We have two dogs both were rescues. The house was out of control with the two of them and we didn't have any idea what was gonna happen but we knew one thing was going to be one of these two dogs was gonna hurt the other.. We received a referral to Paige. From our groomer, who was starting to have issues with Cody well to make a long story short we called Paige set up a time to meet and the rest is history. Paige has helped us tremendously with both of our dogs with obedience training and miraculously I have two dogs I can take out in public places they sit they go down they stay they don't interact with other dogs, which was the biggest issue was the dog aggression. We are beyond relieved to have met Paige and would highly recommend anybody to take their dog to her.

Luna staying in place, with plenty of distractions, during a training session in Livermore.

I met Paige about two years ago at a training session for Narc & Explosives detection K-9's. I was immediately impressed with how she handled her own K-9's and being a novice handler asked for some advice working with my spicy Malinois. I took what she gave me and began to incorporate that into our daily training. This included long downs to help relax Lu, boundaries at home, clear communication and especially when to reward. Because of her advice and our willingness to attend the free classes she offers once a month, Paige has not only built Lu's confidence but also my confidence in handling her. Paige is an honest trainer who will advocate for the dog and tell a pet-parent/handler what needs to happen in session and at home for the best interest of the dog. Other trainers that I have met give you the bare bones about training because they want the money, but from my experience Paige 100% is about using her expertise to improve the relationship between dog and owner and doesn't withhold what she has learned in her years as a handler. We highly recommend Paige for all your dog training and/or dog boarding needs.

We adopted a German Shepard/Cattle Dog mix from a dog rescue in Oakland. She had severe aggression toward other dogs and red-zone behavior. Our friends referred us to Paige and the 5-week Board & Train as it got so bad we couldn't take our dog in public or on outdoor walks. We could not be happier with the results... our dog came back fully obedient to commands and the aggressive behavior was eliminated. Paige even gave us training sessions afterward and practiced commands with us to reinforce and maintain the behavior long-term. We can now take our dog to the park, breweries and outdoor restaurants with no issues and we can't thank Paige enough.

We fostered and then adopted a 4 year old bloodhound from our local rescue. When we adopted her we knew she had previous separation anxiety and the rescue sold us on the heavy doses of sedatives, trazadone and gabapentin that she "needed" prescribed for her anxiety. We were referred to Paige for board and train to help with the separation anxiety and after assessing Chili, Paige advised us she didn't feel like she needed medication, (our vet agreed with Paige's assessment.) After stopping the high doses of unnecessary medication, Paige was able to bring out the real Chili and start working on the issues in a 4 week board and train. We are so grateful for Paige. Being able to leave our girl at home safely was an absolute life changer and we could not have done it without Paige's help. The care and tremendous amount of work she put into our girl was obvious from start to finish. She's incredibly knowledgeable and the support she has given us after training has been invaluable to our and Chili's success. We are so grateful for her and cannot say enough good things about her and the work she's done with our girl.

Paige is a highly skilled and experienced dog trainer. Her unique methods are effective in teaching owners how to modify their own behaviors in order to facilitate desired changes in their pets' behaviors. We have two Dobermans with very different issues, and both have shown remarkable improvement under Paige's guidance. I would highly recommend Paige to anyone who is seeking help in changing their dogs' behaviors!

Paige changed our lives! We got our dog, Piper, from a shelter about 5 years ago and struggled with multiple issues before meeting Paige. Piper has intense separation anxiety (needs to stay in a crate when we leave her or she will chew things up) and also has leash aggression/general fear aggression with other dogs. We first met Paige through a board and train session and it was SO worth it. Piper came back confident and we received a host of tools from Paige that help us manage her separation anxiety and dog aggression much more successfully. She is now trained using reward based tools such as our voice and treats, as well as through an e-collar. We can now take Piper out to dinner in public places with other dogs and walk her without reactions through our neighborhood. We always feel comfortable when Piper is in Paige's hands and we now take her to boarding with Paige as well. An added plus are Paige's monthly free training sessions which we try to make whenever we can. It's so impressive how much Piper has grown through our training with Paige and we hope to continue to see her through the rest of Piper's life!

