So after one or two visits, the check-ins and sessions went pretty smooth, feeling like you were dropping off at a friend's place and surprisingly, I was looking forward to it each week. The physical therapists I had - Ryan and Sam - were responsible and knowledgeable. They were always patient and encouraging during my recovery process, giving me so many good advices that I'm still following now. Mostly importantly, their charge was fair (I didn't realize it until I talked to some of my friends). Overall, if you need PT, highly recommend this place!

ALSO, Ryne was very helpful to help me get past a sketchy bout of Vertigo. Very thankful for the team at Spooner!

DO NOT GO HERE FOR PRP OR STEM CELL INJECTIONS. If 0 stars was possible I would have chosen that…read moreoption. I went to this practice specifically for PRP injections having exhausted so many other treatments for chronic neck pain. Multiple people told me to try this treatment because it helped them immensely. I did three rounds of injections as advised. No imaging/mri was ever taken or done before hand which I questioned. The injections were painful and each time I let them know I was getting much relief. I paid 1675.00 for three treatments and was told that generally helps most people. After the third treatment I was told I may have to much damage and stem cell injections would be the next option. I confirmed with other doctors that stem cells cannot be taken from the stomach area which is what this clinic does. So thankful I did not spend the 5,000 here on that treatment. After being in pain, spending money and getting no relief I moved on and had several second opinions. I learned PRP injections are done very differently and was advised by reputable doctors that I was scammed. An mri is a bare minimum when injecting into the neck and the amount of prp used was extremely low. Also, it is generally one treatment and you are under anesthesia because they go through many layers. When a person is in pain they are desperate for some relief and I feel this clinic took advantage and took my money. The treatments are not being done properly and it creates false hope and then you are left with no relief and cannot get that money back. Unacceptable. Please go to a reputable doctor for PRP if you are considering. I'm trying to get my money back with no luck. I need to have PRP done again elsewhere and the money would go towards it.

I looked up an available chiropractor in Scottsdale, and Abbas was open and able to see me right away, which honestly felt like a lifeline. From the moment I walked in, he was incredibly thorough and thoughtful. He took the time to really understand what had happened, explained what he was seeing, and walked me through the plan of care instead of rushing straight to adjustments. His knowledge is obvious, and his attention to detail made me feel safe and confident despite how much pain I was in. The care itself was outstanding. Not only did he address the immediate issue, but he clearly cared about long-term healing and function. I left feeling relief, reassurance, and like I was in genuinely capable hands. If you're dealing with acute pain, an injury, or just want a chiropractor who actually listens and knows what he's doing, Abbas is exceptional. I would absolutely go out of my way to see him again.

Just as a warning to others, there is a mandatory nonsense pain class required for pain patients, a…read moreweekly class in the afternoons. I don't know how they can possibly convince people who work to attend those ridiculous classes. For instance, and I still have the handouts to prove this, the entire point of one class was to teach us about neuroplasticity, by doing exercises such as padding our heads and rubbing our tummies, and then changing the direction of the rub. This would supposedly reprogram our brains so that our pain would be better. It's a ludicrous money grab and I really think that they should not be charging insurance for those classes. I think they advertise it is complementary, but we all know that hours of professionals' time is not free. Additionally, although I was forgetting about that, having not been there since Dr Stearns unfortunately passed away, I called to inquire about how long they were booking out for ablation treatments, since this is what I normally received, after the initial appointment. The receptionist couldn't answer the question, and told me that I would need to speak with christina, and she could tell me, and I quote, what the average time to schedule a procedure is. I had waited 10 minutes on hold to speak with the receptionist, and then when he transferred me to christina, it was another 7 minutes, at which point the receptionist returned and said Christina would not be able to answer the question. When I was there before, I felt it was obvious that the office staff was poorly trained and unprofessional, and this on top of everything else made me decide to cancel my appointment. Good riddance.

I started as a patient with Integrative Headache Care early this year in hopes of finding treatment…read morefor my migraines. I found Dr. McCoy to be kind, compassionate and knowledgeable in her field. She started me on a treatment regimen that I believe has helped me get a handle on my migraines. However, I recently decided to leave the practice as I don't honestly care for the way it's structured. The "migraine darlings" right now are the biologic injections (Aimovig, Emgality, etc.). Insurance companies are only grudgingly starting to cover them now which means that in nearly every case, a prior authorization will be have to be filed for the insurance. The insurance usually denies it which qualifies the patient for the bridge program provided by the pharmaceutical company. As a chronically sick person, I am very familiar with prior authorizations and deal with them all the time. IHC charges $35 to file prior authorization paperwork. This is the first time I've ever been charged by a doctor's office to do a prior authorization form and it didn't sit well with me. I am presently under care for a severe immune disease and chronic sinus disease - those specialists write prior auths constantly and have never charged me. Additionally, those specialists do follow-up and there was no follow up here. Essentially, they charged me $35 to get me on the Emgality bridge program which is free. I'm pretty certain they outsource all insurance filings which is the reason for the cost of the paperwork. As a chronically sick person, I meet my deductible and out of patient by April of every calendar year. They're sending me bills for a visit that is covered - they just need to refile it. When I tried to talk to the front desk person about this, I was given a phone number to call. Those factors coupled with the utter hassle of seeing a doctor in Scottsdale Quarter (it's barely worth dealing with for fun reasons) have led me to seek a new provider.

Be aware of the potential costs before following the recommended treatment plan…read more My first appointment with Dr. Gupta initially felt encouraging. I had been experiencing headaches daily for five months and was hopeful to find answers. However, as a new patient, I spent less than five minutes with Dr. Gupta. He asked only a few questions, had me turn my head side to side, point to where the pain was, and then recommended a nerve block. When I expressed that the proposed testing "sounded like a lot," I was told by Dr, Gupta the Brain View test and VSAT were necessary to satisfy insurance requirements. Before I had much opportunity to consider my options, I was escorted into another room where the Brain View test was performed. I did not feel like I was given a meaningful choice. The following week, the VSAT test was completed by the receptionist, not a doctor. I was later billed approximately $4,200 for these two tests alone, before even undergoing the recommended nerve block procedure. I was also told these tests would need to be repeated before future procedures, which led me to believe the costs could become substantial over time. As well, their billing department is a nightmare. You will be transferred 3 times before a unprofessional agent can help and abruptly hang up on you. Based on my experience, I decided not to proceed with the nerve block. I encourage others to ask detailed questions about the necessity, frequency, and cost of any recommended testing, verify insurance coverage in advance, and consider obtaining a second opinion before committing to treatment. Mountain View Headache & Spine is incredibly pushy and seems to care more about getting into your wallet than providing quality patient care. I never felt like my needs or concerns were the priority. Instead, every interaction felt focused on selling services or collecting payment. I would not recommend this office if you're looking for a patient-centered experience.
