Have you ever past a place , countless of times saying i want to check this place out ?? Well that ! Mamma Mia what took me so long ? The pastries and cappuccino . The 5 fingers to the lips and kiss ! Highly recommend to get your holiday party and family gathering treats !! Walked out with 3 pies , Panettone and of course can't forget the cannolis ! This place is so cozy , it belongs in a neighborhood not in corner facing 3 major highways ( 46, 23 , 80 ) But then again the exposure for more foot traffic is high . It does get packed !! . Which leads me to say , the eat in cafe area is very small , tiny . Its more sip and go rather then hang out like old school or European cafes .

Always excellent quality and delicious products. Definitely a staple for any family function at this point.

Display of Italian donuts and pastry

Don't walk, RUN to Palazzone. The display case of beautiful pastry and cookies will make you drool. The servers are pleasant and efficient. They have Italian cookies made fresh, light and delicious and miles apart from what you would get anywhere else. The "lobster tails" were crunchy on the outside and the cream so light and gently sweet. The panettone comes in many varieties from Artisnal, made with premium ingredients to gluten free and even vegan. Palazzone is not to be missed.

If you are looking for a spot for lunch you have found it. The service is always attentive and the two staff members who are always there make you feel like you took a quick trip to Italy and I absolutely love it. The Olivia salad is one of my go-tos. You'll see pictured is this salad with arugula rather than lettuce. 10/10 as always

The Palazzone family are immigrants from Italy. They bring traditional Italian pastries that are authentic, fresh and of old world quality. When I need to bring pastries to an event, I often come here. Open since 1960 at this location, Palazzone's is located on Route 23 South directly opposite the WillowBrook Mall. Cookies are purchased by the pound. They range between $16-$18 which in this area is a pretty competitive price. Pastries can be bought individually starting at $2.75. Once you have tasted their cookies or pastries you well notice their quality. They are delicious. I recommend their lobster tails ($3.80). Mousses ($5.00). Cannoli ($3.50), Tiramisu ($5.00) and Napoleons ($2.50) Their Gelato offerings start at $4 for a small and up to $8 for a large.

First you need to be patient with willowbook mall traffic and the only access is from Newark Pompton turnpike GOING NORTH. Waze routes you through downtown little falls so be braced for a commute or making illegal shopping center drive uturns. Finally got here for lunch as it's not open late enough for dinner and it was worth the wait. Dishes are fresh and well made. Had ravioli with black truffle sauce. Amazing. Pastries are ok and beautiful but stick with Italian ones as carrot cake was tasteless to me

Wow, to food, drinks and specially the desserts - biscotti, lobster claws, many different little Italian pastries AND gelato. Truly traditional Italian and we have traveled to Italy on a number of times. Please try it and Enjoy!

A friend heard about this place and we had to go try it after lunch... great for dessert after lunch...Small italian pastry shop but nice and clean. Assorted pasties, cakes, gelatos, coffee and more. Friendly staff and service. Never knew of this place as it's right across the road from the Willowbrook Mall area. To get here have to drive further down and come around. Small parking lot - there is some seating indoors and outdoors. Indoors preferably for a hot day. Definitely hard to decide what to get as everything looked so good. Good place to come pick up pastries for a party or gathering if nearby. Gelato - small $3.50, medium $4.50, large $5.50 The pistachio gelato was really good. Will come back and try something else or just get more gelato. Restroom inside for customers.

Honestly all I can say is WOW. This place was amazing. Very authentic and very welcoming. I came for lunch with some coworkers and I am truly sad I had never been before. What on earth was I waiting for?? Palazzone has every pastry and cake and cookie one could dream of. You name it, I'm sure they have it. They have a little area to sit and eat - panini, salads, pastas, etc. Our group shared a delicious charcuterie board. I had the Olivia salad which was a huge portion and very filling. It's rare I see tuna like this on a menu so I knew I needed to have it. We were celebrating a coworker and split the most delicious Nutella cake. It was light and covered in hazelnuts. I wanted to lick the plate. My parents literally went days later at my recommendation. This place is in the lineup now for sure.

I'm giving four stars because the cake is really good but the message inscription on the cake can be professional. Can do better in this area. Ordered online from the little falls branch.

These delicacies all share a mixed past, some equally as French as they are Italian, and others showing Arabic-Sicilian influence. Located off 46 East in Fairfield, this family-owned and operated establishment, founded in 1962, is one of our favorites for sweet desserts and Italian pastries. Upon arriving on this Christmas Day at Calandra's Italian and French Bakery, a steady stream of patrons entered its door to an interior space big and nicely designed, awaiting their turns on several available lines. On display in their numerous cases, there were cookies to cannolis, an assortment of cookies, pies, cakes, custom cakes, jarred sauces, and homemade pasta. I decided on a coconut custard pie, a pecan pie, and several pasteis de nata. Everything was so good and simply amazing, with a variety of freshly baked goods that cater to all tastes, especially the pasteis, just how the bakeries in Newark's Ironbound district make them. Will definitely be returning here for the next event.

