I was very excited to visit and shop at this small business store as the owner had a children's board book that I was giving as a shower gift and unfortunately no one else was carrying it. I was taken back to see her NO ENTRY WITHOUT A MASK sign on the front door. I briefly thought that perhaps the owner just had not taken the sign down from over a year ago. I entered the store and was just standing in front of the door looking around at all the beautiful items that were for sale. A woman come forward from the back of the store and stated we don't allow entry without a mask and proceeded to direct me to the little mask station she had set up to the right of the store. I was shocked and taken back! All the lies and propaganda came running through my gut again and I simply stated "I do not buy that narrative", and turned around and walked out unable to purchase the book set. She has a right to set restrictions as I have the right to not comply. If she is that ill or sensitive to germs perhaps she would be better staying home or having customers order online. My sense is that continuing these restrictions will cause her business to fold as there was not one other soul in the store. My experience was not positive and I will not recommend this particular establishment. Such a huge disappointment and shame. Good luck Paisley Monkey. You are very woke and may go broke. read more

I do not recommend this establishment. We stopped by to look for toys. Although open for business the door was locked and we had to wait for her to open it. Once inside she was wearing a covid mask (her right to do so) but she required us to also wear one. (Also her right to require). My wife put one on and briefly shopped while I went back to the car and wait for her. We had brought in our little Shitzu and that was a no no. She said she had allergies to dogs so we both waited in the car. Our dog is hypoallergenic and is a therapy dog for my wife who is ill. My wife finished browsing and exited the store without buying anything. Although she was interested in a couple items, but decided to hold off. She went to exit but the door was locked behind her so had to wait for the owner to unlock it. Then we drove away. Yes, the owner has the right to set these restrictions but we also have a right to decide where to shop. read more

I do not ever write reviews about stores or any place in general but, if I could give this zero stars I would. Walked in yesterday with my two small little kids, and she (I'm assuming the owner) tried forcing my little kids to put face masks on. I explained to her they won't keep them on and that I would make my shopping trip quick. I willingly put a mask on myself, to be cooperative. She made nasty comments at me and demanded that my kids put one on. So I grabbed my kids and I walked out, told both her (and her husband I'm assuming) that I'll take my money else where. And that's exactly what I did. I used to shop here all the time, especially for baby shower gifts. But I vow to never ever step foot in this store again. read more

This is a wonderful local shop to get unique baby and little children's gifts that aren't just from Target or big box stores. They have a lot of really reasonably priced toys and books to choose from that you wouldn't find anywhere else. Me and my friend were visiting baby boutiques! This was one of our stops for the day. When we walked in the floor was dirty and dingy. We LOVE the brands and we knew we were their to spend money. You have to hit up a ton of baby boutiques to see the different styles each store has. We went to Babycakes Children's Boutique, Pinwheel Kids and we frequent Baby Sweet Peas in our local nearby town. The lady asked us if we needed anything in particular and we said no. I had my 19 month old with me. She likes to mimic mommy and she was taking stuff off the shelves and setting them on the floor. I was right behind her picking them back up. The lady said there was a play area. I kept trying to keep my daughter over in the play area while I shopped around. She was interested in the toys on the shelves that were in boxes. I was trying my best to shop with my 19 month old. The lady said to me ma'am you need to keep a better eye on your child. She followed us around the store. We did not feel welcomed in an "upscale" establishment. I walked back up to the counter and told the lady we would not be purchasing from this store. She said she could not sell stuff dirty that my child was touching. She said I need to have more respect. I left. I had to go back to the store to get my daughters basket. The woman ripped my basket from me to empty out the toys my 19 month old was allowed to play with. My daughter had put an item in her basket and the woman said oh look store product. Then touched my daughter's things in her basket (wipes and diapers) with her dirty hands and said I don't even know what this is. I grabbed my basket and left. This is a childrens store. They sell clothes and toys for newborns to 9 year olds. Do not bring your children to this store because this woman is mean! She will stalk you and not let your kids touch the toys or clothes. read more

