During summer, the golf course is a goat track. The golf boss is a jerk, even though the other employees are super nice. They have cruddy gas-powered carts, and no beverage cart service ever! During nicer weather, the (senior citizen) Snow Birds flock there in droves, so playing times are always well over 4 hours! The boss treats Golf Pass members like beggars and thieves! Clubhouse manager should have mentioned that all the fairways were being worked on! Groundskeeper was plugging and vacuuming the Fairways! All the water stations were empty, no beverage cart! Our tee time was at 1:15 and we tee'd off around 2. The course was packed and rangers did nothing to keep things moving so total time was 5 hours for an ~$80 tee time. Would be worth it if you didn't have to wait on every single tee box. Conditions weren't bad overall but it's hard to enjoy when you're sitting around that much. Might come back if they spaced the tee times better but one of the worse golf experiences I've had in the Valley. read more

Too much money for the condition of the course. We play here in a league twice a week and don't get a break on the price....in fact, we usually pay more than their online advertised prices. They are making an effort to improve but we've lived here 15 years and the course is in the worst shape ever. Tee boxes are uneven, fairways have lots of dirt areas and the greens are just ok (although be prepared to putt over mole tracks on a couple greens). Played a 4.5 hr round yesterday, lots of waiting and at times we had three groups on the same tee box. read more

We just played today 3-23-24 for our first time and had an amazing time! The staff was nice and courteous, 7:30am tee time and was able to finish the entire round in 3.5 hours. Course was great, greens and fairways groomed super well. Some of the tee boxes need work but glad to hear they are going to renovate them this summer. All in all worth the price and will come back next year when we are here for the spring training games. read more

I can imagine that many years ago this was a nice golf venue. Not anymore. We will not go back. Fairways and tee boxes were terrible. Greens we're ok. Play was very slow. No driving range etc. not impressed. Better to spend a few more dollars and get a much better experience. read more

We had a group reservation of 57 planned for over two weeks and when we got here it was poorly set up and planned by the manager. His comment was "well what am I supposed to do, you all came at once." We paid $20 each and that was to include a sandwich or a Cobb salad, a side of our choice, a drink and gratuity. We didn't receive drinks and were only offered French fries as a side. Dave, the manager, was very condescending and rude. After realizing how upset we were, he offered a discount. Course is close to home but that's the only redeeming value. The tee boxes are HORRENDOUS, lumpy, barren, very little grass and not level. Fairways are patchy, burned out, unseeded, unwatered. They still charge full price knowing they have just been aerated and HEAVILY sanded! I'd skip this place for at least a month and if you decide to give them your money, ask, at the very least, if the tee boxes have grass, not a uneven clumpy mess. I'll try them next year. Well, wish I had read the reviews here before we played today. Horrible experience. Horrendous. We were 4 deep by the time we got to 6. We left after 12 - couldn't take the slow play anymore. The twosome in front of us left as well. Brutal. No course Marshall. Beer cart at 1 and at 11. No turn to grab a snack or go to the bathroom. Did not see bathrooms, although my husband said he saw a sign around 10. Understand that it is fall, so cart path only for re-seeding, but the fairways were awful. Clumps of grass from mowing all over. When we walked off, we told the bag guys that things were backed up because of a foursome now on 15 that had fallen two holes behind. He said he might go out there and see what was going on. I guarantee that he did nothing. Too many other options too bother playing here. Save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere. read more

Expensive and not worth it. We stayed at Painted Mountain because it was recommended as being close to the venue for a wedding we attending. Positives: It was reasonably close to the wedding venue. It was clean. As for the rest... Reception staff was surly and unhelpful from check in to check out. Though we made the reservation months in advance we were given a very noisy room on top of a busy street. Both nights parking was inconvenient. Check out of 10 AM was inflexible- not great for post wedding celebration morning and afternoon flight. read more

