We completed a walkthrough of my home, identifying everything that would be included in the move. After I signed the contract, they began working immediately. Unfortunately, about an hour into the move, the team lead pulled me aside and presented me with a new contract. He explained that I had been quoted incorrectly and that the job would require a third mover. This increased the cost by an additional $80 per hour and extended the estimated time from 5 hours to 7 hours. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed by this sudden change. The team had already completed the walkthrough and knew exactly how much needed to be moved, yet they waited more than an hour into the job to tell me additional labor was required. Because I was on a strict timeline to vacate the home I was selling and move into my new house, I felt I had no real choice but to agree and proceed. After everything was packed, we conducted another walkthrough. I pointed out several items that had been missed, and the team began loading them. However, when I returned for a final check, I discovered they had still left behind a significant amount of belongings--enough to fill my SUV twice. The issues continued at the new house. Clearly labeled boxes were placed in the wrong locations, with basement items brought upstairs and garage items left outside in the yard instead of being placed in the garage. I specifically reminded the crew to plug in my basement refrigerator, but they failed to do so, resulting in all of the meat stored in the freezer being spoiled. Overall, the experience was extremely frustrating and disorganized. What started as a quoted $1,500 move ended up costing me nearly $2,800, and the quality of service did not justify the additional expense. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience.

I had to call multiple times the morning of my move after multiple confirmations prior. They told me they had no move prior to me that day and showed up with a rented truck and very few pads to wrap my furniture, which were requested in advance multiple times prior to my move. The owner was the only effective mover. He brought two others workers and I literally ran circles around one of them, as he put his monster energy drink on my antique furniture multiple times. It was very frustrating to watch the crew move my items, bumping into walls, set drinks on my furniture and not wrap my furniture, as requested prior to moving items. I had much better success with the big companies that are local movers. The prices were also better with other moving companies. When they went to close out my transaction at the end of my move, they forgot about my $100 initial deposit as well as miscommunicated the dollar amount giving me multiple prices. I will not use this company again and was not pleased with my experience.

My husband and I hired for help specifically because we were moving into a second floor apartment…read moreand we have middle aged knees. It took under 2 hours to load the truck, and 4 hours (!!!) to unload - and the move was only completed in that 6 hour time frame because I hired two additional movers from a different company who were over in moments, thankfully, because the poor kid from Oody was falling asleep on the job, literally any time he was still. The guys who showed up were young (early 20s), they were scheduled for 3pm, we were their second move for the day, but the third shift for one of the movers who was clearly totally exhausted after working another job all night - so he was awake for 24 hours at 5pm. I was clear with management that we had large pieces and we needed guys who could lift it. That was not communicated well, and what should have been an "easy job" was a total mess due to the lack of leadership from Oody. I was so frustrated and upset - all our home ultimately needed be unloaded onto the lawn and then taken up to the apartment so we could get the pieces that didn't fit into a storage unit, and these movers off the clock. It cost 2 hours more than the quoted 4 hours expected (and quoted) for 6 hours total. It ended up costing me twice what was quoted by the time I got the move done and paid all the guys at both companies. I needed strong end lifters for a straightforward move, and that was not what I got. Even with the furniture not fitting, that should not have resulted in the 6 hours of work. I was on a budget, they blew my budget, they did not provide an adequate response to the dilemma (like sending out their own men to help finish the job, without charging me extra for not being able to do it as promised), and the half hour they cut off the bill because of the trouble was inadequate compensation for the problematic situation they created. I called to discuss this with the manager, and I continue to wait to hear back. Since I haven't heard from him yet, I decided that it was appropriate to give an honest review of my experience with the company. I will not be using them again.

When they inevitably can't do the job in the time frame given to them, you are then forced to pay an additional fee. I was given a quote of $1,800 to move a 2 bd home from East Lansing to Chicago. After I called to let them know that I had a lot of books and thought the quote was too low, the owner raised it to $2,000 without ever coming to see my things. On the day of the move, they only sent two guys, who worked extremely hard to try to load everything within the time window. Unfortunately, once they got to Chicago, their Ryder truck was too tall to clear under the El tracks, so they spent several hours driving around looking for another way to get to my neighborhood. By the time they were done unloading, it was 11pm, and I was charged an additional $1,400 above the original quote, plus I paid the guys a good tip for all their hard work. I should note, I was not provided with any kind of contract in advance and was asked to pay the flat rate prior to booking. That and the low bid should have alerted me that something was off. I also think the company should have been able to find a truck-friendly route in advance, since they had the destination address. I should not have been forced to pay $1,400 extra for the fact that they used a super tall rental truck and didn't use a trucker-friendly route. In summary, I ended up paying pretty much what I expected, but the whole situation was a poorly planned bait and switch that made for an extremely stressful move. I do not recommend using this company for any kind of interstate move.
