I love Camp Bow Wow Tracy but my pups love it more! I have been taking my two dogs, Kenobi and Anakin, 5x a week since May 2024. I have used every service they offer (day care, bath, nail care, enrichment, etc.) and every time, my pups leave the facility happy and tired. From the jump, they were accommodating and so great with me and my dogs. My older dog passed their interview easily but my little one didn't pass his interview the first time around. But there was no judgment. They quickly assured me he would more than likely pass the 2nd time. After he did pass, they have been so excited every time they come in. Now, they are jumping out of their paws every morning when I take them in the car and they know where we are going. The staff have always been so nice to me when I pick up and drop off. No matter who I deal with, they are always kind and a joy to talk to. I also make sure to check in with them to see if my dogs are having behavioral issues and give them heads up if one of my boys is feeling "spicy" or extra needy any certain day. Or if I am stuck in traffic on my way home and cutting it close to closing time, I call them and let them know I am on the way. That communication goes a long way with my rapport with the staff. And in the end, my pups win out. They get to play and socialize with other humans and dogs and it shows in their behavior out of camp. If you need consistent day care, boarding, and any extras, I can't sing Camp Bow Wow praises enough to anyone in Tracy with pups. If you don't believe me, see the photos below. Camp Bow Wow at Tracy is my life saver. The staff is ridiculously awesome and friendly. Our pet Eight loves being here. The place is very clean - you can even see it getting cleaned up in their camper cams!! When we signed up and passed his interview (yes- your baby needs to pass the interview LOL), it's more on how they react with other pups. Making sure your pup doesn't attack the other campers. I love the process of their interview day. Gives me peace of mind that they're picky of their campers. Julia gave us a tour of the facility. Julia is amazing. The place is super clean and organized! Nice thing about this place is they won't just sign up any dogs if not completely vaccinated. So you know the campers are all vaccinated and clean. They also have cameras so you can view your babies in action. Someone supervises them at all times. No told me to write this review and I'm not being paid either. I'm not much of a review writer but this place deserves one and I really want them to be in business! So far, I've dealt with Julia and Anna - both are amazing! Bring your pups and fur babies here- ! My review is based on waiting a month for Kelli Flynn, regional manager for Camp Bow Wow has not responded to my emails. When I first brought my dog Bruno to Camp Bow Wow my dog was elated! He absolutely loved (and still does) going there. Throughout 2023 and 2024, Bruno spent many weekends there as I travel a lot. The staff are all super friendly and accommodating and I feel like they really do care about the animals in their care. Our most recent visit was great (4/4-4/7)! Bruno had fun with his dog friends, plus got a bath and nail trim. When I picked him up the evening of 4/7, it was a challenging experience. I was told initially that my balance was never paid, wrong. I paid in full when I checked Bruno in. I only owed one extra night that he stayed. The attendant had to call her manager a few times to get it figured out. She explained she was new so I gave her some grace, learning a new system is not easy when you're by yourself. When we got home that evening, I noticed that Bruno had a huge gash on his back with hair missing. I called the next morning I was told that the attendant would contact the employees working with Bruno. I receive a phone call a few minutes later and the employee said that when Bruno came, he had a scab on his back and while he was playing with other dogs, the scab must have came off. At that time, I thought it was a plausible excuse so I went on with my day. On 04/20/2025, I was giving Bruno a bath and I noticed that the cut on his back was scabbed over but the head of it looks exactly like a pair of what are called Peanut trimmers. They're great for detailing (I work for a beauty college and have been raised in salons my whole life). It almost looks like while they were giving Bruno a bath, a pair of trimmers accidentally slipped and scalped him. I sent an email via the "Contact Us" button on their website since it was after hours. I received an email from Kelli stating that she took my concerns very seriously and the her and the owner would review the video footage and speak with team members involved to better understand the situation. After noticing I haven't heard from Kelli in a few weeks, I emailed her again on 5/16/2025 at 10:55am to no response. I sent her an email again this afternoon. Her email has no phone contact, but I would rather have written communication so everything is clear. Camp Bow Wow is an amazing facility and I would love to be able to take my dog there again however their lack of communication and overall concern for my situation and my dog puts the worst taste in my mouth about this place. read more

I had a similar experience to Danielle below except my pup passed his interview. After I had left him there for boarding, I got a call while I was already out of town. They assured me he was being a "good boy" and not aggressive but that they don't want to "mess up our plans" inferring that he may need to be picked up (even after I had already paid). They did accommodate solo boarding which I appreciated, but no follow up call from the manager as promised on his status. I did not know he was dismissed until long after pick up occurred and I had emailed them to ask. While I understand that some dogs just won't work out with their model, I probably would have recommended this place to other dog owner friends, but sadly will not if this is the kind of service they provide. read more

