Lawsuit Update: Per the Judges findings: "We acknowledge that" plaintiff's "allegations describe a troubling scheme whereby Waychoff defrauded "plaintiff's "insurer. But the insurer is not a party, and" plaintiff "failed to sufficiently allege that she suffered personal harm as a result of the claimed fraud." From what I understand, I could not be a victim of fraud because personal injury doesn't fall under fraud damages and I only paid for co-pays. I was informed my insurance company would be the victim of the fraud. Facts: In the lawsuit, Pierce Waychoff stated he never treated me. He proved care to me at every appt except 1. Waychoff provided massage therapy, chiropractic adjustments, took my blood pressure, took my x-rays, provided me with a neck brace, back brace and TENS unit. Pierce Waychoff talked to me about almost every treatment I received. My medical records were forged in multiple ways. I was signed up for a 5-year prescription for multiple pain creams. Apparently, I was never expected to be out of pain. PIerce Waychoff told me I needed to take a "mandatory" drug test before I could be prescribed pain medication. I advised I was already on pain medication from the ER. Waychoff told me it was state law. This is false. The drug test was $10k and my insurance would not cover it. This conversation was recorded, which is not a crime as I was a party to the conversation. AZ is a 1-party consent state in regards to recording others. I was repeatedly lied to. I was told I was going to get a blood test. I asked for what. He stated it was a general blood test to check my liver, thyroid etc. In reality it was a very expensive DNA test my insurance would not cover. I was told I needed a nerve conduction test. I had it on the effected arm but he insisted I do both arms. I did both. He then insisted I do both legs and I refused. I was given an expensive allergy test despite being there for shoulder pain. I was misdiagnosed with a neck issue when in fact I had a slipped rib. Pierce Waychoff personally gave me a massage and jammed his thumb into the bend of my elbow and was popping something around while I writhed in pain. I later had to receive treatment by AZ Spine Disc and Sport to treat the damage he caused. Any medical professional who heard what he did was appalled and said they couldn't think of a valid medical reason for what he did as that area of the arm/elbow is known to be a hazard/no touch zone. I left Pain Stop North Phoenix because I was repeatedly lied to, misdiagnosed, given unnecessary medical treatments and injured. I was in pain for 6 weeks. I left Pain Stop North Phoenix and went to AZ Spine Disc and Sport and was properly diagnosed immediately...within a few minutes of seeing the doctor. AZ Spine Disc and Sport got me out of pain within the week. Since I left Pain Stop North Phoenix I have been contacted by approximately a dozen patients stating they had similar experiences and I am aware of other lawsuits. My attorney was Paul D. Friedman. Be wary of this doctor and his wife. I was a previous patient at his former practice near Greenway and 32nd St. I don't recall the name but it was not Pain Stop. Apparently he changed the name of the practice and relocated it. The insurance billing was shady (Pierce asked me, "How much can you pay?") There's something fishy about this couple...and it stinks. Keep records. Record conversations. Do what you need to do to make sure their practice is being honest. read more

I went to this practice because of pain in my shoulder. I went twice a week for about 8 weeks. They injected me with at least cortisone shots in my neck. They also gave me 2 shots that I had to put under anesthesia. My insurance was billed $1500.00 both times when I might have been out five minutes. The insurance company sent me the $$ for those two services which I was smart enough deposit the checks and write them a check to have for my records. I was given a back brace and I asked why. The guy that works the front said don't worry your insurance will pay for it. They charged my insurance company over $2000.00. I went on Amazon and saw the identical back brace for $145.00. They then gave me an upper back brace and I was told the same thing. When I stopped going I was billed a massive amount for what they said I owed even though my insurance paid them. I called my insurance company and gave them all this information and it was being sent to the fraud department. I never heard from them again. I don't understand why the AMA is not looking into this and shut them down. Please DO NOT GO THE PAIN STOP. read more

I do appreciate his effort - but then my voicemail received a call from the main appointment center, telling me that I wasn't able to make my appointment? Wow, this place - mainly the appointment desk - really needs to get their act together! I still won't be going back - there are many other "pain management" clinics. read more

I wish there was an option for no stars. Please be cautious when using this facility. My daughter used this facility and they stated they would only charge what the insurance would pay. Two years after her last appointment, we were notified of a lawsuit against us for non payment. We had done exactly what they asked. Our insurance sent checks to us which we endorsed and sent to them. They claimed they did not receive payment. After several months of trying to sort things out, their lawyer threatened us with filing the suit even though we were working diligently to correct this issue. We decided rather than to go to court we would pay the amount requested and continue to work with our insurance. Conveniently after our check was cashed we were informed by our insurance that the original checks were cashed as well. Since we had endorsed the checks and forwarded them to this business they now have the insurance payment as well as our payment that we sent to them so they have double payments. We can't prove it because we endorsed and mailed them to this company like they asked. Make sure you cash any insurance checks and write them a personal check for historical records. I would hate to see someone else get swindled out of their hard earned money like we were. read more