Talk about a blast from the past. This place so reminds me of the cool and fancy places from the 80s and early 90s. Which is good. I like the retro ness of it all. It has a dance floor in the bar ,with a little platform for live music. It was decorated beautifully for the holidays. Every little corner had something nicely decorating it. They have a lovely balcony overlooking the golf course. Where you can sit and dine in the warmer days. As we all know the Valley has been incredibly cold the last two weeks ! In the 30's and 40's. We had a wonderful table overlooking the Golf Course. We came in for Breakfast. But, they also serve Lunch and Dinner. As well as special party's. I think it would be really nice for a small Wedding, baptism or Communion ,etc party. It reminds me so much of when I was younger, it's a comfortable feeling. They had a gorgeous Christmas tree surrounded by presents and decorations. That was my favorite part ,it was beautiful. I ordered my favorite go to that I order everywhere for breakfast. Eggs Benedict.( I enclosed a photo.) The English muffins we're not really toasted very well and I got what looked like a spoonful of potatoes . I would've liked a little more. Mr. M had breakfast with eggs, bacon,and potatoes. He asked for the potatoes crispy so they crisped up the bacon too. He said it was almost too hard to eat. Prices were comparable to other breakfast restaurants. Now we know how to ask for the breakfast next time. The coffee was great ! Our Server was wonderful. I'm sorry I can't remember his name . I will definitely go back to this place. In fact I'm looking forward to it. I love the way it's decorated and the energy there. Lots of parking in the lot . The restrooms are clean and nicely decorated also. We did have to walk up the stairs to get inside. But, I'm sure there's handicap access somewhere to get in. read more

We met our friends there for a karaoke evening. I am giving our experience a 4 star because it was fun to see all those seniors having a wonderful time, kicking their heels and heartfully singing tunes from their generation. Food there is passable, staff is great, DJ team is amazing. DJ was very considerate of all aspiring singers. She let all them sing without favoritism using a rotation system. The lounge is very outdated, carpet is smelly. Bathrooms are very clean. read more

My wife and I met some friends for karaoke and had a great time. The crowd there was very old but full of life and fun which made for an entertaining evening. The wait staff did a great job but the food was was not what we came for as it was kind of blah. Like a lot of golf courses in the east valley this golf course lounge is outdated and had an musty smell due to the 40 year old carpet still in place. Golf course was enjoyable and in good shape for the summer. My concern is that we played in the afternoon when it was 110 degrees out. There were big signs posted that you couldn't bring your own drinks or coolers. Then while playing the course, there was no water in the provided coolers nor a cart person at all during the round. This is negligence and could result in someone getting heat stroke. Shame on you!! read more

A ranger today MARCHED up to our putting green, while we were putting no less... to inform us "we better stick to cart path, members are behind us and they are my boss and they are upset"! Well sir... we NEVER went off cart path & YOU single handedly ruined our day:( with your rude and unwarranted approach to us. Weak Painted Mountain! We were 8 EXPERIENCED PAYING golfers who KNOW golf etiquette and would NEVER approach a foursome on the green like the "Ranger" did (let alone with accusations that were totally unfounded)!! We had the worst service ever here last night at the bar. Stopped in after golf for happy hour beers and the lady waiting on us was the rudest person ever terrible customer service. Our bill came and we weren't told that 16 oz beers are $4 but 22 oz are $9 crazy $5 extra for an extra 6oz. Again server was super rude again and obviously we will never return here. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place!! I was searching for a location to throw my dads 79th birthday party and invite a large group for a private party. Painted mountain really hooked me up with not just a great location, but a great staff and management that helped put it all together. I rented out the Patio on May 27th and they allowed me to bring in my own caterer, Dj Equipment, and most of the decorations. The staff helped put up all the decorations and set up the tables and chairs to the exact design the food and beverage manager agreed to. They allowed me to bring a Costco cake and kept it in the fridge till we needed it. Honestly, I felt like they were giving us more then what we paid for. While we had the party we had 2 waitresses getting drinks for the guests and again helping with anything I needed ( I give them a lot of props because they never let me run out of beer)... We had another room off to the side that was empty for our "overflow" area. We used their TV to have a slide show of my dad that everyone went in and enjoyed throughout the night. We told them a total of monies we wanted to go towards drinks and they were so great at giving me a heads up when we were getting close to the tab cap (without making it awkward). This was my dads last birthday and it really meant a lot to the attention to detail and how courteous the staff was to us all. The location was perfect and beautiful at night. They separated their karaoke area with sliding glass doors and I could barely even hear anything on that side. My husband had raved about lunches on golf day so when he suggested Easter Dinner there, I agreed. Considering how difficult it's been for restaurants to retain help through this crazy COVID time, I truly felt sorry for them. They had an ambitious menu including Prime Rib, Lamb, Coconut shrimp, etc. We had a 3:00 reservation and were seated about 3:50. Someone in the waiting (somewhat restless ) crowd suggested they pour wine, which they did. Being a bit fussy about my wine, I chose to fore-go the cheap stuff and wait for the 'good stuff'. After waiting 15 minutes for a waitperson to come to our table, we finally asked a bus person if we had a waiter and 5 min later, one arrived and took our drink order. . .first a salad came but no dressing. She said she forgot to ask what kind. It was brought shortly. Then came the drinks. When the wine arrived, it was warm, tasted like Morgan David, not a decent Malbec . They charged $8 for a small glass of very poor wine, not a nice Malbec as ordered. A Makers Mark Manhattan was ordered...a glass of Jim Beam (I know it wasn't Makers Mark) with 2 cherries, no vermouth arrived 5 minutes after the bad wine. Finally, the food came 1 hour after we were seated.. Two prime ribs which we're good but not cooked as ordered. The shrimp came from a box, butterflied and battered, I'm guessing Gorton. An odd relish was served with it. Unfortunately, there was no organization in the service and it only added to the chaos. They offered a meal they had no chance of serving the numbers of people they took reservations for. Many people waited a long time, then left. I'd suggest that they not have such ambitious plans next time and perhaps serve a buffet brunch that can be handled with a limited staff and kitchen. And maybe train those few servers who were just as frustrated as the patrons. read more