I was excited for this to open within our community as I wanted to find a place for my new rescue girl to socialize and be boarded whenever my husband and I needed to travel together. After my first experience with overnight boarding, I would not recommend Camp Bow Wow to anyone. My dog passed her initial interview with flying colors, and stayed until the end of the day for daycare to socialize. No issues were reported. We took her in for boarding and still no issues on the first day. The second day, I received a call in the morning that she had been isolated in her kennel because she snapped at a dog. I asked what happened and was told that she tried to bite the face of a dog, so one of the camp counselors reached to grab her, and put her into her kennel. During the application and interview process, I was asked if my dog had any triggers. I mentioned she doesn't like dogs getting in her face, and she doesn't like people reaching for her or grabbing her. She's a rescue who is very timid, but responsive to correction if needed with a firm "no". So the camp counselors essentially disregarded my warnings, and triggered her with their actions. Instead of handling her properly, they just threw her in her kennel the rest of the day. I then realized that the employees here aren't trained to manage dogs with different personalities. I understand they need to prioritize the safety of their staff, but to disregard the triggers of a dog when it was explicitly explained to them is a complete miss on their part. My dog is by no means aggressive, but she is fearful due to her past. I was assured by the staff at Camp Bow Wow that they understood this and would be mindful of it, but they weren't. I had to ask my dog's foster mom to help pick her up earlier than scheduled as leaving her isolated in a kennel was extremely stressful and not the way I wanted her to be treated. I hope Camp Bow Wow can assess the way they operate and make improvements. One of my biggest concerns was leaving the dogs in their kennel overnight for 10-12 hours before relieving them the next day. My dog ended up having severe diarrhea for the next few days probably due to the stress and abnormal schedule from this facility. I also don't agree assigning one camp counselor to oversee 20-25 dogs is the best decision. Maybe if they had more employees who were trained better, they'd be able to proactively prevent dogs from going face to face with each other, which is what triggered my dog to "misbehave" and be punished for it. They said she wouldn't be welcomed back, which is no problem because I'd never willingly take her there ever again. I would caution other pet parents the same when they're considering a place to board. read more

My dog always comes home clean, heathy and not stressed out which is comforting while on vacation.

We have dropped our dog son, Bruno Basa, to this location numerous times when we go on trips and can't bring him along with us, for about a year now. They allow us to bring his food from home, his bed which lays on cot that they provide, and his water. We get to watch him play and interact on the cameras. Amazingly on pick ups, he is not smelly and has not had diarrhea like many other places we have brought him to. Overall, he looks to be well taken cared of. The front desk staff has been friendly, professional, and easy to communicate with. On the cameras, staff seem to have everything under control. Location is clean and organized. I appreciate that dogs need to have other vaccinations and not just rabbies. Calls are answered efficiently and messages are returned in a timely manner. Whenever I call to get updates on how our dog son is doing, person on the phone is always so eager and happy to give me updates. We appreciate all the individuals who take such good care of Bruno and all the hard work put into this organization to keep it running. Wishing them more success in the future. read more

Unprofessional, no training in caring for puppies, with separation anxiety. Untruthful lies. I was completely misled by the untrained personnel they have working there. I was told the staff loved my dog and my dog loved the staff. He spent a week there and previously he spent 3 days with Camp Bow Wow. No one on either visit mentioned he tried to bite anyone or anything. He had had two previous baths and no one had mentioned an issue. Last week my husband called for a shampoo and my dog he wabooked. I got a call from one of your staff saying he just wasn't having it. I said OK that's strange. They said they would credit our account for the nail appointment as he just wasn't having it. I had scheduled a two-night stay for June. No one mentioned that when my husband picked him up. The next day out of the blue I get a call saying my dog has been banned from Camp Now Wow. I was so upset I cried. All I ever got was great reports from the staff. What really upset me was how I just got a phone call. No discussion on how to avoid this upsetting situation. To just ban him cause you're pissed off. Not at my dog's as much as my Husband's. For example, you told my Husband to ask our dog what was wrong in a sarcastic way. He told me that the next day after that unprofessional call lying saying he had bit all the staff which is an out right lie. Used as an excuse to punish us for whatever words were exchanged between my Husband and your staff member. I will make sure I post and tell at least 5 people every day what a terrible establishment. read more

