I mentioned to him that I had filled out 175 question survey, but I guess doctors don't read that before I come in so it was fortunate I ask him what he was going to prescribe and he seemed to be in such a hurry when he asked did I fall? I said no , I did nothing. I just got up out of bed one morning and the pain was there and I was about to say that I had a bone density June 2025 and and it would be nice if you would check that to see if it was osteopenia on my spine or osteoporosis, but he was in a a hurry to leave. He did prescribe a back brace that is helping my pain immensely and two very nice young women fitted it for me. For people who have pain all of the chairs the waiting room and the examination rooms were very fashionable, but excruciatingly painfully low making it very difficult for people with back pain to sit and to get up. The corporation who owns ortho Arizona or whatever conglomerate it is has over 100 physicians as I had asked for a list of physicians. The woman got me in the same day with DR COREY NELSON.. horrible experience.. first they took x-rays which were not necessary because the pain is under my knee in the bursa. The dr came in, pushed on my knee said maybe it's nerve damage I want you to do 8 weeks of physical therapy with their office of course.. and wanted to see me in 8 weeks after PT. he shipped me out the door with only more confusion and literally spent 3 minutes with me. He was guessing as to what is causing the pain, no recommendation for an MRI. Just go do PT with our clinic. Afterwards, my husband brought it to my attention it was likely caused by my patella tendon which can cause burning sensation and pain, when kneeling doing yoga etc. which is exactly what I described to the dr. The dr didn't mention anything about the tendon, the patella tendon or a bursa inflammation.. in summary, I was charged for a 3 minute dr visit and x-rays I didn't need and started the booking process for the PT that I'm cancelling today. A complete waste of time, money and useless experience.

I had to call myself just to figure out what was going on. What makes this even more frustrating is their policy regarding secondary insurance. They accept one of my primary insurance plans, but because I also have a secondary insurance as backup in case the first doesn't fully cover something, they suddenly refused to see me as a patient altogether. It makes absolutely no sense to deny someone coverage that you already stated you accept simply because they have additional coverage. The lack of communication, professionalism, and consistency was incredibly frustrating--especially when dealing with serious health concerns where time and clarity matter.

You have pressure on the nerves in your lower back, but it may take as long as a year for the surgery to show full results said, ​my surgeon. It was June of 2017 that I had the surgery. I am now using a walker and two AFO leg braces. My wheelchair is being delivered next week. I am completely unable to walk unaided after my surgery. It has forced me to stop working. This last year and a half have been a nightmare! Numerous follow-up MRIs indicate nothing was corrected by Dr. Abram Burgher's laser surgery. Their doctors completely misdiagnosed my condition and went ahead with unnecessary surgery. I have ALS - though at this point it is only affecting my legs. I emailed the North American Spine asking to see Dr. Burgher as a follow up because of weakness in my left knee a few months after surgery but was told no because it wasn't related to the surgery - he was unavailable. Interesting response. The time that I lost because of the misdiagnosis means that I was not taking medication to extend my life. I regret my decision to have ever worked with anyone at North American Spine.

After reading all the positive reviews and about the procedure they use (accurascope) I was convinced I finally found some help, although at a huge cost. But I thought if I could be pain free any cost is worth it. When I first contacted them they called me within hours...I was amazed, as that does not happen here. They were so kind and were there to reassure me that I was going to be so happy with the results as I would not be in any more pain. I had my surgery date booked and paid for with a couple weeks (before you have time to change your mind). When I got to the clinic I was amazed at how efficient and kind everyone was. There are a few pre-op test you have to have done, one called pain mapping. While this was being performed on me Dr. Burgher commented that he knew exactly what to do to fix me...I was ecstatic and so excited to have my surgery the next day. Since I was told I could travel home the next day I did. The flight was excruciating and was feeling nervous and was wishing I would have stayed in Az. longer as once I got home I was on my own. The pain got worse everyday and when I called the clinic they kept saying "give it more time". It has been two years since the surgery and I am in more pain now that ever. They called periodically for the first year and the last time I talked to them they said the surgery only works in 20% of people. I was furious and told them if I was informed of that prior to the surgery I never would have travelled all that way and paid all that money ($20,000 U.S.) I have not heard from them since. I am so disappointed and sad that they promote their accurascope as a miracle procedure then tell you after it's not very reliable. And they are not willing to do anything to help you come back, all costs are on you. Be very careful.

Things were great the first few years. It all went south when his 2 medical assistants quit. They ran the show. They were organized and on top of everything I could list the multiple issues I've had over the years, but will only describe the most outrageous. I have a steroid allergy. It's written all over my chart. On the day of my surgical procedure I was given a red allergy bracelet stating that. I was asked 4 times about the allergy, but guess what .....I was injected with steroids anyway. It has been a month of hell for me with this steroid in my body. When I called to talk to the Dr I was told I could talk to the office manager. Hmm what? I was told it was just a small amount. No biggie. Would you say that to someone who had diabetes as you'd put them in a coma if injected with steroids. Dr finally called. Only after I threatened to report the incident. He blamed his staff. Didn't take an ounce of responsibility for it. Didn't offer anything to help me. They run the surgeries like an assembly line. In and out so fast. Even the surgery center talks how rushed it is. Right before my procedure was an elderly man. He wasn't coming out of sedation well and they still just flipped him a chair and pushed him out. I stayed as a patient for so long as I still felt the Dr could do the procedures well and I worked through other issues, but the incompetence of injecting someone wearing a red allergy bracelet is too much. Do better. Take responsibility. Slow down!

They even had a $100 non-deductible fee just to make an appointment and then when you show up for the consultation/appointment it is any$250. The office only scheduled an appointment and requested medical records so for them to state that they did a whole lot is not actually what they did.I refuse to support this type of business practices.

No voice mail, no broken connection, nothing. Finally, I called the office to ask a question and told them that no one had called me and the person I spoke with was most apologetic. And of course, the next day I had TWO calls from them wanting to know how I was. However, that was a bit late. I felt they should have called right after the surgery to see how I had fared. Obviously, they didn't care. Then, after my 30-day review, on line and with the nurse practicioner, NOT the surgeon, the NP told me she was going to send in the physical therapy order and gave me the name of the group. She said they would call me in the next two days. Now it's been two weeks and they still haven't called. I did call them once, and they said they had not had any order from Sonospine. This was 4 days after the 30-day follow-up. Now it's been two weeks and still no physical therapy. I have called SonoSpine again, and am awaiting their return call, because they hardly ever answer their calls. Absolutely NO PATIENT CARE! (And by patient care, I mean they don't CARE about their PATIENTS!) I guess once you've had the surgery and spent the money, they could care less what's going on with you.
