We have done several NERD escape rooms and decided to give Room 5280 a try. A friendly, attentive employee greeted us upon arrival. He clearly provided instructions and shared the room's accompanying story. The Sherlock room was shorter than we hoped, but it had decent challenges. We needed one hint and completed the room with about 15 min to spare. The employee hosting kept up with our progress and provided our requested clue in a timely manner. They have a bathroom to use and you can keep your things in the room with you. Bring a jacket as it was a bit chilly inside during our stay. I believe he said that room 5280 was going to update their rooms soon. I'm definitely looking forward to returning to try the updated rooms!

I bid on level-one improv classes at a charity gala and was eager to sign up and get started. I…read morewas also VERY nervous about it. Upon meeting Jill, our instructor and the co-owner/founder, I calmed down quite a bit. I think I fully came out of my shell mid-way through the semester, and then I liked it so much, I signed up for level two. I had so much fun! I haven't flexed these muscles since drama class in high school (no way am I telling you how long that's been - but it's been a LONG time). Jill creates a safe space and lets you explore in your own way. She gives prompts, clarifies, and gives excellent feedback; it truly is a fun time. I enjoyed getting to know my classmates; we all come from different backgrounds, but bonded really nicely. I have also popped in for Leela's drop-in sessions on Thursdays. That is an entirely different experience, but also very fun. They also do a free first Friday event each month, so if you are curious, I recommend signing up for that first. Raleigh is lucky to have such a great space with such wonderful people, and I'm lucky to have found them. :)
