I have been getting my hair colored since 13 and aware of the capabilities and limitations, but this is so subpar for $400. Hopefully, it will lighten up after a few washes/will have to go elsewhere to get it corrected. Also, I despise a salon that requires that you purchase a blow dry. $70 extra so I can see what color you turned my hair? Am I supposed to walk out with it wet? The blow dry is not a full, bouncy blowout either. It's what you'd do yourself at your house. Added negative, I referred my mother to the salon and was told by her that I'd receive a referral gift. I didn't mention at checkout because I wanted to see if it was worth coming back to. Unfortunately, I think I'm done here.

My appointment was for a pedicure. The normal parking lot had a police car blocking off the entrance so I just parked on the street. Street parking was plentiful and free! When I walked up outside I noticed they had a sign on the door that reminded guests to wait outside until their appointment time. I waited until a few minutes before my appointment and was greeted right when I walked in. Everyone working in the salon had masks on and of course it was also required for all guests. I've been here a few times and Rose is incredible with nails. She's personable and it's really the best pedicure I've received. My favorite part is the marine cooling masque she uses on my feet and them wraps them up in a hot towel. It's a literal spa for your feet. This product leaves my feet tingly even after I leave the salon! Rose cleaned her entire station with cleaning products after me before she took a new guest which was great to see especially during this time. Overall, her station is always well-kept and I've never had a bad experience with her. Thank you so much for my much needed self care moment and I can't wait to come back for another :)

I continued to return specifically because I liked one particular hairdresser and had no complaints about her work. My review was never an attack on the stylists themselves . However, I did feel that the environment was unwelcoming at times, and after my third visit, I felt it was important to be honest about that experience. Part of my review included concerns that were shared with me by my sister, who no longer comes to this salon due to feeling uncomfortable and out of place. She explained to me that on multiple occasions she felt she was treated differently, received looks that made her feel she did not belong, and was consistently serviced last while other customers were taken first. She is not confrontational and chose not to address it herself, but her experience mattered to me, and that is why I mentioned it. Sharing someone's lived experience does not make me a liar. To say that dismissing someone's feelings or perspective as "insane" simply because it does not match your own is deeply concerning. You cannot prove or disprove how someone feels in a space, regardless of who else was present that day. Asking a stylist basic questions about management and tipping was not done maliciously. I was simply trying to understand the environment and leadership of the establishment something customers are allowed to be curious about. Unfortunately, your response has now answered those questions for me. I fully understand that this salon primarily serves children, and that delays can happen. My issue was not the eight-minute wait itself, but the lack of communication. Being left standing to the side without explanation while others are attended to naturally creates confusion and discomfort. A simple acknowledgment would have gone a long way. I acknowledge that I could have explained certain parts of my review more clearly, and I am doing so now. What I will not accept is being labeled dishonest or having my concerns minimized instead of addressed with professionalism. I am entitled to my opinion and my experience, just as other reviewers are. I returned for the skill of one stylist, but overall, I did not feel welcomed, and your public response has reinforced that feeling. This interaction alone has ensured that I will not be returning. I also find it concerning that, rather than seeking clarification or addressing the feedback constructively, your response publicly labels me dishonest and dismisses my experience outright. That approach reinforces the very concerns raised in my review. I stand by my review as an accurate reflection of my experience and perspective. I returned for one stylist's work, but overall did not feel welcomed. Your response has confirmed my decision not to return. One would think she could possibly look into things ahead of time. Got about three inches cut off the top, which I didn't ask for, to the tune of $70 total, including tip; not to mention I wasn't even informed there was a surcharge for paying with a credit card... no big deal but still should have been informed as I had cash. And if you want to have a conversation with someone childlike -- "I tot I taw a puttytat" -- be sure to see her. Holy cow, I felt like I was on another planet. Definitely will not be returning... oh, even with the apologies for a half-hour delay due to a man's short haircut... they couldn't have called me ahead of time? And God forbid they ever answer the phone, period; called up there two days, numerous times, before ever getting a response to begin with. What an embarrassing establishment overall.

It's also obviously a family affair since I'm fairly certain I was the only one there who didn't know anyone. But the way they spoke about mutual friends/family was really evident. Everyone knew who they were speaking about. I thought the prices were definitely reasonable. I won't comment on my result since someone doing your hair for the first time is going in blind (and I've had people who have done mine several times come out looking like they're going in blind). But it definitely did look awesome. It's quaint, but they offer you drinks (even wine). My one complaint would be the space is too small. Every station was taken and they were even sharing stations (not in a weird way AT ALL) just to get someone in the chair, in the dryer and in the sink. But overall experience was definitely higher end and I will be back (hopefully with Hannah). I do miss the days of living in the city and having one person completely dedicated to color and another completely dedicated to style...that being said they don't have the space for that so not going to try to say something negative about that. If you're nearby, I truly suggest you check it out.

