For all the women here's a PSA: there's a good chance they will give you a very bad haircut. I asked for bob and got a terrible terrible haircut ended up cutting my hair BOY short. The worst ever experience in a salon. Damascuts sounds similar to dumbass-cuts. Cuz that's what you are if you go here.. it was a couple years back that I experienced this, my hair has grown out. But I remember the blonde girl here gave my a dirty look when I came in, that should have been my first hint. Just be warned. I'm so happy my hair has grown out, and going to your salon is one of my biggest regrets.

I live in the area and was looking to get a blowout before a date on a Friday. The reviews for the…read moresalon were great and I was happy to find it out was 5 minutes away. I booked a blowout with Emily for 4:30. Around mid-day she let me know she had a cancellation and was able to see me sooner. I moseyed on over to the salon around 3:30 and was welcomed by the team at the salon. Emily came out to greet me and we were off to the races! I have 24" hand-tied extensions so I was used to folks taking an hour and a half when it came to a blowout and curling my luscious locks. Emily went to work and I was done within an hour and it looked *so* good. Little did I know my $50 blowout would also come with a comedy hour. We laughed the entire session and let me tell you, I'm an awkward introvert but Emily is such a welcoming presence, I felt comfortable sharing my dark sense of humor from the get-go. I'll be back in a few weeks for another blowout and I'm really happy I came in today. Pete Davidson forever.

I don't think I've ever been recognized by my Yelp reviews upon returning to a business, but it…read morehappened when I needed a haircut at Portland Beauty School this week. I'm not writing an update and giving it a better rating because they asked what they could do to get a better rating or because I felt obligated in any way. I'm giving it a better rating because the reason I write so many Yelp reviews is so that people can have reliable opinions about businesses and so that businesses can get better at what they do. The staff and Portland Beauty School cares about the opinions of reviewers and for that, I think they deserve the boost. My visit here this week went well. It was much less hectic than the first time I visited, so it's good to know it's not always like that. I had a better understanding of what kind of haircut I wanted as the first time I had no idea really how to describe it. The student I had this time seemed more knowledgeable and confident, which is always nice when someone is holding scissors right next to your head. Whenever my regular hairdresser (my mother) is too busy to do my hair, Portland Beauty School will be at the top of my list for places to go.

To them/staff you are just a paycheck, once you are done having grey hairs and no sleep and not having a life because the school is so short and once you go over something in class there is no going back it's here's a book have fun! If you happen to pass everything then go to the state board pass that test get your transcript it's a fee to get the certificate like I already gave you thousands of dollars!! after all that hard work it's fee fee fee fee hidden fees everywhere is so unprofessional! Do not go to school here. Now I was a model for a friend as I previously said besides the mold, cob webs, and yard sale curtains it's not bad oh almost forgot the room when your getting a facial is right outside the cosmetology students no big deal if you like loud music or right as you walk out of the room there are stands blocking you in oh and when you ask them nicely to turn the music down that's right you guessed it they turn it back up or even louder
