My finished painting.

Thank you for being so awesome, Painting with a Twist Beaumont! Our bachelorette group had a TON of fun with Heather as our instructor and Kailee as the assistant. We tried to get enough girls for a private party originally, but I was glad that we ended up being in the main room where it was loud and fun. Heather was telling jokes and easily starting conversations with the group. They were playing some great 90s alternative jams that had all us singing along -- anyone remember putting your tender heart in a blender with Eve 6? I'd done another painting with wine thing in Houston before, but this experience was better in energy and better in painting instruction. Heather was really patient in going back over steps and taking it slow, and Kailee made sure everyone had enough paint and paper towels and walked around giving us tips to make our painting look better. I think most people were happy with how their painting turned out, but even if they weren't, you weren't allowed to say anything negative about your work. They also played a game during the break of "what's the weirdest thing in your purse." And there were some weird things that made for some good laughs. I'd also like to apologize, because walking out I realized that no one from our group tipped the girls, but no one had any cash. So for anyone else coming here, please remember to bring cash, they deserve it!

Ask the Community - Painting with a Twist

What's the new standard for COVID-19 there?

Hi Dante! Due to Covid, we're being extremely cautious... we've cut our capacity by more than 50%; guests are placed at stations 6' apart; we had our floors stripped then waxed with an extra antibacterial layer; our table paper, paint palettes,…

So fun! It was a tad crowded and staff was a bit slow, but other than that, zero complaints. Place…read morewas very clean? Tons of art supplies and many colors to help you with your piece. It is rather pricey, but with everything included it's not so bad. They do have beverages for a dollar incase you get thirsty and there are tons of restaurants nearby!

Listen... if you're trying to impress on a first date without doing the tired dinner-and-drinks…read moreroutine, this is the move. I booked Potteryland Studio for a 3:30 PM session, and while it was a little busy, it actually worked in our favor. The energy in the room helped ease those first-date nerves--because let's be honest, silence on a first date is not your friend. The selection of pottery pieces? Solid. Plenty of variety without being overwhelming. We landed on the 2-piece butterfly set (which felt very "cute but intentional"), and I added the balloon add-on to bring some extra life to the table. That little detail? Whew. It did exactly what it needed to do. She was impressed, and points were definitely earned. Once we chose our pieces, there was a bit of a wait before someone came over to walk us through the process. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable. When he did come over (his name escaped me--I was focused on not fumbling the date), he was helpful and explained the painting process clearly, including the "3 coats for true color after firing" tip. From there, it was smooth sailing. We picked our colors, got to painting, and just... talked. And that's where this place shines. It creates space for real conversation without it feeling forced. You're doing something with your hands, you're laughing at each other's designs--it's low pressure but still intentional. The staff checked on us regularly, which I appreciated. My only critique? The cooler. I didn't even notice it until we were wrapping up, and I was definitely ready for some water by then. If that's for guests, just say that upfront. Don't have me discovering hydration like it's a hidden side quest. Overall? This was a great experience. Creative, interactive, and just the right amount of different. The date went well, the vibe was right, and honestly... I'd do it again.

Potteryland - But everybody kept telling me they love the watermelon vibe. I'm optimistic about the glazing and baking, but I like watermelons, too.