I love how accommodating Camp Bow Wow is and how each of the staff members truly seems to love dogs. It makes me feel so comforted to know that my two dogs (2.5 and 1.5 year old Rottweilers) are well looked after when I leave them in their care. I'm also so appreciative for the communication from the staff- the photos, email updates, and even phone calls to touch base is so important to me. Also, I know people have certain thoughts or comments about CBW not taking their dogs or working with them; I have to say, my smaller dog didn't pass his first interview, but I hold nothing against CBW as it's my job to ensure my pup is prepared for social interactions with both people and other dogs. As for staff working with dogs, they ARE there to handle easy dogs, yes, because they're not specialized dog trainers. That job falls to us dog OWNERS, not CBW. I've taken my dogs to several CBW locations (and on multiple occasions) and each one has been a phenomenal experience. I love that I can call, email, or even look at the cameras, any time I want an update to check on the well-being on my boys. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Camp Bow Wow and the incredible staff that makes it such a wonderful place! Thank you!! read more

I started with Camp Bow Wow when they first opened, taking a very shy, not very confident golden retriever to day care. And, she was definitely shy and staying to herself that first day. (This is pretty normal, I hear..). The 'Camp Counselors' helped her gain confidence and worked with her to become comfortable and today? She jumps at every opportunity to go play. She comes home exhausted, confident and socialized - and, having the cameras available for me to check on her from time to time? Awesome! I felt so good about their services, that I have used the boarding multiple times and am impressed with the entire operation (you can ask for a tour at any time!). I had the same experience as Danielle and Dawn. I brought my Doberman here for an interview and she didn't pass. The staff seemed fearful about her breed and untrained about dogs. She attends Camp Bow Wow at a different location for four years now (along with other daycares) and the staff loves her. No issues ever brought to my attention. She was gentle with the slow senior dog they first brought in as she is with our other dog but when she wanted to play with the rambunctious puppy they called the interview quits and said she was aggressive. In the end I'm glad she didn't pass the interview because the staff didn't seem to know what they were doing and I'd rather drive out of my way to know my dog is safe and cared for by knowledgeable staff. read more

The staff and owner are super friendly and really care for the pets and the pet owners. The facility is clean and spacious. My dog is always excited to go to the back when he gets there. We just recently took our puppy to Camp Bow Wow. I was very impressed with how clean the facility is and how friendly the front desk employee was that helped us with our interview day. She took the time to sit on the ground and help our puppy to feel comfortable with her before taking her back to meet other dogs. Each time I picked our puppy up, the employees told me how much they love her and how great she is. The highlight is that our puppy comes home exhausted each time because she gets to play and interact with so many other dogs! We love the webcams too. My kids love watching our puppy play. We boarded Vincent & Monet part of 4th of July weekend. Things could not have gone better. When we checked the webcam, they were well supervised and having friendly interactions with the other small dogs. I never saw them left alone. When we picked them up they were clean and happy and all of the gear I had left for them was returned. The place smelled as good as it did when we dropped them off. I was obvious they were well cared for. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. They were timely in both getting them in and getting them back out to us. I LOVED our old Diggity Dog facility and was so sorry to see it close but Camp Bow Wow meets and may exceed the fabulous service we had with Diggity. I say that because this place seems to have an edge on keeping up with the doggie do-do. Not that Diggity was bad...it wasn't...but I could see on the webcam how immediate waste collect happens at Bow Wow. It's hard to keep up with so many animals but I can see...and smell... how vigilant Bow Wow is on this issue. So glad to have them here in Tracy! read more

This would be my first time putting my puppy into overnight boarding and I'm not sure how to feel about it. My puppy literally ran out of there when I went to pick him up and he was super thirsty and hungry like he was not being fed all day. I picked him up and my poor pup looked rough and was wet in the face come to find out they sprayed my puppy in the face with water which he does not like at all and I don't approve of. I was told he was mounting other dogs but I literally watched the videos and saw none of that happening he was mostly away from the group of dogs but ok. I wish the staff would interact with the dogs, they like looked so bored in the play areas like where are the toys or balls or something interactive! poor pups are in their rooms and stuffed in a common area with nothing to do but stare at the boring staff members who don't pay them no mind. I don't think I would be bring my puppy back anytime soon. read more

Took my baby for bath nd brush, they just gave him bath and not even a little tangle under the ears were brushed. And he smelled awful. I would have saved $85 if done the same thing at home. Probably they get to choose to give an exceptional service to quite a few. The facility is very clean though :) read more

Had my Huskey bathed, nail clipped and de-shedded and she came home not even smelling good, but worse is we paid extra for the de-shedding and she came home with clumps of hair all over and loose hair. We like the boarding but won't use the grooming anymore and now are paying another groomer to correct it. read more

My golden retriever Wille absolutely loves this place. He goes every Thursday and it is the highlight of his week. He also had a long 2 weeks stay and did great. It was a great comfort for us to be able to check in on him on the cameras daily and it felt very safe compared to other services. read more