PAIN STOP IS A SCAM! They will make you pay almost nothing but bill the hell out of your insurance. Within the first month I received a bill for $15,000! I was given back braces, electro magnets for my back, ANYTHING to bill the crap out of the insurance. After 20 physical therapy sessions, nothing is better. I asked for the dates I came for medical records and was told I have to PAY to get the dates that I came to their place. This place is ASKING for a lawsuit. They won't even see you unless they can run and check your insurance first. They don't give a SHIT about their patients, only care about the $ from the insurance scam they are running. This place just collects insurance money. They do NOT care about their patients. I went to a real doctor, BY THE WAY THERE ARE NO REAL DOCTORS HERE. JUST A CHIROPRACTOR. I was told to stop massaging my tendonitis by a specialist last week. Wait, WHAT! Pain stop just gave me 20 physical therapy massage sessions! No wonder I'm still in massive amounts of pain. The specialist said pain stop may of actually made the problem worse. Watch..when you go in, he will x Ray your spine and tie the reason you are in there for issues with your spine. He will then recommend 30 physical therapy sessions either 1-3 times a week. Avoid this place and see a REAL doctor. UPDATE: it's been almost 2 years and now I'm getting a bill for an electrode pack. They give me the electrodes, but I NEVER asked to be set up for a 1 year prescription! I am getting a bill for $508 for a prescription I never set up! read more

The doctors here are not very knowledgeable. Dr. Pierce was not able to help me. He didn't seem to understand what was wrong with my back, or how to fix it. I really enjoyed the massage time. That part of the service did help some. However, the massage time kept getting shorter and shorter for every visit. Until it was limited to 4-5 minutes. So that ended up to be no help. I don't have insurance so I had agreed to monthly payments plan they gave me. However the monthly payments kept changing. Every month they decided to raise my rates. I could not afford to keep going. Especially when I was in so much pain and nothing was being done about it. Dr. Pierce seemed to be a very plastic person. He did not seem sincere at all when talking to me. WARNING: To begin with they gave a 20 year old a general that they couldn't wake him up from. As I watched his oxygen levels drop off since he wasn't breathing, they ran to call 911 and had no idea what to do! They left me alone with him while they ran circles trying to figure out the next step. An anesthesiologist ran in and slammed his hand down onto my son's chest and began to grab his skin and shake him. He did wake up finally and I am grateful for that, but after this event nothing was said or done other than everyone seemed to have a great laugh...WTF! In the end they did nothing that helped him, and if they knew what they were doing they would have sent him to a surgeon which is where he is now. HOWEVER In the beginnning, they claimed they MUST do "urine tests" to watch for potassium levels...which LATER we found out was really DRUG TESTING. They said "just bring us any bills you recieve and we will take care of it, and added that the urine tests were STATE REQUIRED...THEN THE LAB BILLED FOR BOTH HIM AND HIS FATHER WHO ISN'T EVEN A PATIENT! In trying to resolve this I contacted the lab with the phone humber that Amanda at Pain Stop gave me the number for, and it turned out to be some guy in California who was in a gym on a treadmill when he answered...what professionals... and he said as long as it is being billed to the primary insurance holder, it doesn't matter WHO they claim as their patient...BUT THEY FILED MULTIPLE CLAIMS FOR BOTH! Drug testing??? His father's company could have fired him!!!. It also appeared while there on a Saturday for injections, that most of their patients looked like druggies from the state pen and were arriving via medical transport units. Free highs here? On the other hand, another family member has been going here for a while and did recieve some benefit but has never been "drug tested". STATE REQUIRED HUH? RUDE MUCH? ..I took the bills to pain stop LIKE THEY ASKED US TO, and asked to speak with "Amanda", the lady who does insurance/billing and the girl at the front desk said "Let me see if she is here and if she can see you" and proceeded to sit down and do nothing...after waiting 10 minutes a lady who had been sitting silent at another desk five feet to my left, got up and approached me and asked if she could help me. HOW RUDE! She sat silent five feet away from the front desk when I came in and asked to speak with her! Didn't matter though, she says they can't help with what WE OWE THE LAB! THESE TESTS COST $2,000 per "urine" test. I don't know where the lies started or if they will ever end. Stopped services in 2014, getting new bills after paying for same service date!!! I am absolutely apaulled and think i should go ahead and push forward to speak with the insurance fraud department. This has been a nightmare. read more

