway my hair did look love-LEE-er afterward, so i paid it forward. always look and pay it FORWARD.... read more
