Both the patient and myself arrived earlier. Then they told us the visit would be one hour later...the same we needed to fill the very long questionnaires on the app provided. Many people especially older don't use apps and I was more acting there as helper to navigate technology than interpreter. The questionnaire is extremely long and then many questions are repetitive in person. Doctor more courteous than the front desk with no smiles or welcoming traits. I went to the appointment only to be told I couldn't have the procedure because I never got a response to my messages. Total waste of my time & gas money! I am writing to warn other patients: the office management here is unacceptable. An insurance has changed and needed to renew referral; my insurance company attempted multiple times to contact the office for a fax number and received no answer and no return calls. The front-desk staff repeatedly behaved rudely and raised their voices when speaking with me. Most concerning, an appointment I had scheduled more than 30 days in advance was cancelled and the next offered slot was 30 days later, so, 60 days from when I last saw my dr. As a result I closed my file and will seek care elsewhere. This is not a matter of medical disagreement -- it is basic customer service and respect, which this office fails to provide. "A doctor's reputation is only as good as the people representing him -- and here, that reputation is being destroyed at the front desk." This clinic abruptly cut off my opioid medication without tapering or medical supervision, despite my documented history and clear need. The decision was made not by my doctor, but by an unqualified front desk staff member who overstepped into medical judgment. This reckless action could have caused unnecessary suffering, severe withdrawal symptoms, and put me at real medical risk. Also, patient abandonment is legally considered Medical malpractice and one would think that staff should know their place and when to contact medical, licensed personnel. To this day, the clinic has never responded to my concerns or taken responsibility. For the most part I've been treated with dignity and respect. Sadly, today was different when I arrived for me appointment, an epidural with sedation. My appointment was at 1:30. I arrived at 1:25 and was told I had to check in at 1:10. I was never notified of the change in policy (my last procedure was in September, 2024). I asked if he would still see me. And was told no. Had to switch providers because the Doctor was unprofessional. They made several mistakes and I finally filed a grievance with my insurance company. I requested records and they never called me back. They closed the El Camino office and did not inform patients nor place a sign on the front door with the new address. My case is now in the hands of SSI and I hope they don't have issues getting my medical records since I had no luck with this practice. They made several diagnostic mistakes and gave me painful injections that made my pain worse. In Oceanside, I was introduced to Dr. Fischer and he understood my condition and concerns while placing me on a recurring schedule but offered several options for treatment. My follow-up was with PA Dennis who understood all orders from Dr. Fischer and carried them out with no issues. He also suggested alternative treatment options. It has taken over 2 months for them to approve a new medication for pain, in that time period I've been without any medication waiting. They do not seem to care about patients and getting back when they say they will give a call. The care at first was okay and my needs were met, then after this medication was prescribed they took no effort in getting it to my pharmacy to be approved, and have not communicated at all about my issues, I've had to call every week and get the same response that I will 'get a call back soon', I never have received a call, and they have my number on file. read more

Yes, it is the worst place ever if you are in pain. The only solution to my severe back pain was a stonger pain med. I went through a series of questions and several signatures but when my insurance had a few questions for them regarding the medication, they submitted no additional information and thus I never was able to get the prescription filled. I have been seeing Dr. Fisher for many years; he is an EXCELLENT doctor. He's very caring, genuine, passionate and professional; he has been working with me on several issues, explains to me what treatments I need &/or any alternatives I should follow. I have so much confidence in his knowledge that I never doubt his recommendations and treatments. Now there is a new NP KATIE in the Oceanside office. I feel that she cares extremely about her patients, loves her profession and helping people. She is very detail oriented and goes above and beyond what is expected from an NP to help her patients. On every visit, she goes over my medications to make sure they're working properly and if needed she would adjust the dosages or substitute if necessary. I never feel rushed with Katie. She is absolutely INCREDIBLE! On one of my visits, I explained to her that due to my active years of playing hours of Tennis/day I have injured my Knee, elbow and shoulder. She immediately scheduled appointments for steroid injections. When I got the injections done, I was so shocked not to feel any pain and since then I have not felt any problems or pain whatsoever in these areas. I am surprised after reading reviews about this office. This office is very sympathetic with your pain and when I see what they have to put up with at the front desk they should get a medal. Most people show up without their insurance card and ID cards. Some people show up late or even without an appointment. They try to accommodate them if possible. I bring my neighbor here for a host of medical conditions, including fibromialgia, stenosis, and neuropathy. This is the third clinic she has attended since I became her driver. This is the first place where I have seen her truly listened to. The previous clinics were an abject disaster. I finally drove it over to be told they "were having issues with their fax machine." I was then was told they'd follow up with my Dr. which they didn't and never called me back. Dr. Miller is the first Dr. That I ever met with a God complex. When I would ask a question about anything he would tell me to look it up on my computer. He kept telling me that I need to know what I'm talking about so we could have a conversation. He said he isn't paid to teach me what to do. I have M.S. and Sjogrens. And I have chronic pain. He made me feel like I shouldn't have any pain and because I don't eat the food from the Paleo diet it's my falt. If I could afford grass fed beef and organic food I would buy it. But since nobody knows what causes M.S. I don't think eating food will cure me. I certainly wish it could. I'm giving 1 star for Dallas and the MA who helped me today. The rest of the staff is highly unprofessional. I've had multiple issues since coming to the clinic in 10/22. Starting with HIPPA violations. Not all patients want to be on speaker phone while other patients are walking around. (That got me labeled as