Spin Art Raleigh - We're excited to bring the Spin Art Nation experience to the Triangle Area!

One of my friends chose to paint a bear instead, and it turned out super cute. Now I want to go back just to make a bear too! I also love that Spin Art keeps your artwork until it dries so you can pick it up later. Just a heads up: we completely missed the tripod sitting in the corner of the splatter room. So if you go, look for the tripod so you can capture all your memories! Such a fun experience...highly recommend!

When we got there, we were greeted and got set up immediately. We were given protective pants that covered your shoes and a protective top that had a hood. There was also glasses, gloves, and hair ties available, so if you're afraid of getting dirty, DONT BE! The spinning itself is very simple and to the point! Mix your colors, place them on the canvas, and spin! The hardest thing is coming up with a cool design, but we were able to get it right with our second canvas. At the end, we had the option of taking our wet canvas to go in a pizza box, using their dryer for an extra charge or leaving it until we were ready to pick up. This was really fun, and I would definitely do it again!

I appreciate the booking process because it shows you how many spots are left, so that we could monitor the website and decide whether or not we need to purchase soon. We were waiting out the rain chance and did not want to book if it was going to get rained out, but knowing that there were several options for availability allowed us to flexibility to walk in. I like that you are provided with new gloves to use and keep. Places in the past have lettuce used old ones that we returned. I think it would be nice to have that option available to customers. Also, ideally the finger parts of the gloves would be a little bit longer because I did get some cuts on my fingers where they stopped. You have to sit through a training which is about 15 to 20 minutes long which feels long but is probably very necessary based on what you need to know to handle the equipment on your own. The staff members were all very kind as well so it was helpful to have them talk through. Difficulty rangers from kids level all the way up to double black diamond, which even our most active people did not attempt. If you're planning on doing either of the black courses, I would definitely recommend just doing one warm-up course so that you don't tire yourself out. We started on the greens, and then did a blue, and then barely made it through the first black. We did have someone who started a black and then realized she could not handle it. It would be great if part of the training could include an exit strategy in case that were to happen. In this case, the person had only made it through one obstacle and had to make it back, which was already difficult enough for her, but thankfully it was only one. I'm curious what would have happened if she made it further through the course and could not finish. Overall this was a really great activity for any age level, any skill level, and for any group or individual. I would definitely come back and am eager to try the double black diamonds next time!

She did find the locking and unlocking of the carabiners a bit difficult hence just did level one. The next time we went with friends and their little ones who also found it very difficult to clip/ unclip them but otherwise loved it too ! The team is very helpful they give great instructions and help those who need it. We also did try their putting course but it was not very lit and hence wasn't exciting. Will def be back during the summer months and day time

My first Raleigh food tour was a great introduction to Raleigh and how I learned to get around in Downtown Raleigh. So since then I always try to find a food tour while traveling. Even though I've taken the Raleigh tour multiple times it has not been the same exact tour as the restaurants rotate so the route changes. Taste Carolina has tours in Raleigh; Durham; Hillsborough; Asheville; Winston Salem; Greensboro; Chapel Hill; Charlotte and Wilmington. Besides Raleigh, I've been on the Hillsborough tour; Durham tour and Wilmington tour. The only tour that wasn't up to par with the other Taste Carolina tours was the Wilmington tour. I do not recommend that tour. The website is easy to use and book the tour you want to take and you can list any food restrictions or food allergies. They try to accommodate. Then you are provided a starting location and parking suggestions. On tour day, you meet your guide and you are off exploring the town as well as discovering restaurants you might not have heard of before. Back when I started these tours, my palate was limited. These tours exposed me to foods I never would have ordered. Some I loved and others not so much but that is all part of the experience to try new things. Generally there are about five or six stops on the tour. You will be given your dish then usually the chef or owner comes out and tells you about the dish and the history of the restaurant. On my last tour I took the Durham tour a second time. At the stating point, the guide had the route we'd be walking on a map with all the restaurants we'd be stopping. I learned some new areas in Durham and went to new restaurants. I regularly eat at several restaurants I was introduced to on the first Durham tour. I've tried to take the Asheville tour for years but the weeks it runs never meshes when I am in town. March will take me on the Greensboro tour though. This was recommended to me by someone on my Durham food tour.

The site itself is quite nice and very large. Apparently renovations were done recently so it has an updated feel to it. When you walk in you sign up to race at the counter area, and you also take your picture and pick a racing name. The majority of our group was guys, with the exception of three ladies. Us ladies didn't race and instead ended up getting drinks from the bar, playing a few of the arcade games, and cheering on our guy friends who raced. The bar area has a pretty good selection of drinks and food, and for it being an "amusement" type center, I'd say the quality was pretty decent! There were a solid amount of things you could do besides the racing. They had axe throwing, a rock climbing wall, arcade games, and an interactive game arena. The racing did look fun and our friends had a good time doing it. Those karts go up to around 40mph so they're no joke. I do feel like they do a good job with their safety measures. They give you solid racing helmets, and if you spin out they'll make sure to help safely get you straightened back out. They'll also enforce some set track rules to make sure you're racing safely. My two friends and I watched our other friends race from a large viewing platform near the top of the track. The only negative thing I'd say about our experience is that it's loud (I'm sensitive to high pitched squealing sounds, so I shoved some bits of napkin in my ears and that helped lol), heavily smells of gas (they do have ventilation in place but it's still very noticeable), and it's also pretty hot in there. The area with the arcade, bar, and other entertainment is separate from the racing track, which is good because you can get some relief in between races in there. Overall, it was a fun experience! We all had a good time and would go back again. This time I'd bring ear plugs lol.

I asked an employee how do they deal with it because we stopped racing after our second time and went inside.
