I've been having pain in my groin/hip area and felt like I wasn't aligned right. Went to my Primary Dr.'s and took an X-ray and he didn't see anything going on and suggested I try to build muscle. I have a Personal Trainer who would have me do stretches for my back and hips to try and open my hips more and it was still painful. I looked into Chiropractic because I was talking with people about similar issues and so I decided to try it. I received a list of Chiropractor's and I'm big on Yelp Reviews and Reviews/Referrals in general.. I started googling the reviews on Dr. Michael Kastrup Ranch Del Oro Chiropractic and seen the feedback so I had to make an appointment plus it was close to home. Well, off top he made me feel so comfortable.. he was funny, extremely knowledgeable and providing me with information at the same time. Very professional. He accessed me initially and really was genuine in trying to see what was wrong. The next thing I knew I felt absolutely AMAZING!! WOW!! Hands downs I'm excited I found an awesome Chiropractor who cares. He even took an extra step at giving me his number in case I had questions about my treatment/appointment. Dr. Kastrup is hands-down the best chiropractor I've ever seen. Need I say more? I do? OK, then... Not only is Dr. Kastrup incredibly friendly and personable, he's also very knowledgeable. During my first visit he did a thorough hands-on examination and identified several problems just by touch, so I could tell he knew his stuff! Not only that, but he didn't just pop, crack, and send me out the door, he actually took time to explain WHY I was having the issues which was incrediby insightful. Suddenly I understood the reason for my lower back and neck pains. Before the actual adjustment he took time to stretch and massage the muscles around the bones rather than just commencing with the cracking. Then for the bonus round, he didn't just recommend coming to see him a hundred more times, but instead gave me some simple exercises and stretches I could do at home then suggested I call him again if needed. I also appreciated that he took time for all of my questions and that I never felt rushed. He was very patient, again explaining everything so that I knew not only the cause, but the cure. What a relief! If you're like me, you've been to chiropractors who (1) Crack you then send you on your way (2) Barely explain anything (3) Don't give you any followup care or things to do at home (4) Instead, they recommend you just come back to see them again and again and again... I've been to Dr. Kastrup several times since then for a variety of issues, not just back and neck pain, but even pain in my wrist and hand. I'm always amazed by his knowledge, how he quickly identifies the source, explains what's going on, and has a plan to put things right. Dr. Kastrup takes the time to listen, diagnose, and teach. He is not there to just temporarily relieve pain, but to help you train your bones so you don't have pain. I went for my hip. It was hurting while running. I found out it was also causing my foot and back pain. He put my bones in place and gave me stretches to prevent future pain. I haven't felt pain since and I ran a half marathon 3 weeks later! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Kastrup. I was hit on my bike and he is the only one that demanded that I have additional xrays done. Those showed a separated shoulder and possible torn rotator cuff. I was taken to the hospital and I had seen an Ortho Specialist and neither picked up on this. So glad I saw the great reviews on yelp and went to see Dr. Kastrup. He is very caring and concerned about your health and well-being. I have neck pain which can incapacitate me at times. On the day of my 1st visit he called that evening to see how I was doing and gave me his cell # in case my symptoms returned when the office was closed. I've never had another chiropractor do that for me. He loves to help his patients, and doesn't push you to come weekly, but when you feel it is needed. I highly recommend him. I have low expectations of chiropractors (fear they are like used car salesman types) but was AMAZED at my experience with Dr. Kastrup! My neck was painfully tweaked and sore and I'd been suffering for days. I called on Friday morning and they were booked that day. The helpful receptionist checked with Dr Kastrup and called back willing to squeeze me in over the lunch hour. Wow - great customer service. Dr. Kastrup is professional and kind. He listened closely to my pain/issue and talked through my full medical history. He treated me conservatively and helped alleviate some pain. The adjustments, muscle stimulation felt great! He gave suggestions of things to do at home and ongoing stretches to help prevent recurrences. After my appointment I even received a follow up call to make sure I was feeling okay. Surprisingly, he didn't tell me to come back. His genuine hope to help people and make them healthy and pain free - not to make them dependent on a chiropractor. I was so surprised! He helped my current pain but if I have issues in the future I will definitely go back to him. He has helped me with neck, back and hip issues which I've been dealing with for a long time; I'd been going to another chiro and never got any better nor did he care if I did. I'd been looking for a new chiropractor for 2 years, ever since I moved. Dr. Kastrup was the 6th chiropractor I tried. Mid-back adjustments seemed to be difficult for the first four. The 5th seemed to be adjusting me with all the popping I heard but my back would go right back out within 2-3 days. Then my right shoulder started bothering me and I thought it was an old repetitive stress injury acting up. Next my upper right back started hurting and then my neck. He said I'd need to go to the gym everyday for a month to rehabilitate my shoulder and needed to install a pull up bar so I could hang from it to stretch out my back. When I finally got the bar installed, I couldn't hang from it because my shoulder hurt so badly. I knew then I had to keep searching. Dr. Kastrup had great Yelp reviews so I tried him next. I was laying on the table talking to Dr. Kastrup as he was examining my shoulder telling him how I couldn't swim, or do my yoga properly and how much it hurt to lay on my right side. Next thing I know I hear a small pop, and my shoulder is back seated properly where it belongs! It hurt for days afterwards but I could move it properly and finally it stopped hurting. It must have been out a long time. 5 chiropractors failed to see this. I still have stretches and strengthening exercises to do but now it moves as it should, I can swim and hang from the bar no problem! Thank you Dr. Kastrup! read more

Unfortunately, I became a victim of a pinched sciatica nerve (right leg) just before the Holidays. Dr Kastrup squeezed me into his busy schedule, stating that he didn't want me to have to endure the Holidays in pain. What a relief!
