He quickly was able to identify that our dog wasn't aggressive, there was dynamics playing out in house between all dogs that created a level of tension. He provided us with tools to diffuse the house when we noticed signs that he identified that would lead to a scuffle. We saw no further aggressive behaviors from any of our dogs. One of dogs has never listened to any commands. One hour with Josh and she was trained on how to sit, lay down, and "place" with hand motions only! He has opened our eyes to the unending ways we can work with her. I can't thank him enough. Both dogs are now friendly with each other and we have had no further issues in our home. I highly recommend K9 Optima for anyone experiencing aggression issues. He is kind, compassionate, and truly does this to enrich the lives of the dogs he works with.

We paid over $6,000 for a one-month board-and-train program for our German Shepherd. One of the first things that concerned us was that he told us he had "his dogs" teaching our dog how to be a dog. We expected that, for the price, our dog would receive consistent, hands-on training from the trainer himself. Because the training took place over the Christmas holidays, it felt like our dog did not receive the level of attention and daily training we had anticipated. We also expected that, at the end of the program, we as the owners would receive several training sessions to learn how to maintain and reinforce the work at home. That never happened. When our dog came home, she was still reactive, continued chewing things as she had before, and overall showed little to no improvement. Josh gave us a spray collar (citronella or a similar scent) and instructed us to use it whenever she barked. I wasn't comfortable using it because it felt like it addressed the symptoms rather than the underlying behavior, so I chose not to use it. He also suggested that she was simply too active and that we should consider rehoming her if we couldn't handle her. That advice turned out to be completely wrong for our dog. Afterward, we worked with a local trainer for three months who focused on daily, balanced, hands-on training for both our dog and us--without spray collars or gimmicks. The transformation was remarkable. Her reactivity is gone, she learned how to behave appropriately, and we realized she wasn't "too active" at all. She was simply a family dog who needed consistent guidance and proper training. Looking back, I feel that the board-and-train program was not worth the money we paid. While Josh was always pleasant and well-intentioned, our experience was that the program did not deliver the training or results we were promised. Don't waste your money. Josh may be a great guy to rescue dogs, but in our experience he does not know how to do reactivity training or work alongside owners to change challenging behaviors.

Sabrina came out and worked with us and quickly zeroed in on the issue of the month Roscoe is such a joy to be around and I know it's because of Sabrina's skill with dogs and her understanding that it was us, the owner, that needed to be taught. My husband and I travel on occasion and we have pet sitters stay with at the house. At the end of the sit we provide blind reviews of each other that get posted on the pet sitting website. We have had a four sessions with her, all in which she worked within our schedules and came to our house to make happen. Each and every session, we learn more and more and our Scottie, Ruckus has improved. Of course, it takes practice and dedication of the owners to train a dog, but Sabrina provides you with all the knowledge and tools you need to successfully do so. She is like the female Cesar Milan, dogs just respect her from the start, it's cool to see! With our dog, we have more advanced service dog training. Even if you don't intend to have your dog perform at service dog level, I seriously recommend getting at least one session of training just to make your life easier with your dog. Hired her last year in August. Went through an extensive interview/introduction meeting prior to…read moreuse. Took lots of notes, pictures, videos of how to do things. Some things I thought didn't need pictures or videos... But thought she was being thorough. First few visits got lots of text messages about questions, concerns, comments. Again, didn't think too much of it thought she was being thorough. Then started getting phone calls at work that were not emergencies, had to tell her to text my mom, my daughter or myself and one of us would respond. Even though this was all discussed at the interview/introduction meeting and in writing on her form. When I first interviewed her, I told her my old girl might need her bottom washed once in a while if she had an accident and she said she was fine with that. A few months after being with us, she decided she didn't want to do that if the need of arose. I took a pause on using her even though I had prepaid visits due to this. So family was helping take care of the animals and I wasn't using my paid visits. Fast-forward to today I had to hire her because the family that was helping me with my dogs is hospitalized at this point. We went through lots of things last night through text messages and notes on the counter today walking her through everything. I started to get lots of text messages today because she couldn't contain my four month old puppy. She couldn't get her back in the kennel. She couldn't get her into a gates off area in the hallway, catch her and put her back in her kennel. When asked if she could do that, she said she didn't want to that she might be bit. The puppy was barking at her because she was afraid, but the puppy would not have bitten her. She knows that some of the dogs that I have don't get along with each other hence the baby gates and she was making comments about walking them through the family room to go out to go potty even though the one dog who doesn't get along with others is baby gated in the family room. You would have to go through her area to get outside, which wouldn't be a safe alternative. Also with the dogs "being afraid of her" I wouldn't want her to open the door and take them outside with the option of them getting loose, lost or hit by cars. I asked her to get the puppy into the kitchen so that she had one area to be contained in and was safe. I didn't think I would have to educate a dog sitter/dog owner to puppy proof the kitchen before she left. I left work early and rushed home because I couldn't see the puppy on camera. When I got home I walked into a huge mess. The puppy had torn up all kinds of dog diapers, gotten into dog shampoo, destroyed an entire full pack of baby wipes. Plus, there was two things that are electrical plugged in the area. The puppy chewed on one item. It's just shocking that someone that has a dog and has a business that's around animals couldn't think outside the box. Needless to say, I've terminated our contract and will not be using her again. I would not recommend using her to anyone. Per owners response: I appreciate the questions but when I have answered the questions and you repeatedly do not follow the response that is very frustrating. Usually someone hires you because they can not be available such as work. When you can't follow the agreed upon instructions and have to repeatedly text or call the number for emergencies only and not really an emergency it gets very hard to continue to do business with you. You may have received training but you are very much lacking in common sense. You were given multiple ways to contain a puppy. None of which you wanted to follow. So finally because I had to go back to work I said contain in kitchen. Though I never thought I would have to hand hold you and tell you to pick up everything she could get into especially if you have had training! Also she is not fearful nor has she bit anyone. So it may be you! With all the training you state you have had I am surprised you couldn't manage a 4 mo old puppy. You also seemed to struggle with my clear directions of separation of specific dogs for safety. You wanted to walk 2 of them through an area where a dog was that would be a safety issue. To move said dog you would need to take her into the kitchen where the puppy was you couldn't contain. So again compromising safety. I spent a 45 minute commute home one wondering if my dogs were secure in the home, two if my puppy was secure or missing because she could not be seen or heard on camera, three my geriatric dog you were initially hired for was on the ground and not on her bed. Plus when I got home she had an accident which leads me to believe she did not relieve herself even though you said you took her out. Ultimately, I think people need to understand that you don't follow through with what you say you're going to do. And you come across as knowledgeable, but you don't know how to handle specific situations that are not that hard to handle.

