What a fun experience! Instructor, Jesse, was great. He starts showing you what to do with the rod and then does a demonstration. You pick up your creation the next day. Didn't feel dangerous at all. People go one at a time and the instructor is with you reminding you what to do the whole time. Will definitely be back for more classes. It's an art but not as hard as you think. I was expecting an open workshop. I went here during my lunch break to check out their setup as I'm someone who rents the GH weekly and when I showed up it took me 15min just to find the shop as there were no signs outside or even in the building to direct me. This was just what I needed that weekend. Our instructor showed up on time, was courteous, organized, explained the process well and made us feel safe and relaxed to "create". The demonstration was very helpful. When the time came for us to make something we chose to make glass ornaments for a Christmas tree. There was two of us taking the class and honestly I would not have more than 3 attendees at a time as the studio is on the small side and while it's clean and organized, you are surrounded by glass objects and one gets nervous. The ornaments we created were a success -- considering it was our first time. We received plenty of direction and sometimes hands on help from the instructor when we were headed for trouble while working with glass. Just to remove any anxiety, this studio's class is perfect for beginners. There is no kiln, there is no molten glass in a pit, this is glass blowing done with neon glass tubes and similar glass rods with a butane torch. The glass still gets up to the temperature it needs to melt but there are less opportunities for clumsiness and mishaps. Having said this, show up fed, hydrated(bring some water to drink), a small towel wouldn't hurt to wipe off sweat cause you will sweat some just from concentration and being near the torch. Don't eat a giant meal or drink alcohol before this class. If you are celebrating, do this class first then go get your big meal and alcohol. You must be sharp and fresh when you show up. Trust me. You will be working in a well ventilated, air conditioned space with goggles and other safety measures. The Instructor will be by your side at all times and guiding you or jumping in if something is headed south during the process. We were there a little over an hour I believe. It was just right. We walked away with two quite nicely done ornaments considering it's our first time. The 15 mins during which I was working on my ornament blowing glass etc was possibly some of the most zen times have spent in quite some time. I didn't think of anything or anyone else for 15 mins. It was just me, the glass and the flame. I highly recommend this studio and their class offerings. read more

Paid for a heart ornament sesh but was able to change and do an ornament. Really unique experience. I bought a Groupon for me and my wife to take a 2 hour class. Scheduling was really easy. During the class William really took his time to explain all of the steps and modeled everything before letting us try it out for ourselves. We were able to customize our colors from a variety of different styles to choose from. William was able to troubleshoot issues that came up with my piece really effectively and my wife and I both ended up with really awesome pieces. I took my four grandchildren to this establishment so they could learn about glass making and make something to take home and be proud of. I paid $450 for a 2-hour session. I expected that they would be able to make a vase, a Christmas ornament, a simple piece of jewelry, etc. Two of my older grandchildren (both girls ages 14 and 12) had had experience making those types of things at Three Dimensional Visions for the past few years. Since Three Dimensional's ovens were down, we chose to try Juggernaut Glass. It was a mistake. The instructor was instructive, but he did not allow any of my grandchildren to make anything other than a marble or heart shaped marble. Even though he had several other items on display and I told him my granddaughters had experience making other things, his answer was "No." I will not go back, since I feel like paying $450 for four marbles was a total waste of money and time. Mark, the owner/operator, is the most unprofessional, ill-mannered business person I have ever dealt with. (Sorry for the long read, I wanted to include all the details) To start, I had great difficulty even getting in contact with anyone in order to schedule the class that I purchased on Groupon. I followed the Groupon instructions and called the number provided multiple times, never got an answer, left voicemails, never got called back. I then proceeded to email them, still nothing. I emailed in a second time and they finally replied a couple of days later, followed by them only replying every few days until the final few exchanges. During the email exchanges, I was scheduled for the wrong class and had to provide the same information multiple times. Also, I was told that every single one of my choices of class dates that worked with my schedule were "unavailable," despite the fact that they were clearly available on his website. That being, I end up being scheduled for the date of his choosing which was 3 weeks after the latest date of my choice and over a month out. This is after I had also already spent weeks just trying to get in contact with them. Keep in mind that none of this in the fine print when you purchase a class, he only requires 2 weeks notice yet he was forcing me to choose a class date that was over a month out and didn't work well with my schedule. I expressed my concerns in what I thought was a very polite final email to Mark letting him know that I was still excited for the class but also felt there was some areas that could use improvement for the next customer.   A minute or so after sending that email I received a phone call from Mark (which I find ironic that now he is so quick to get back to me). Before he even starts I ask if I can call him back shortly because I'm in class, he continues anyway saying "as soon as make enough money to quit my day job I'll have someone there to answer the phones 24/7, as soon as I make enough money to afford a babysitter, I'll have someone there to respond to emails 24/7." He is angry and berating me and blaming me for using Groupon, saying that he doesn't make any money using Groupon and essentially that my scheduling difficulties were my fault for using Groupon rather than purchasing through his own website. After hanging up on me, he sent me a text and email commanding me to contact Groupon for a refund and that I was removed from the schedule. I did not respond to any of his messages demanding me to getting a refund and asking if I've done it yet since the day he called so he sent me another email a few days later. In that email he continues with the anger stating "people like yourself tend to assume way too much" "You just don't know how difficult it is to manage a glassblowing business while working a full-time job." He then AGAIN explains how he makes nothing using Groupon and if I would have just paid full price I would have been able to get my day of choice but since I used Groupon I have to wait until they fill up a class so they can put me in that class. (A. I didn't even know this place existed before finding them on Groupon and B) it doesn't say anything on Groupon suggesting you have to go to a class of their choosing). He also adds "I don't like long emails where people tell me how to do things better." He then tries to tell me that if I can follow their flow he'll honor my reservation? Overall, this business owner is extremely unprofessional, apparently very short-tempered, and treats his Groupon customers like garbage, despite the fact that he was the one who chose to put his company on Groupon. I was ready and willing to look past the difficult scheduling process, that's annoying but minor. What's not minor is when you call and berate your customers over the phone because they used the platform that you put out there for them to use. (I would've posted this review sooner but I just now finally got my refund from Groupon) read more

Juggernaut Glass offers a variety of classes including fusing, lamp work, mosaics, glass blowing, and private lessons for whatever you desire to learn. So far I've done coasters (fusing; see picture) with the husband and also lampworking (made dice; in the kiln so no pics yet!). Everyone I've met has been helpful and laid-back. I'm looking forward to coming back to learn more glassmaking techniques and even renting some studio time later on to start my own projects! Schedules are pretty flexible, and prices are fair. My wife booked our class for my birthday and we showed up and there were 2 other couples waiting. The owner of the building asked if we were waiting for the glass blowing and we said yes and he said you may want to call Mark, the instructor, to check if he was coming back. He stated Mark had left about 10 minutes before we arrived and looked like he wasn't coming back. So we waited about 20 minutes after the class should have begun and decided to call Mark. One of the couples stated they had booked with him a Private lesson for 2, while the other couple and us were supposed to be in a group setting. Basically he double booked us and we all booked weeks and for us, about a month in advance. Mark stated he had to leave and could not return for the session that day. Completely ruined my birthday gift and wasted our time. He didn't even have balls to let us know he was leaving, just ghosted everyone. We love about an hour away and we decided to try giving him one more chance. After many email exchanges between my wife and him, it got nowhere so I decided to send him an email. He never responded so we decided to trade in our Groupon and basically take our business elsewhere. This guy is a big hit and miss and doesn't take his business or other people's time seriously. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! My wife and I were extremely disappointed and do not recommend this business to anyone. read more
