The cost of my haircut wasn't much compared to other places ($40 and of course I brought extra for tip). They take cash or card. This hair salon is very cute and it reminds me a bit of Manhattan. I went to Amela after many recommendations and I was not disappointed at all. I asked for a layered (lots of layers) in a V cut shape. I already had bangs prior so she recommend that I get curtain bangs too. I was so pleased with the service and the result. Although I knew that only one of the stylists was particularly well-known on Instagram, I was assured that everyone there was experienced and that I would be in good hands. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing, especially considering the price. I was asked to arrive on time, which I completely understand, but I did have to wait a little after arriving. That wasn't a big deal at all. What bothered me more was that my stylist didn't look at any of the inspirational pics I had saved to show her. Instead, as I was describing what I wanted, I was told that the style I wanted was something they do "all day, every day," which made me feel confident that I was in good hands, so I didn't press on it too much. Unfortunately, the final result looked very different from what I had asked for. I completely understand that everyone's hair is different and that a particular style may not turn out exactly the same on every person. However, the photos I had (which she didn't look at) were of hair that was quite similar to mine, so I expected at least a closer interpretation of the look I was going for. I left feeling like my vision wasn't really heard or taken into consideration. When I asked about the price beforehand, I was told it would be $100 and up. I was surprised because I have never paid that much for a wash, cut, and blowout, but I was willing to pay it for a good experience and a result I loved. The final price, however, was $150. Apparently the stylist on IG starts at $150 and "up". The price itself wouldn't have bothered me nearly as much if I had walked out feeling happy with my hair. Unfortunately, I didn't. For $150, I expected a much higher level of service, attention to what I requested, and, most importantly, a result that reflected the style I came in asking for. I don't like leaving negative reviews, and I understand that things don't always turn out perfectly. But I feel this salon is significantly overpriced for the service I received. I have NEVER paid $150 for a wash, cut, and blowout, and based on my experience, I unfortunately don't feel the service justified the cost and I don't think I will return.

This salon ONLY takes people by appointment which is amazing because this means no wait times and a safe environment to get your hair done! There is only two person who are working one person who does the hair and someone else who washes your hair. This places takes such good care of their customers and cater to what their customer wants! I got my hair cut, straightened, setting perm on the bottom and got my hair colored balayage ash brown. Got to buy a couple of products to keep my hair nice and fresh! Totally would recommend and felt very safe!

I was talked into getting my eyebrows tinted as my brows are thin and the technician said it would be natural looking and last two weeks. I wasn't used to how dark the brows turned out and she wiped the brows again to try to lighten them. They did fade the next day and wasn't as obvious.