I boarded Cooper with Paige back in early 2023 due to his very very bad behavioral issues. he ran the house, guarded anything and everything around him especially when it came to feeding him and barked uncontrollably. Before getting in contact with Paige I had no idea what to do, I would cry almost everyday worried about what to do as Cooper was my own very first dog and I had never experienced this type of behavior. She reassured me that he is basically just a bully and has zero respect for anyone and it can be fixed. The progress photos/videos she would send me had me and my family emotional and so happy about how well he was doing. He was a completely different dog in such a positive way. I still to this day board him with Paige when going on vacation or even for 1 week refreshers when I feel it's necessary. There is nothing more relieving than being able to leave your dog with someone you trust and know will take excellent care of them and that is Paige for me. The one thing that has stuck with me is Paige expressing the importance of continued training when returning home. Yes, you can send your dog to her and she can do all the initial and hard work to get them to where they need to be, but if training is not continued in the home or new environments then you are back to square one. It's all what you put in. Paige hosts once a month free group class training sessions that me and cooper look forward to as well. The love Paige has for dogs and transforming them into the best version of themselves is truly admirable. The gratitude and appreciation I have for her is immense and I really cannot thank her enough for all the help and love she's given to Cooper. We can now enjoy him and have fun with him and in the beginning I really never thought that would be possible in the future with how bad his behavioral issues were. Thank you times a million!

We didn't fully appreciate how challenging it would be to train two French bulldog puppies. Paige came to our rescue with puppy Board and Train for each of them. We always feel comfortable having Paige look after them when we travel, too. Can't recommend highly enough!

We did board and train with Paige in September 2022 for 4 weeks for our 3 year old Corgi and 2 year old Australian Labradoodle. Both were bought from breeders as puppies (so no prior trauma) and while we thought we could train them on our own with only "positive reinforcement" training, we struggled. At the time we were expecting our first child and knew our dogs needed to be better behaved to be around an infant. Our Corgi was possessive and really did not like to follow rules or commands. He ran the house and honestly, we let him. He barked at every little noise and would bark along our back fence at other dogs. Our Doodle was the opposite. Very nervous and incredibly reactive to other dogs. She pulled hard on the leash (she loves to sniff and hunt on walks) and would freak out around other dogs (even if they were across the street). While she loves walks, it was so frustrating and embarrassing taking her out because she was reactive and nervous. It was also impossible for us to walk with both dogs at the same time. Both were socialized with other dogs since they were puppies. Enter Paige! She really taught us to understand our dogs and their breed behaviors and predispositions. There are some genetic behaviors we can't avoid but now we have better control over our dogs inside and outside our home. Our dogs mind their business in our yard and on walks (no more pulling for our Doodle and less barking from our Corgi). We learned safe and effective ways to introduce our dogs to other dogs and people when it makes sense. We know when it's time to let them take a break. We can now walk both dogs at the same time and I can even do it by myself with our infant (something that seemed impossible last year)! Paige gave us the tools and understanding to have a functional home with our new addition and any time we fall behind on training (which has happened as new parents), we go back to the basics and our dogs are able to correct really quickly. Our dogs are not perfect (and we don't expect them to be) but we all have the proper training and a mutual respect and understanding. We could not have done parenthood to a newborn and our dogs without her. She is so responsive when we have questions and so generous with her time. We are so impressed with her dedication and compassion to dog training. Her brutal honesty is something a lot of dog owners need (I know we did) and has empowered us to be the best advocates for our dogs. If you have the opportunity to work with Paige, consider yourself and your dog(s) incredibly lucky!

AWARENESS: I learned about K9 Development a few years ago…read morewhen my daughter brought her dog here to have Jack help with service animal training. Fast forward to today. I'm here to see Jack, who will be helping me to train my new puppy to help combat my on going PTSD issues. NARRATIVE: I can only write this review about my interactions with Jack, since he has been the only person I've had direct contact with. Jack is a true professional (aka: Dog Whisperer). My first visit with him with my pup was an indoctrination meeting. Basically, I sat and Jack watched how my dog dealt new surroundings and some unexpected, never had my seen before items. During the hour interaction with both my dog and I, Jack asked questions and gave me tips on how I can start getting my pup to reach the goals I expect and wish her to perform. Jack is patient. Attentive and like myself, gruff. I like that! SCENE: K9 Development is located in rural Tracy, off of Hansen Road, behind the Safeway distribution warehouse. The road getting to Jack and Amy's is a compacted gravel road with speed bumps along the way. The maximum speed limit is 10 miles per hour. No rooster tails unless you wish to find out what I mean when I say Jack can be gruff. RECOMMENDATION(S): Like I stated, I can only speak for my interactions with Jack which thus far have been fantastic. I have talked to other dog owners who have taken their dogs to see Amy for training. Those conversations were all of phrase too. If you're in need of dog training, boarding or supplies, go see the folks at K9 Development. I'd recommend it.