I have had nothing but an amazing experience since starting with this clinic. Dr. Pierce is very efficient and present. He thoroughly explains any treatment, procedures, or questions that I have. All of the team members are great, I'm greeted by name with a smile every visit. I worked previously with a different clinic for over three years and the results I've experienced with Dr. Pierce and his team have been completely different results. The clinic doesn't press medication (which has been my previous experience), and instead gets to the root of the issue. Both NP's are great, personable, and know their stuff. Haha. I have a degenerative disease in my spine that has caused life changing pain. In the last 5 years it has gotten dramatically worse. About a year ago I discovered North Phoenix Pain Center- now Pain Stop. The care I have received there has dramatically improved my life. Dr. Pierce has listened with a sympathetic ear and is always anxious to help. The staff there has become like an extended family to me. They listen and come up with solutions. This past year I was unable to lay flat on my back without experiences tear inducing spasms. My daily pain was so much that I was exhausted all the time and my episodes and flare ups were ever couple of weeks. This last year is the best I have felt in 10 years. Episodes have dramatically decreased and I don't have to be scared to lay on my back. I can't thank Dr. P and the rest of the staff enough for helping my quality of life. read more

I stopped going because their treatment wasn't working, the time frames were not fesible, and the location was in the opposite direction of where I needed to go the majority of my week. They charged me for days I did not go and have continued to charge for the months I have not been there. I have utilized significantly far less in services then what I owed in just the first month or two. Since I am not using the services there is no reason for them to charge me and Bill my insurance. I really needed something to help with my pain but this just is not what needed and it is hurting my bank account as well. read more

I just had my first appointment with Dr Pierce and the medical NP for a facet muscle injection, physical exam. The staff is great, the therapists are nice and good. I know I have a really, and I mean really bad back so I will be a challenge for them. I will try to take it one day at a time, follow Drs orders and hope for the best!! Wow is this place bad, poor treatment and they charge the crap out of your insurance, nothing but a scam. They said they would order pain cream for my back and the item showed up in the mail and I can't use it and charged my insurance over $3,000, instructions stated it was for a pre-skin cancerous issue and I have a back problem, one of the creams stated it could cause heart attacks and I've already had 3, no collecting info about your condition. They wanted to do an epidural injection without taking me off of my blood thinner, complete frauds, would never, ever recommend anyone going to this place for treatment, my chiropractic treatment was a joke, nothing but an insurance billing machine and this is why healthcare costs are so expensive, it's because of robbers like these people, supposedly had a free consultation and found out they charged my insurance $500 for two x rays and then Dr. Pierce couldn't even tell me what was wrong with me but still wanted to do 36 treatments and drag them out for 4-6 months after telling me they would be 3 times a week!!!! CAUTION : CAUTION , something is going on here not sure if it's a scam or what. They set you up tell you if you pay this amount up front you will have nothing further out of pocket. Then they start doing testing that has nothing to do with pain, it appeared to be so they could bill your insurance. After just 4 visits I realized helping my back pain was not their goal. Six months after I stopped going there got a past due bill, the first bill they had every sent me. This bill of course did not have the amount I had to pay them up front on it, was not credited for that at all. Went in as thought was just an error, but that is not the case. They now wanted me to pay hundreds more then our signed, and verbal agreement. When confronted with this Dr Perice refused to acknowledge the original agreement, just kept saying we have to legally bill you for what the insurance does not pay. He also said multiple time in front of his desk staff I did not have to pay this a and would never receive another bill. When asked to write this on the bill I received, and sign it he refused, the only thing he would sign is a form they had. This document was some kind of hardship unable to pay. This form waived you from paying the bill they sent you, which again showed no credit for the money I paid up front. It is clear they get this all the time people coming in when they were billed when they should not be. I am not sure what that hardship document is used for I suspect they write these off as a business loss. All of this makes me think scam, clearly no proof , I recommend you do not get involved with this business. There is something going on here that is not right. When I looked to see what they billed my insurance, the billings were from names other then Dr Pierce. read more

I read the previous the reviews and its nothing that ive experienced before. The doctors and staff are very helpful and know their stuff. I feel like I am at home when I come here regularly. I highly recommend this clinic to any person looking to relive their pain. I used to have the worst migraines and with the various sessions I can honestly say I do NOT experience anymore. They also helped me find out what I am allergic to, little did I know I was allergic to chicken and tomato's, I would eat those on the regular and could not understand why I having issues internally until I came here and received a blood test.