How is my sweet baby nephew 10 months old already and I'm just finding this place now? I confess, I've been by here a thousand times and even right next door at TJ's and never really stopped for a look. But while getting my pastrami on yesterday, I happened to notice a cute little boat toy for the tub in the window of Paisley Monkey. So in I went and out I came with birthday bathtub gifts for the little guy and a big-time appreciation for another awesome Lakewood local business! They have THE CUTEST clothes, toys, etc in here and all of it has the local, handmade, clean green feel to it that I love. Lots of plastic toys that are 100% recycled plastic. Organic cotton clothing and blankets and wooden blocks abound. For the quality of stuff in here, I think the prices are completely fair. The two super cute plastic tub toys I got were under 20 bucks each. I think one was only $14 and they are good-sized toys which seem very durable. PM is a bright airy store that has a lot in it but isn't cluttered at all. The lady working there was great - she knew a lot about all the items I asked about and offered to gift bag my goodies without a thought! Totally cute shop that is my new no-doubt go-to when in need of a baby or little kid gift for any occasion. Definitely stop by and give this place some business. This store is very clean and easy to locate on Detroit in Lakewood. I loved the selection of toys they had and all the children's clothes were adorable. The only complaint I really had was the cost. Children grow so fast that I can't justify spending over $30 for an outfit for a 3 year old. I would have bought probably one of everything if they prices weren't so steep. read more

Despite having great toys and product lines, the customer service here is unwelcoming at best. I was actually scolded by the owner for letting my toddler play with the toys which we were there to buy. And he was in the their "designated " play area! Other times I have been there, she has barely acknowledged my presence. She seems to care more about her displays than her actual customers. This place is so cute! I was trying to buy a gift for my nephew and stumbled upon Paisley Monkey and I'm so glad I did. Great selection of items -- clothes, books, toys, baby "accessories." It's also not your typical baby and kid options items -- you can tell that it's thoughtfully curated. It is on the pricey side, but I'll definitely be back for future baby gifts. This is a ridiculously cute baby and kids' store. You feel happy the minute you walk in the door because fun music plays on a speaker outside the store. The store is well merchandised with higher-end brands like Tea (also carried by Nordstrom) as well as a nice selection of shoes, socks, tights, books, and gifts for Moms. Hate this store with a passion. My in-laws have gotten both my kids stuff from here, all of which I have hated but couldn't return since I live 45 mins away. I did finally make a trip out there to return an outfit they bought for my newborn which was very impractical. I didn't have a receipt, but the lady was able to look it up in the computer and it had been 34 days and their return policy is 30 days. She gave me a hard time but eventually agreed to let me exchange it for something else. I couldn't find anything in the entire store worth exchanging for, everything was hideously ugly and I would never dress my kids in that. I finally settled on a onesie a few sizes too big just to get the heck out of there and never go back. read more

A very unique Children's store. Has a variety of educational toys, puzzles, books, baby & children apparel along with crafts and arts. Also has baby items including diaper wraps, unique rattles. I bought a Boo Boo Bunny! A small rabbit that contains a cube that you freeze and put into the slot in the Bunny to use as a ice compress. So cute and very soft! Also purchased a Lamaze tether/rattle that my granddaughter loves! A great store to visit! A teacher's paradise as all the toys are unique, educational and very well made. I want to go back to get the wooden cube blocks! Different sets include Animals, ABC's ( in different languages) numbers, street signs and the like! Really different! I recommend this for teachers as well as parents and grandparents alike. If you want to buy a unique gift for a child this is the place to shop! read more

Love this place. Some of the clothes can be a little on the pricey side (especially if your fast-growing little one would only wear those cute clothes for a couple of months at best). Extremely overpriced, but they carry unique pieces so I would buy sparingly. However, purchased two pair of capri leggings for my daughter and one pair shrunk so bad-they were premie size! The other pair was fine, so I took them back thinking they would let me exchange the item. I threw away the receipt as I intended to keep the pants...I washed them(cold water and low heat)!! The employee acted as if I was crazy (even holding them up to a pair in store same size and visibly being considerable smaller) and she refused to even let me exchange the pants! Due to the fact that I bought a clearance item...as I should know what's on clearance and what isn't. Needless to say $15 for a pair of clearance leggings that I won't even be able to give to a friend for a newborn they are so small! I won't be back as they clearly don't appreciate their local patrons and would recommend you stay away-heaven forbid you need to exchange or return items due to a growing kid, ill sizes, or faulty product! read more
