I did, my test showed L4 and L5 vertebra, the top one was rocking over the bottom one putting pressure on my bladder, causing the frequent urination!!! That was a Friday, Dr Pitt said you need emergency surgery on Monday at 4:00pm!!!! I didn't hav back pain, I was a strong 66 year old, no health issues, not over weight, worked out etc. If I had not had the surgery, and the vertebrate slipped, I would have been paralyzed.! The bladder nerves were being damaged- called the Cauda Equina syndrome! Prior to surgery Dr Pitt explained I may have permanent bladder damage and may have to wear a colostomy bag. After 6 hours of surgery, not only did he repair my spine with fusion, a titanium cage etc, he was able to save the nerves affecting my bladder!! Dr Pitt and his office during my rehab and months of wearing a brace were so kind and always explained everything in detail to me, including reviewing my x-rays in the Office! I am grateful to Dr Pitt and his group for having the knowledge and immediate reaction to my condition. My back is fine today, I'm blessed to have been referred to Dr Pitt and wouldn't hesitate to go to him again. Sounds like the lawsuit against him was by someone who needed money, read FFs review!! Thank you Dr Pitt, Eileen Carlson Note: my spelling and medical terminology may not be perfect!!

You have pressure on the nerves in your lower back, but it may take as long as a year for the surgery to show full results said, my surgeon. It was June of 2017 that I had the surgery. I am now using a walker and two AFO leg braces. My wheelchair is being delivered next week. I am completely unable to walk unaided after my surgery. It has forced me to stop working. This last year and a half have been a nightmare! Numerous follow-up MRIs indicate nothing was corrected by Dr. Abram Burgher's laser surgery. Their doctors completely misdiagnosed my condition and went ahead with unnecessary surgery. I have ALS - though at this point it is only affecting my legs. I emailed the North American Spine asking to see Dr. Burgher as a follow up because of weakness in my left knee a few months after surgery but was told no because it wasn't related to the surgery - he was unavailable. Interesting response. The time that I lost because of the misdiagnosis means that I was not taking medication to extend my life. I regret my decision to have ever worked with anyone at North American Spine.

To keep a very long info short. The Surgery made my Back MUCH WORSE ! _ I had spasms so bad it was hard to breath. I felt like they surgically hook my back up to a wall socket. Every time I moved I felt like I was being shocked. I got ahold of North American Spine and the Surgeon said......Give it some time and it will get better. My One place I could go to to get relief before Surgery was to lay down, go horizontal and get the weight off my spine. That ended after Surgery, Every time I tried to change position it would be the shocking Pain that I still have to this day. I beg them to do some kind of Corrective Surgery. They did a procedure called a Ablation. That is where they burn the pain nerves to stop the pain. Failed once again. They missed by over 10 inches and my belt line was Numb but still felt like Needles pushing in my back. NAS said: OOOHH this will go away, It has not. Nor can you get anyone to address the Problems NORTH AMERICAN SPINE has. They have built a Protective Layer hiding all of this info from New Pain Victims. What I found out after Surgery and the Failed Process...North American Spine is a Marketing and Office Service Company. NAS doe not provide medical Services ! They contract the surgical procedures NOT to board -certified Spine Surgeons, But to anesthesiologists and Pain management specialist. The reason you find this info here is North American Spine has Web Sweepers that Clean up everyone that speaks bad of them so they can keep the Money rolling in. VERY PAINFUL ! Do your Homework before you make your life decision. These companies are in it for the Money, Not for your Pain Relief.

Things were great the first few years. It all went south when his 2 medical assistants quit. They ran the show. They were organized and on top of everything I could list the multiple issues I've had over the years, but will only describe the most outrageous. I have a steroid allergy. It's written all over my chart. On the day of my surgical procedure I was given a red allergy bracelet stating that. I was asked 4 times about the allergy, but guess what .....I was injected with steroids anyway. It has been a month of hell for me with this steroid in my body. When I called to talk to the Dr I was told I could talk to the office manager. Hmm what? I was told it was just a small amount. No biggie. Would you say that to someone who had diabetes as you'd put them in a coma if injected with steroids. Dr finally called. Only after I threatened to report the incident. He blamed his staff. Didn't take an ounce of responsibility for it. Didn't offer anything to help me. They run the surgeries like an assembly line. In and out so fast. Even the surgery center talks how rushed it is. Right before my procedure was an elderly man. He wasn't coming out of sedation well and they still just flipped him a chair and pushed him out. I stayed as a patient for so long as I still felt the Dr could do the procedures well and I worked through other issues, but the incompetence of injecting someone wearing a red allergy bracelet is too much. Do better. Take responsibility. Slow down!

They do not work with any insurances so in this day and time I found this to be very unreasonable or I guess for just the rich and famous! I changed my mind and asked for the refund less than 24 hours after I made the appointment and I lost the $100 as even though I am trying to find help for my back pain. Fantastic results and I'm very happy about the surgery itself and the doctor. However, the office staff is awful. They promised to call me the day after the surgery and for a week I heard nothing. No voice mail, no broken connection, nothing. Finally, I called the office to ask a question and told them that no one had called me and the person I spoke with was most apologetic. And of course, the next day I had TWO calls from them wanting to know how I was. However, that was a bit late. I felt they should have called right after the surgery to see how I had fared. Obviously, they didn't care. Then, after my 30-day review, on line and with the nurse practicioner, NOT the surgeon, the NP told me she was going to send in the physical therapy order and gave me the name of the group. She said they would call me in the next two days. Now it's been two weeks and they still haven't called. I did call them once, and they said they had not had any order from Sonospine. This was 4 days after the 30-day follow-up. Now it's been two weeks and still no physical therapy. I have called SonoSpine again, and am awaiting their return call, because they hardly ever answer their calls. Absolutely NO PATIENT CARE! (And by patient care, I mean they don't CARE about their PATIENTS!) I guess once you've had the surgery and spent the money, they could care less what's going on with you. You really have to advocate for yourself with these guys.

She didn't hesitate: "Don't bother looking at anyone else in the Valley. Go see Russo." In that heavy accent. I'm glad I listened. As a nurse myself with 26 years of experience, I've seen it all -- the good, the bad, and the downright scary. Dr. Russo is one of the best. His father was a physician, and I can say with confidence his Father should be incredibly proud of the surgeon and human being his son has become. Dr. Russo isn't just a highly skilled surgeon with a stellar track record and excellent credentials. What really stood out to me was his bedside manner. He never once made me feel rushed. He listened. He cared. And you can tell he genuinely loves what he does -- there's no trace of the burnout you sometimes see in seasoned surgeons. On top of it all, he's a family man with kids of his own, so he gets it. He understands how a bum hip doesn't just affect you, it affects your whole family. That empathy came through in every interaction. I had a left hip replacement and walked out the same day with not just a new joint, but a new outlook on life. I'm excited to soon tie my own shoes again, to ride a bike pain-free, to live my life again. If you're considering surgery and you're lucky enough to get in with Dr. Russo -- don't think twice. Thank you Dr Russo!
