Dr Kastrup deserves a 5++ rating on Yelp. He is an incredible doctor who cares about his patients. New patients may have to wait 2-3 weeks to get an initial assessment appointment. He's That busy. He treated a nerve pinch on my spine and shoulder, and I am relieved of pain. Impressive! Really glad I came to Dr. Kastrup! The practice is in an industrial section of Oceanside but was easily visible from the road. Kelly is Dr. Kastrup's admin and she is quite a delight! Easy to make an appointment and she was so friendly. I brought my baby who was a total fuss fest and she was so sweet when he was crying his face off. I've been seeing doctor Kastrup for about two years now and felt it was time for an updated review! Initially, I saw Dr. Kastrup for my migraines and a foot injury... later for a wrist injury, then for pre-natal care (who knew a growing belly could mess up your back?!), and now for post natal care (carrying a baby is hard work!). We even have our baby adjusted to make sure her growing little body develops appropriately. He's very gentle with her- and don't worry an adult adjustment is NOT like an infant adjustment. My mother in law and husband also come here too now. Dr. Kastrup is just as wonderful as the first time we met. He goes above and beyond to help his patients feel pain-free, sometimes even sacrificing his own free time to help others. He's a very calm doctor and always re-assuring. Had never seen a chiropractor and didn't know what to expect. Walking into the practice, I was greeted by two very friendly ladies at the front desk - one, was Kelly who had made the appointment for me and also followed-up the day before + helped me with directions when I was lost. I filled out some paper work explaining need for treatment and medical history. When it was time to see Dr. Kastrup, he came out, introduced himself, and brought me to a private room. He went over the reasons that I was likely having back pain (office job, computer work, etc.) and then he adjusted my back and even my wrists and elbows! He was super knowledgeable and able to explain what was happening in ways that made sense to me, even with it being my first time to a chiropractor. For the past month I've been coming here to get my back and my hip treated by Dr. Kastrup and the service here is top notch! Making appointments are easy and the staff here are friendly and more than accommodating. I like them at they engage in conversation and take a personal interest in my well-being. Any conflict in schedule can easily be fixed over-the-phone and they are very understanding. Hands down the best chiropractor out there. After having my baby girl I got a weird kink in my neck that went down into my shoulder and arm making it feel both numb and painful. I came to Dr. Kastrup a broken woman and walked out being able to actually hold my baby girl again. The same exact thing happened again the next time I had a baby and he fixed me right up again in only two visits. I sent my best friend here when she wasn't feeling great and I'd send everyone else here, too. The doc has a great bedside manner. He is personable and doesn't make things awkward. Normally I try to be a bit witty with my reviews (ok I don't really try, it comes naturally), but for this I'm just gonna shoot straight. When the beloved husband/wife chiropractic team I had been going to for years moved to the East Coast, I floundered around and made the mistake of going to a sports medicine type place that I might review here in the near future that also did chiropractic. I was so unhappy with them I stopped going despite having unsused prepaid sessions. Needless to say I suffered through some painful times. When my girlfriend moved out to SoCal, she was having a problem so I came to Yelp looking for some reviews. You know back in the day when I just reaped the benefits of Yelp but didn't actually contribute. Hey, I'm trying now, leave me alone. Anyway, I found Dr. Kastrup and his great reviews and proceeded to announce to her in a very authoritative way that he was the guy she should try. Why? Trust me I said with a knowing wink. Luckily the reviews weren't lies and he's great and I was a hero. Of course I used her as a guinea pig before I went, but we don't need to tell her that. Hey what are girlfriends for if not to test out physical health altering procedures before doing them yourself? She came home ridiculously happy saying that not only had he fixed her problem but that he had also actually managed to adjust something she had actually given up on someone being able to adjust over the last 10 years. So a few months later I had one of my annoyingly painful incidents and I called up and made an appointment that day. I spoke with Dr. Kastrup and gave him my history and he listened to everything I had to say and didn't try to lecture me or give me a hard time. He had me lay down and worked his way down my neck and back and solved my issue for me. I was very pleased with how he treated me and how he made sure to ask if I had any questions but didn't push information or products on me. At no time did I feel like I was in an assembly line. If you know what I mean you will definitely appreciate my comment. They've always done everything they can to fit my girlfriend in ASAP when she has her problems. What can I say she just isn't as good at taking care of her back as I am. Go figure. If you're having some problems and you want a chiro who can manually manipulate you and doesn't rely on tools to get the job done, go see him. I'm not saying chiros who only rely on tools aren't good, they're just different. Some of us prefer the manual adjustments. Dr. Kastrup, Gloria (massage therapist), and office staff have been amazing! At 66 I have lent had back issues so never had a chiropractor although lots of massages (preventative?). I was in chronic lower back pain that I couldn't resolve. After my first session with Sr. Kastrup my hips were back in alignment and the pain was gone! Gloria's massage helped ease the muscles that had been working overtime to correct for the hip misalignment. Just amazing. They are referred by Kaiser, if that is your insurance, which makes it very cost effective to keep my back in good condition as the body ages. Also NO pressure to get on a costly unending series of sessions. I can call when I want to come by for adjustment or massage (by appt but very accommodating as well). read more

I've been having issues with severe neck pain that massage wasn't taking care of. I turned to chiropractic care out of desperation. I don't know about the rest of you out there, but neck adjustments freak me WAY out. I had that done at my only other chiropractic appointment, and counted myself among the lucky to have escaped. So I was *not* eager to go back - but the pain had to stop. I knew of Rancho Del Oro Chiropractic simply from driving by, but did check Yelp before making an appointment. I am SO glad I made that appointment. Dr. Kastrup is wonderful. He's funny and really easygoing, and I felt at ease with him immediately. You can tell he really loves his work, and he really listens to his patients. He's a firm believer in explaining the hows and whys of what causes back pain, and is really good at helping the patient take a part in easing the pain. I'm happy to report that between the in office adjustments, the behavior modification suggestions (having to do with sitting and sleeping), and the stretches he demonstrated and then provided a handout illustrating - which take all of five minutes a day - I am pain free and back to full range of motion in my neck. In addition to Dr. Kastrup being wonderful, his front office staff are friendly and funny - they're a joy to work with as well.