What a terrible Thanksgiving! The service was the worst we have ever had. Service and Food was simply awful! 1-1/2 in of a sweet potato. Cold stuffing (a scoop the size of a melon ball, Dried out turkey that had crusted dried edges, cold and fatty. The mashed potatoes were so salty you couldn't eat them without having them burn your lips. We were never asked if we wanted coffee or offered pie! Which also was terrible. How does anyone ruin pumpkin pie! Terrible food terrible service! I understand holidays are busy, clearly this organization can not handle it. They appear to price gauge. I will never recommend dining here to anyone! Not only that, multiple members of our party were sick today! Thanks Painted Mountain! If I could rate this a 1/4 star I would do so. From the start, the round was going to be ugly regardless. As usual the starter is running around in shambles trying to get us carts and groups out on time. We have a group of SIX in front of us which is two women and children which is whatever to us, we're patient and know they are all enjoying themselves so who cares. The first tee box has multiple signs stating "cart path only!" So of course we oblige. Fast forward to hole 5, mins you there was no other signs on the previous holes stating that it was cart path only. We all tee off and pull up to our shots on the far right side of the fairway and we're then approached by the most disgruntled marshal on the planet apparently. First thing he does is yell at us to get me and my fathers attention then says "get the fuck over here". So I drive us over to see what the issue is and word for word this is what he told us. "You and you need to leave, Get the fuck off of my golf course" I was completely taken off guard and asked what we did wrong. "you guys were told from The clubhouse and starter the course is cart path only. I have no leeway for this. Get off the course now" we tried to talk to him and plead our case that we were under the assumption it was only the first hole that was cart path only because we weren't told. again he feels the need to be disrespectful and tell us again to "get the fuck off of the course" at this point I'm pissed off and told him he's being an asshole which I'm told to fuck myself. My dad being the saving grace in the situation tells me to leave it alone and leave so we do. I don't know his name but he's an older man with horrendous teeth, that's about all I can do to explain him. Save your money, time and patience and go elsewhere. Place is a dumpster fire with a staff that takes zero accountability for horrible customer service. read more

Very fun for karaoke and people watching! We went for an after thanksgiving family gathering and they had room for a big group. Several family members gained the confidence to even sing and the crowd was welcoming and joined along. Downsides were the food and the " senior" crowd - and we are seniors! The food was ok but nothing special or different. If you like steak or fried it's there! The staff was super- has been there for years and knew most of the clientele. They were a bit short staffed though and it took quite a while to get drinks and food due to how many tables the two staff members had to cover. We played the golf course and were very disappointed. There were no marshalls and the groups were sent out way too close together. Consequently, we waited on every hole. The carts are old and need updating. The cart paths were full of "chuck holes" and disrepair. Some of the greens appeared to be diseased. This was a frustrating experience. We put our name on the list when we arrived but they did not seat parties in the order of arrival even though the groups were the same size. 4 out of 5 in our party chose the buffet. I ordered biscuits and gravy. Those that ordered the buffet had fruit, the main course and dessert but the biscuits and gravy still had not arrived. I spoke to the manager and he did not care so I just cancelled the B&G order. Jessica K, our waitress did not make any effort to resolve the issue and neither did the manager. Jessica brought the bill and processed the credits cards. The manager then came by the table and offered that I could go to the buffet to get the biscuits and gravy. By this time we were leaving. Nice views of the golf course and mountains while dinning. The food and the service lacked allot. Living in the area we had out of town friends meet us for breakfast. The menu was good. Our guests arrived first and ordered coffee. We waited for the wait staff to bring cups but ended up going to another table to get our own. One of our party ordered chicken fried steak and was brought and charged for the more expensive steak. Another asked for sour cream to accompany an omelette. It never arrived. Potatoes were absolutely stone cold. the farmers scramble was rubber and nearly burnt on the bottom.