To go a little further, I go to an event a few weeks ago where their cookies are the main dessert and see gluten free and the little one and I do a happy dance. I skeptically open the wrapper and taste one of the best chocolate chip cookies I've had in a long time. I then proceed to order just about everything they will ship. I do have to say that gluten free is going to be different for anyone who isn't used to it but this comes almost perfectly close to a regular cookie without having a million ingredients in it that you can't pronounce. Absolutely amazing. They're so good that my gluten loving brothers have been stealing all my cookies. Did Oprah name this the best gluten free chocolate chip cookie? Yes. Do I usually listen to Oprah? Debatable...but she did also rate the chocolate cake at The Chocolate Room as the best and she was right on about that. Generally gluten free cookies are either chewy because of date paste (in excess) or they are super thin and crunchy and lack those comforting flavors that you look for. This cookie has an amazing height, a super buttery taste and is loaded with chocolate chips. I also ordered the midnight double chocolate cookie and in general I turn my nose up at white chocolate chips but this reminded me of my favorite cookies I used to get at the mall when I was little. Again, buttery and delicious with the right amount of sweetness, not overboard at all - not even with the small amount of white chocolate. The oatmeal plus is another amazing cookie. I happen to love oatmeal cookies and it's one of the only things that I will bake gluten free myself because I don't trust anywhere else but these are awesome! The cranberries, and again with the aid of a few white chocolate chips (literally), are the perfect balance and make for an absolutely delightfully chewy oatmeal cookie. Super huge bonus - every one of my family members and the little one hate raisins so the cranberries are a very welcome change. The butterscotch walnut sugar cookie is amazing! I kind of wanted to do incredibly unhealthy things with it upon the first taste and sent some to a gluten free girlie friend and she said the same thing - divine. It's the perfect hit of sweet and salt. The brownies are a little more on the cakey side but I totally don't mind because again the flavor is perfect, chocolatey, not too sweet and a great texture. Mom and I both thought the same thing on the first taste - perfect vehicle for brownie sundaes. They also sell granola (which I didnt get this time but might have to soon) and breads (I suppose in the area, not for shipment) and the online ordering was super easy and fast. The super important thing is that they're so serious about being gluten free that celiacs everywhere can rejoice. Their facility was set up with all new equipment - no bread oven from another bakery or anything like that. They test their foods to a sensitivity that not even other brands (or probably bakeries) do and do not allow anything with gluten in the facility, because in case you didn't know cross contamination is so easy (Babycakes I'm looking at you). This was truly a find and a treat and I now have boxes and boxes of cookies that I thought were gonna last for a while but at the rate that everyone is eating them I'd be surprised if they last even two more weeks. Gluten free brownie sundae here we come!

I've been aware of this bakery/pastry establishment for a few years (I think it showed up in this relatively new apartment building on Main Street two or three years ago), but hadn't actually thought to go inside until yesterday morning. I was entrusted with obtaining a dessert for a weekend BBQ, and it occurred to me that this was at least the easiest spot to quickly grab something. The fact that the desserts were extremely good ended up being a pleasant accident/bonus. I brought one of my top tier chums to assist with the purchase. From very brief research, it seemed like the eclairs were the big selling point here. I thought it would also be a little wily on my part to get them because I tend to not enjoy eating food that has stuff in it, and figured I'd be unlikely to do anything too naughty with that. That turned out not to be accurate, but I digress. We got the five for $25 éclair deal, and procured a raspberry, a lemon meringue, a nutella, a pistachio and a cookies & cream. Just as we were about to wrap up, I also impulsively grabbed a cheddar/bacon scone, which was humongous and understandably caught my eye. The eclairs were definitely a hit. My personal favorite was the cookies & cream. The flavor was incredibly on point, and it was almost like a meta ice cream experience. The only issue with that one specifically was that the cream inside was runnier than the other pastries, which made it a little messy. Not a huge deal. The runner-up was probably the raspberry for me. Again, extremely flavorful, almost to a fault - it was overwhelmingly tart, which is obviously kind of a calling card for raspberries but if you're not into that, I'd stay away. The nutella was actually a little on the bland side for me but not bad. The lemon meringue was a big hit for everyone else, but I'm not a huge fan of that flavor to begin with - I don't think that's a mark against this place by any means. In hindsight, we probably wouldn't have gotten the pistachio, but none of us are hardcore pistachio fans. The cream consistency and dough for all of these was very high quality, and understandably a lot of this is going to come down to how you feel about specific flavors. In a final twist later on, I sampled the scone around dinner time and was very pleasantly surprised - the scone was very moist and tasty, and was reminiscent of a Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuit, though probably at least twice the size and with actual pieces of bacon in it. Very strong recommend on that front. The service was very good. We had a pleasant female cashier assisting us as my chum was literally squatting on the ground eagerly peering into the display case squealing out flavors to get. Zero issues there, and we were in and out within a few minutes uneventfully. There were also a lot of cakes and other types of pastries, so I expect I'll be returning shortly to obtain their assistance with another BBQ.