However, note that they have several hours mid-day where they are not open. We arrived at 10:55 to drop off our dog on the way to the airport for a week long vacation. The two staff were already scurrying out the front doors as we arrived and refused to take our dog. They said they had already locked up the back and if we tried to leave him there they would call the police for animal abandonment! I have never been more stressed out in my life as we frantically tried to find a place to take our dog with no notice and rushed to the airport. It ruined our vacation. We have never been back since. They are rude and do not even keep the hours they post let alone go the extra mile. Be very careful about the time if you choose to risk it here.

As you can see in the pictures, they took out basically another whole dog volume of fur! I really liked how the trim turned out. It was very even and she looked adorable in her bandana. That said, our girls, a 7-year-old Golden (Chloe) and a 5-year-old Terrier mix (Ellie), were in dire need of a wash. We decided to bring them to Gofrette Pamper &Play. What I really appreciate is that Serdar, the owner, is great at explaining what needs to be done for each dog. Chloe and Ellie have very different coats, so their cuts & wash needed to be different. He walked us through his plan, and honestly, I trusted him to do whatever he thought would be best for the girls. My goal was to not only look good now, but also to think about coat health as their coats grew out. When we picked them up, I was honestly blown away. We normally wash them ourselves in a custom-built wash station that my husband designed, but I couldn't believe how amazing they looked coming out. Their coats were soft and shiny, which had been so difficult to do at home. They also smelled so clean, and it has been three days, and they still smell fresh. On top of that, the girls were clearly happy. They get a little sassy after a good wash, and I could tell they felt great. I honestly LOVED my experience here and would absolutely recommend them to any pet owner looking for quality care and experience. I trust them fully, and the way the staff interacts with the dogs shows how much they truly love animals. I highly recommend Gofrette Pamper and Play, and we will not be going anywhere else. 10/10 highly recommend.

Luan showed up on time but texted me shortly after from outside saying there had been an accident. He said he accidentally cut my dogs upper leg near his groin and we came outside to see a LARGE deep open WOUND. It had been over an hour at this point and no hair cut had been completed, not sure if they wash or cut first. Although he was apologetic he did not reach out after even though he said he d escalate this to his supervisor. We never heard anything back after that. We had to spend the afternoon at the vet and my dog is still healing from the cut. Would not recommend this groomer.

In place of my mom giving her a cold-water bath in the backyard, I looked around for someone to come to the house and take care of this dirty dog. Luan was wonderful: he has, as my mom said, a calming Dog Whisperer vibe (that's a quote), and he sent me photos of my dog while she was being washed and brushed. I could tell how much he likes his job and the animals he works with, but even more, my dog got a top-tier grooming. As my parents said, she smelled good and Luan did a great job. Since I don't live in the area, I forwarded his information to a friend who lives close by so that she can get her dog in with him too.