difficult). I noticed that the instructions on my medication had changed once the clinic began prescribing it. It's something I've taken for years. I had planned to address it with Dr. Prabhu at my appointment, however, I contracted Covid and had to cancel. Skip to a phone appointment with the MA who put in my monthly refill and said she would ask the Dr about the instructions. She wasn't hopeful, as it would likely require an in person discussion. Not a problem. I received a call from Dallas who confirmed I would need to talk to Dr. Prabhu in person for the change. I thanked him for his time and help and asked that he makes some notes in my chart so when I make my appointment they have a heads up. Everyone is happy. Nope. I get a call from someone I've never spoken with, who has me on speaker and is aggressively throwing information at me like a used car salesman. He begins by telling me he's spoken with Dallas and he wants to explain the dosing instructions. As he explains the medication I've been on for 15 years, I ask him to hold on. I explain that I've been on this, I'm aware of the dosages and am happy to talk to my doctor. He jumps in and talks over me and becomes argumentative. My husband is sitting next to me asking who's yelling at me. He's that loud. I interject that I'm stopping the conversation. I don't know him. He's violating HIPPA. As a result, I am apparently discharged from the practice. Love the lack empathy, bedside manner, narcissism and absolute horror this practice offers. If you advocate for yourself you're a difficult patient. Speak up because you're familiar with your healthcare and medication, difficult patient. Try to hold someone accountable for their mistake, difficult patient. I've encountered mold with better bedside manners. read more

I remember dealing with them in the past and the front office wasn't even honest. I see in several remarks by the doc which show that he seems to place himself above what the patient might know or believe about themselves. Hey stem, cell is a fantastic way to do many things. Remember where most of it comes from, though! Also it can't do a LOT of things and WILL NOT cure all your ailments like aggressive degenerative disc disease. I'm sick of doctors trying to sell us the lie that it does. Also one thing they tell you is your BACK surgery is more of a 50/50 type scenario of it getting better or staying the same. Ooooops, forgot another percentage there which significantly lowers the likelihood of ANY recovery and that's that your situation could get worse. MUCH WORSE so now that gives you a 33% chance, not close to 50!! Sad. I am happy about 1 thing though, the value of a doctor's opinion in 2019 now means so much less than it used to and I think we're much better off as a result of that. Unfortunately now the DEA has stepped in and made things quite a bit more difficult. You know, because every single person that uses meds IS an addict. That's literally where most of these doctors are going and it's because of further government intrusion. Oh ya, I'm on free health care and my pain situation has been drastically difficult for the last 15 yrs as a result of extremely poor coverage provided by it (Free hc). Unfortunately our HC is horrific when it's free. I'd also like to leave a few words for the big guy, himself. He references the oath right off the bat to someone and mentions not doing harm to the patients. If something is done to the patient and they let you know it's not working-IT'S NOT WORKING. It's also likely not helping. When you continue YOUR treatment you ARE hurting your patient. I wish lawyers weren't so expensive. I'm not saying you are doing this or have but, based on my experience and seeing how the gov can't keep itself out of my life and medicine, I have it on amazing faith that you have. SHAME!! He also states that, in short, over time pain meds only mess you up. Well I'm sure many situations are like this. I'm sure the vast majority of them are. I'm also sure not ALL patients HAVE to fall under this umbrella. I believe you are convinced everyone does. Well doc remember that glass of wine you had or beer you had or plural of either? YOU'RE AN ALCOHOLIC, I CAN PROVE IT!! I literally could make the argument that this doctor is an aggressive alcoholic because their drinking behavior suggests and impression of the world that is sad which is why he needs to use the alcohol because it can make the world less aggressive to them. It IS a depressant after all. I can go on and on. I already know everything I need to know and, Yelp team, I HAVE done business with these people on multiple occasions. I'm glad I waited until now to do my review. I finally read some of the others. Also Yelp team please recognize my friends/reviews ratio. Worst practice and employees ever. If I could leave zero star, I would. I got reschedule once because "doctor was busy that day" when I finally arrived on the day of appointment, they made me wait an hour and half before telling me that my appointment was not until 3pm. Couple days before my appointment, they called to confirm that my appointment and told me to arrive couple hours early so I can complete new patient package. I know that because to this very second I still have the voice mail and also they called my wife and told her the same thing since I did not pick up their call. Now let me mind you, I took a day off from work, to be there while I am in so much pain, when I arrived there at 12:30 and their so called new patient packet (8 pages) took 20 min, I was thinking that I would still be seen within and hour maybe and an hour and 30 min. I waited until 1:45 and walked up to the window to check to status of my appointment, some rude lady told me that my appointment was not until 3 and they can't see me until than. Why was I lied to and asked to be there couple of hours early to do 8 pages of paper work when in reality they could not see me until 3 pm. I am a stunt woman and martial artist , dancer and former competitive gymnast and spring board diver . I used to snowboard as well.I've endured many injuries through sports and being active . I got stem cel done in my knee , which had a MISSING ACL from an injury during gymnastics , I managed to still do sports for years , the Stem Cel definitely helped my pain and flexibility . I've been seeing Dr. Miller for nearly 9 months now for a very painful disc problem. He is my second doctor I have seen for this. The first gave me two epidural injections and told me since they aren't working I'd live with this for the rest of my life. Dr. Miler has continued to try injections both epidural and facet joint while also recommending vitamins and other alternative ways of helping my pain. He is now trying to work with a ortho surgeon for a plan to correct it surgically. But he has not given up and has been supportive and kind in a scary frustrating situation every step of the way. I am a young mother and do not want to live with this pain the rest of my life. I am confident Dr. Miller will help find a solution no matter what. I always joke with my husband I am going to see my shrink/ pain management Dr. because he really does listen to all my problems since pain effects every aspect of my life.
