This is our second remodel project with Unique. I can't recommend these guys enough. Their design…read moreteam created a beautiful plan and their construction team (Alex) and GC (Scott) were amazing in executing the plan. What I love most is not everything went as planned but any issues and concerns were addressed and corrected. The carpet in our son's room was stained. The plastic tore and construction dust and feet stained it. Scott had it cleaned and it didn't come up so they had it replaced. No arguments from them. They are not the cheapest, but they justify their price with their work. My wife and I are extremely happy with Unique and will use them again if we have any other home remodeling needs.

Unique Builders, in my experience and opinion, has unethical business practices and I would…read morerecommend not working with them. When I declined to continue with a project with Brandon, the company inflated charges to consume the majority of the deposit that I paid them. No physical work was ever performed yet they charged $175 per hour in labor for sending one email to my insurance carrier asking why Xactimate charges were not accepted. They then charged $125 for two Xactimate reports: along with the labor to produce the reports. Very unethical. The owner Darryl stated that they are not in the business of assisting clients in getting work done elsewhere and proceeded to do with my deposit whatever he saw fit for his pockets. I would advise not to use ths company, but if you do.... DO NOT PAY DEPOSIT BY CHECK! They will tell you that to use a credit card the fee is a high percent however, I found, that they do this to keep your deposit because if you pay by check you will have no ally with the bank to dispute funds as you would with a credit card. I would have paid a set fee for an Xactimate with any other company from $60 - $100 with no hourly rate attached. They literally assumed my deposit by charging me for two reports and labor of $175 per hour, which they say was over 3 hours to generate the report.... I guess the paper for the report is $125 and the labor is $175 per hour forover 3 hours for a 3 page report. So unethical. Very bad business practices. The contract states the deposit is refundable if services are not rendered but that is false. I understand taking a flat fee for Xactimates but Darryl went overboard to assume as much of the deposit as possible... Please do your homework on multiple companies... I would not recommend Unique Builders.

Terrible experience. We had a huge desk stained with the owner stating they will strip the previous…read morestain before application. They did not do that and the stain they applied starting chipping months later. We paid $1200 for this project. We explained our issue to the owner and he came out to take a look. He explained that it was due to the previous stain causing his stain to come off. (It was chipping like paint) and that it was not his problem. When discussing further he started yelling and me and raising his hands around while I am sitting in chair. We talked later on the phone and he refused to redo the project and refused to give us our money back. He called me and my husband ignorant and "fuckers". DO NOT USE THIS GUY. He is rude, arrogant, and will do a rushed job and lie to your face about it.

In my reply, I gave them my cell number and requested they text before calling, as I don't answer strange numbers, and that I would not be available on certain specific days of the week -- and what do you know, they called without texting (strike one) and asked to schedule for a day I said I was not available (strike two). We did agree on a day/time that worked for me and they were a no-show, without any notice that they weren't planning to come by (strike three). Later that day, they asked to come out and I would have been okay, but I work from home on the days I am at the house and I explained that I could not walk around the outside of the house with them (due to the timing and my schedule) but could spend a few minutes orienting them (we have no dogs in the yard or anything hazardous) and they could email me the estimate. Instead, they tried to reschedule (strike four?). At which point I figured I had one estimate in-hand, another company had looked at my house and I was expecting an estimate at any time, and I had yet another company that hadn't been out yet. I explained this politely and then got three, one-line comments through the Yelp portal to the effect that they regret missing the appointment. I regret it, also, but I expected to be treated more professionally by someone who wants my business.

I should have written this a while ago-- we had Next Door paint out the inside of the home we…read morebought. This included walls, ceilings, baseboards, doors and even refinishing the kitchen cabinets. They were so easy to work with-- from the quote to scheduling the work and following up for touch ups. It couldn't have been easier which was surprising given the size of the project. They are bonded and insured and have a supervisor who manages the whole project end to end. The painting of everything turned out really well. The best part though by far was the kitchen cabinets. They were a very light oak color; nice cabinets but a bit outdated in terms of color. The team removed the doors, took them offsite to sand them down and spray them. They turned out perfect-- I get compliments on them all the time. They also refinished a stair banister and fireplace mantel. Both were painted black so these were no small jobs. We had these painted white as well and they turned out beautifully. Their prices were fair, their work was great and the overall project management couldn't have been better. I highly recommend Next Door.

If Kroger's only sold items for over $20 I'd give them a bad review too.
