I really appreciated that and can tell she truly wants us to succeed! They email "homework" after the class which has pointers and a review of the class which is very helpful. There are 3 or 4 other trainers/aides there that are hands on in the class too (i was worried that with 10-15 dogs it would be hard to get one on one help but there are more than enough trainers there to lend a hand) I really don't know why we didn't sign up for this class years ago! The progress we've seen has been amazing, and our home is so much more balanced as a result. The classes have also been great for socialization, which we know is just as important as training. Our pup absolutely loves going---it's fun, structured, and rewarding. She seemed a perfect fit until she become comfortable a couple months after. From then onwards she was an absolute nightmare to say the least. Ollie had SO MANY issues I couldn't even name them all. And we're not talking about basic obedience problems. She had aggressive tendencies. But the scariest was her unpredictability where she can be sweet one second and snap in the immediate next for absolutely no apparent reason. We sought professional help from multiple trainers, advice from several professionals, including our vet, the shelter where we rescued her from, and several other rescue groups. One Pitbull group specifically stated she was "predatory and dangerous and needs to be euthanized." Over time, Ollie did not improve and in fact became increasingly aggressive. After an incident where she cornered a family member we came to the conclusion that the recommendation for behavioral euthanasia was in fact the only solution. With a heavy heart, we decided to go that route for the safety of everyone. We took a few days off to spend spoiling her and when the day came, Ollie was sedated and the mobile euthanasia vet on her way over. But at that last moment as she laid her head on my lap and looked at us, something just didn't feel right. We pulled the plug on the whole operation then and there. In a last ditch effort, the next two days were spent on the phone doing consultations to several board training facilities. Unfortunately I didn't get a great feel for them. Then I received a call from my vet's office from their receptionist who told me she heard Bone-A-Fide did a great job with difficult cases. At this point I didn't have much hope but I called and left them a msg anyway. And I am SO HAPPY I did!!! Stephanie from Bone-A-Fide Dog Training called me back and spent almost two hours on the phone with me. I explained all of Ollie's issues and she basically became our angel right then and there. Full wings and all! What immediately made Stephanie different is that instead of talking prices and making promises, she was genuinely sympathetic, truly listened, and assured me that as hard as it was, sometimes behavioral euthanasia is the kindest thing to do for a dog with so many issues. But she wanted to help us any way she could. She had me send over some videos of Ollie just to observe her and said she would meet with her team and get back to me. The next morning she called to set up an in-person consultation and came up with a game plan. For the next few months Stephanie, Kari, and Kim worked with Ollie and the transformation was unreal! Truly, what resulted was a phenomenon. They set realistic expectations and worked with us humans on how to communicate with her. While Ollie will always have her quirks, she did a complete 180 and her "quirks" are just that. No longer dangerous. We still work with Ollie every day to remind both her and ourselves that it is an ongoing progress. But the progress has been amazing. Ollie is now even great friends with other dogs she previously tried to attack! Ollie is proof that with the RIGHT trainer anything can happen! Bone-A-Fide was so professional, kind, knowledgeable, and I felt that through it all they do this because they truly love it. It was never about a price. To this day, Stephanie still checks in with us to make sure all is well. I cannot recommend them enough! They literally saved Ollie's life when everyone else had given up. We boarded our French Bulldog at Camp Bow Wow during a family vacation. One of our biggest concerns…read morewas that other dogs were repeatedly mounting her during daycare. We noticed this frequently on the live cameras and brought it to the staff's attention, asking that they be aware of it and help prevent it during her longer stay. Unfortunately, we continued to observe the behavior. When we picked her up, she had lost weight, had a runny nose, and her behavior around other dogs had changed significantly. Before boarding, she was much more comfortable around other dogs, but afterward she became reactive and barked at them regularly. We understand that boarding can be stressful for some dogs and that dog-to-dog interactions are not always predictable. However, we were disappointed that our concerns about the repeated mounting behavior did not appear to be adequately addressed. Based on our experience, we have decided to use an in-home pet sitter for future vacations. We hope this feedback helps the facility improve supervision and ensure that dogs who are repeatedly targeted by other dogs receive more intervention and support.

Unfortunately, the experience didn't meet expectations--primarily due to how the initial interaction unfolded: When I arrived, there were four staff members at the front desk, but I was barely acknowledged. First impressions are important, and the lack of a warm welcome set a tone that was hard to ignore. During the intake, I interacted with two team members who were pleasant, but didn't seem especially confident or comfortable around dogs. I had mentioned that my dog is shy and didn't like people getting in her face (initially). Despite this, one of the team members leaned in toward her face with a treat--exactly what I'd cautioned against. When my dog growled, both staff members visibly flinched, which further unsettled the interaction. By contrast, other daycare environments we've experienced were led by teams who clearly understood dog behavior and projected calm confidence, which helped both me and my dog feel at ease. As a pet owner, I'm looking for a place where the staff is not only passionate about animals, but also trained and comfortable managing a range of dog personalities. That sense of trust and professionalism makes all the difference. I hope this feedback is useful as you continue to build and improve your service.
