If you're lucky enough to look up the reviews on this office, before you wait for an appt, cancel immediately. You'll get better advice, and equivalent in relief, watching YouTube videos than seeing Dr Chung.
I brought 2 folders, written by my surgeon and personal Dr. before I moved to Cali f Michigan, 2 previous MRI reports f '13 and '15, Dr Chung wouldn't even acknowledge them, I pointed to them on her desk as I told her I've had spinal injuries for 20 yrs and she just ignored me both times and suggested acupuncture and physical therapy for pain relief. After 20 yrs of back pain, Multiple surgeries, a dozen MRI's and countless dr's and physical therapist, this by far was the worst/dumbest advice I've ever heard. When I told her my surgeon told me NOT to stretch or do therapy, because it will exacerbate my injuries, she snapped at me, 'well why don't you go see him then?"
When I told her I can't take anything that makes me tired (I drive all day at work, plus I need to be able to run my business without being tired all day) she totally ignored everything I said and wrote a script for Gabapentin which made me want to fall asleep at 9am. When I called the office and told the nurse this stuff makes me tired and I asked to avoid this, Dr Chung lied and told her I was supposed to take it at night, even though she told me directly to my face 'take it when you wake up, so your body can get used to it."
On my second visit I told her I'm feeling better, perhaps it's working, she got mad because I took 2 instead of 1, and cut me off. I have severe pain, and have trouble sleeping at night, and she stopped giving me medication because I took 2. Mind you, she gave me the lowest does avail because she originally told me to take it when I wake up. Than she told me I'm not allowed to have any medications because I had THC in my urine, and she's not sure how mixing chemicals would affect any medications she gave me. I eat 2-3 gummy bears after dinner to sleep better, I've stopped taking muscle relaxers because the gummy bears were so effective at helping me sleep, but NOW I'm unworthy to treat for chronic pain because I have THC in my blood. Very low levels too, that another dr. told me to try for sciatica.
2 torn discs, borderline drop foot and neuropathy in my left leg/foot, bone spurs on my neck, arthritis throughout my spine, sciatica on left and right, plus a pinched nerve behind my left shoulder blade and Dr Chung and Synnovation refuses to help in any way.
When I asked if I can get a referral for an MRI because Ive been in and out of the emergency room every few weeks since August, Dr Chung LIED AGAIN and told me I have to go to physical therapy to QUALIFY for an MRI. I called my insurance company, they told me that they've NEVER heard of a requirement like that. So, again, I need to go to the office for clarification, and when I told the ladies behind the counter what the insurance company told me, they just rolled their eyes and said, "she's new." So even her co-workers dismiss her, which isn't exactly the type of dr. you want in charge of you before the next major surgery..
So now I've gone out of network to start paying cash for a Dr. to assess my injuries and give me the results of 3 MRI's I had, it's expensive but trying to trust Dr.s like they have at Synnovation w medical and emotional care would be a death sentence.
