My. Dog. Loves. Bobbi…read more We've been using Pawsitive Pets for doggy daycare and boarding for the past several years up until last year when the business moved out of the Hayward area. We continue to use Pawsitive Pets for boarding when my husband and I go out of town for business or vacation. This is a home business, not a huge facility. There are benefits to both large and small daycare facilities. I rotate my Nala between both and that works well for her. The environment Bobbi provides at Pawsitive Pets is similar to what my dog gets at home - a comfy and calm space to relax, quiet time, a yard, walks, cuddles, one on one time with one of her favorite people in the world. And also reinforcement of good home behavior, like don't eat off the kitchen table, don't bark nonstop for hours on end, don't jump on the kitchen counter, don't crap on the carpet, etc. Plus there are a small number of other dogs for Nala to play with. It used to hurt my feelings when Nala would joyously drag me to the door at daycare drop off. Once I'd hand off the leash to Bobbi, my precious baby puppy dog that I love so much would happily walk away and leave me behind without a second look. Back then, I felt that leaving her in good safe hands with Bobbi was worth that sting. It's the same with boarding drop offs now. Despite how many months have passed, Nala still remembers Bobbi, still joyously drags me along for the ride to greet her, still has the same energetic happy wiggle butt. Nala greets her good friend with the same enthusiasm, excitement, and trust as before, but now there is no sting. I leave my precious baby puppy dog feeling very appreciative of Bobbi and knowing my Nala will be happy, safe and cared for while I'm away.

Hired her last year in August. Went through an extensive interview/introduction meeting prior to…read moreuse. Took lots of notes, pictures, videos of how to do things. Some things I thought didn't need pictures or videos... But thought she was being thorough. First few visits got lots of text messages about questions, concerns, comments. Again, didn't think too much of it thought she was being thorough. Then started getting phone calls at work that were not emergencies, had to tell her to text my mom, my daughter or myself and one of us would respond. Even though this was all discussed at the interview/introduction meeting and in writing on her form. When I first interviewed her, I told her my old girl might need her bottom washed once in a while if she had an accident and she said she was fine with that. A few months after being with us, she decided she didn't want to do that if the need of arose. I took a pause on using her even though I had prepaid visits due to this. So family was helping take care of the animals and I wasn't using my paid visits. Fast-forward to today I had to hire her because the family that was helping me with my dogs is hospitalized at this point. We went through lots of things last night through text messages and notes on the counter today walking her through everything. I started to get lots of text messages today because she couldn't contain my four month old puppy. She couldn't get her back in the kennel. She couldn't get her into a gates off area in the hallway, catch her and put her back in her kennel. When asked if she could do that, she said she didn't want to that she might be bit. The puppy was barking at her because she was afraid, but the puppy would not have bitten her. She knows that some of the dogs that I have don't get along with each other hence the baby gates and she was making comments about walking them through the family room to go out to go potty even though the one dog who doesn't get along with others is baby gated in the family room. You would have to go through her area to get outside, which wouldn't be a safe alternative. Also with the dogs "being afraid of her" I wouldn't want her to open the door and take them outside with the option of them getting loose, lost or hit by cars. I asked her to get the puppy into the kitchen so that she had one area to be contained in and was safe. I didn't think I would have to educate a dog sitter/dog owner to puppy proof the kitchen before she left. I left work early and rushed home because I couldn't see the puppy on camera. When I got home I walked into a huge mess. The puppy had torn up all kinds of dog diapers, gotten into dog shampoo, destroyed an entire full pack of baby wipes. Plus, there was two things that are electrical plugged in the area. The puppy chewed on one item. It's just shocking that someone that has a dog and has a business that's around animals couldn't think outside the box. Needless to say, I've terminated our contract and will not be using her again. I would not recommend using her to anyone. Per owners response: I appreciate the questions but when I have answered the questions and you repeatedly do not follow the response that is very frustrating. Usually someone hires you because they can not be available such as work. When you can't follow the agreed upon instructions and have to repeatedly text or call the number for emergencies only and not really an emergency it gets very hard to continue to do business with you. You may have received training but you are very much lacking in common sense. You were given multiple ways to contain a puppy. None of which you wanted to follow. So finally because I had to go back to work I said contain in kitchen. Though I never thought I would have to hand hold you and tell you to pick up everything she could get into especially if you have had training! Also she is not fearful nor has she bit anyone. So it may be you! With all the training you state you have had I am surprised you couldn't manage a 4 mo old puppy. You also seemed to struggle with my clear directions of separation of specific dogs for safety. You wanted to walk 2 of them through an area where a dog was that would be a safety issue. To move said dog you would need to take her into the kitchen where the puppy was you couldn't contain. So again compromising safety. I spent a 45 minute commute home one wondering if my dogs were secure in the home, two if my puppy was secure or missing because she could not be seen or heard on camera, three my geriatric dog you were initially hired for was on the ground and not on her bed. Plus when I got home she had an accident which leads me to believe she did not relieve herself even though you said you took her out. Ultimately, I think people need to understand that you don't follow through with what you say you're going to do. And you come across as knowledgeable, but you don't know how to handle specific situations that are not that hard to handle.

We have 4 dogs (5 when Lisa started), and each of them loves her like a favorite chew toy. She quickly discovers each dogs' personality quirks, what they like, love, and respond to, and she gives each of them loving attention. With 4 small dogs, there are lots of personalities and petty jealousies in our house. Lisa is undeterred. Our shy dog is allowed the space she needs. Our needy dog gets extra belly rubs. Our toy-obsessed dog nabs more toys from Lisa than he can play with (he thinks she is Santa Claus!) And our senior dog gets gentle affection. Lisa pays close attention and reports back what she sees. Her advice is always helpful. She turned us on to Dasquin, for example, which helps senior dogs with their joints and arthritic symptoms. She swears by pumpkin for an upset tummy, and now we do too--dogs love it. She notices when a dog needs a sweater or is wearing a pretty new dress. Sabrina came out and worked with us and quickly zeroed in on the issue of the month Roscoe is such a joy to be around and I know it's because of Sabrina's skill with dogs and her understanding that it was us, the owner, that needed to be taught. I was looking for one on one service dog training…read morewith my 1 year old Scottish Terrier (a breed notoriously hard to train) and Sabrina, seriously delivered. We have had a four sessions with her, all in which she worked within our schedules and came to our house to make happen. Each and every session, we learn more and more and our Scottie, Ruckus has improved. Of course, it takes practice and dedication of the owners to train a dog, but Sabrina provides you with all the knowledge and tools you need to successfully do so. She is like the female Cesar Milan, dogs just respect her from the start, it's cool to see! With our dog, we have more advanced service dog training. Even if you don't intend to have your dog perform at service dog level, I seriously recommend getting at least one session of training just to make your life easier with your dog.