TAKE YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE!…read more I am very surprised by all the 5 star reviews....Jack was extremely unprofessional. He made many rude, racially insensitive jokes. Smoked cigarettes throughout the entire one hour training session. Mind u he was smoking so close to my daughter who was attending the class with me with not a care in the world. We had to move away from him because he kept chain smoking throughout the lesson. He was telling endless stories about his childhood and how his dad would beat him with a belt and how he voted for trump and other political topics. (There's nothing wrong with talking politics, but there is a time and place and this was not it) he was very loud and obnoxious he cussed like a sailor. No professionalism. There is some very serious redneck culture here.Put down the cigarettes for an hour and have some respect for the people paying good money to learn from you. It was a Very unfortunate experience. My daughter and I were really looking forward to training our puppy and learning with him but after the first class i just could not return. I will not be back. No thank you. Even my daughter felt uncomfortable when leaving the facility. Not cool.

A little backstory--Athena was a COVID puppy, so she didn't get the proper early socialization she needed, especially with other dogs. On top of that, being a Belgian Malinois, she has very unique needs. Her prey drive is incredibly high, and so was her anxiety. Walks used to be stressful--she would react to every noise, person, or animal. Even getting her into the car felt like wrestling a bear. After training with Olivia, it honestly felt like we got a whole new dog back. Athena still has some anxiety and that natural Malinois prey drive, but now I have the tools and confidence to manage both effectively. We now go on daily walks--often twice a day. I've taken her to large parks and on short hikes, and she's been amazing. I'm even planning to take her on a multi-day camping and hiking trip--something I never would have imagined before her training. The biggest difference is that Olivia didn't just train my dog--she trained me too. She gave me the knowledge and tools to continue working with Athena at home, and Athena has taken to it like a fish to water. It's such a great feeling to have a smart, engaged, and obedient dog to enjoy life with. I can't thank Olivia enough for everything she's done. I highly recommend Olivia and Countryside Canine!

She would pull on the leash to see any person that would give her attention, and was reactive to most dogs we passed. Through 8 sessions of training and beautiful instruction from Olivia, Cali is now off-leash trained with an e-collar, people and dog neutral, and has fool-proof recall. She's an entirely different dog. We get to take her along with us tons of places and be GLAD she's there instead of stressed about how she'll react. My husband and I seriously cannot recommend Olivia enough!!

The trainers genuinely care about helping both dogs and owners succeed. While some of the feedback can be tough to hear at first, its all with the goal of creating clarity and consistency for the dog---and it really works. We quickly realized that many behavior issues came from our own mixed signals or inconsistent commands. The trainers are knowledgeable, patient, and make sure corrections are fair and appropriate. The progress we've seen has been amazing, and our home is so much more balanced as a result. The classes have also been great for socialization, which we know is just as important as training. Our pup absolutely loves going---it's fun, structured, and rewarding. We'll definitely continue with future classes and highly recommend this program to anyone looking to build a strong bond with their dog.

As the only ones with smaller dogs, we felt she was unpleasant toward us. She spoke to us unkindly and repeatedly tried to push her collars and leashes, insisting that our martingale collars were cheap, even though they worked perfectly throughout the training. Another trainer was also unnecessarily aggressive, making us feel as if we didn't know what we were doing. This treatment occurred every week, leaving us feeling so singled out that we decided to skip the last class and never returned. The classes are also held in a parking lot, depending on the location, which wasn't ideal. After this experience, I found some free online classes that were more effective. I regret paying for the service we received and wouldn't recommend this place unless they take this feedback constructively. Hopefully, both the owner and some of the trainers can work on improving their people skills.