I am so happy to be able to review Pagani's! But first let me share this - I just got my hair done yesterday at the Oak Park salon. Alisa (who is the queen of my world for how she makes me look and feel) paid ME a compliment when I go there. She told me that my hair always looks so good and that I do a great job syliing it! I am like - ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!! I told her the ONLY reason that is the case is because of the cut and color I get from her!! She is amazing and has such a talent!!! When I moved to Riverside 6 years ago I went quite a while before getting my hair cut and colored. I wasn't sure where to go and i didn't really know a lot of people. I was referred to a salon in the city which wasn't far from my job but I like to keep things local. So I tired EVERY hair salon in Riverside! SERIOULSY - every one! I only tried them all ONE TIME because they just didn't fit what I was looking for. The last one I went to was Basili's and had an appointment with Alisa. This was the happiest day my hair has ever had! She started out by asking me question about my hair and color...what I liked what I didn't like; what I wanted to accomplish with the style and color; what my job was and how much time I had to devote to my hair style and color and so on! I was impressed! The first cut and color I received from Alisa was awesome! She let me know that if I had any problems or issues with the cut or color after I got home to let her know. She said she did not want me to be afraid to let her know if there were problems - and the thing is - she REALLY meant it! I had NO complaints and was so relieved to finally find a sylist and a salon I loved!! Needless to say I have been a fan since then. When Alisa got married and moved out of state the only question I could ask her was 'but what about me?? What about my hair??!!" I mean I was happy for her and all that but seriously who was going to do my hair??? Thankfully she came back every six weeks to take care of her clients! Have you ever had a stylist do that before?? I haven't! She is now back in town full time - thank God - and has moved to the Oak Park salon! I get so many compliments on my hair cut and color and I never have to use hairspray on my hair! It falls right every single time and it is shiny and soft and absolutely gorgeous every day!! She puts this magic potion on after rinsing the color out and it makes my hair feel and look so good! My color lasts longer than I have ever experienced before and the cut never grows out shaggy. I will never go to another stylist - Alisa rocks and so does Pagani's - in Oak Park and Riverside!! They also cater to your needs and schedule. I recently had foot surgery and Alisa offered to come to my house to do my hiar if needed! You go the salon and they will give you a laptop to check your email, they ask if the music is OK with you, you get a head massage and the shampoo chairs have foot stools! LOVE THAT!! But the most important thing is that you get what you pay for and so much more! You are wasting your money if you are going any place else! read more

Treat yourself to a hairstyle/haircut at this cozy, unpretentious yet very professional salon. I've had only four hair stylists in the past 22 years. Yes, I'm very finicky when it comes to haircuts, and my hair can be difficult to work with--it's dense, wavy, grows in different directions, etc. So when I find a good stylist, I stick with her/him. Well, I had grown a bit tired of my previous stylist's work. Same ol' same ol' every time. So I read some reviews on Yelp and decided to go into Pagani and, specifically to request that Elle cut my hair. I'm so glad I did. My first time there, two months ago, I was warmly greeted. No waiting time. Began with the obligatory hair-washing, which I figured would be pretty standard. I was pleasantly surprised by the full-blown scalp massage I received. After 10 minutes Elle greeted me and walked me to her station. I explained the parameters (must have some bangs, shorter on sides, usually wear the longer top a bit messy, etc.). WE looked at some pictures and then she went to work. At the end of the session I was delighted with Elle's work. Fantastic haircut. I never would have been able to describe the cut to her ... she just figured it out. It wasn't the same old haircut I'd been getting for years; it was a new style. But it was also a style that I could work with and make my own. All told, Elle spent a full hour cutting my hair. Then I got a rinse, conditioning, and SECOND scalp massage after the cut. When I checked out, I was utterly shocked when the very kind woman at the counter said, "That will be $25 for today." Stunning. Seriously? I would have been quite happy to pay $40 or even $50 for the haircut, scalp massages, and generally fabulous treatment from all of the Pagani pros. After I paid the $25, I was doubly shocked when she asked me when I would like to come back for my COMPLIMENTARY "clean-up" at the 2-week mark (the halfway point between the cut and the next cut). I've never heard of such a thing ... a free touch-up? I booked it. At the end of the 90 minutes I spent there, I tipped Elle and the young man who washed my hair/massaged my scalp at nearly 100% and left feeling great. The treatment I received at the "clean-up" and at my next month's cut were equivalent to that first night's bounty of goodness. At Pagani they really know how to treat a person like a person. Everyone's always happy (or so it seems), and they always seem happy to see you. I leave there feeling refreshed, renewed, restored. Oh, by the way, every time you go, they give you referral cards ... if you hand them out to friends who go there for a cut, they get $10 off their first cut and you get $10 off of your next cut. It's a great deal! My wife has started going there as well, and she adores the place ... and Elle in specific. So Go to Pagani. Ask for Elle. You won't regret it. If you are looking for great color, cut and style than look no further than Pagani in Oak Park. I started coming here about 6 years ago on a good friend's recommendation (her hair always looked fantastic!) and have been a huge fan ever since. Pagani reminds me of a layed-back, private, exclusive salon minus any pretentiousness or posturing. When I walk in I automatically feel special, and the greeting and care from the entire staff is warm and pampering. The vibe is friendly yet professional, relaxing yet upbeat, trendy yet casual. Most importantly though - and I cannot speak highly enough of him - is my stylist George. He is amazing, a true genius with color, shears and weilds a mean blowdryer! Seriously, I have never had a bad cut or color, not even an "average" cut or color, his work is truly brilliant. He is a veteran (and I mean that is a good way!) in the industry with a loyal clientele. He is also the master colorist at Pagani and is always up on the latest techiniques, colors, as well as cuts, products, etc...He is also continually training and keeping up with the latest - - not only on his own but through the support of the owner, Frank. He is a perfectionist in his work, and truly, truly cares about how you feel about your services. He also has great opinions and likes to push the envelope with suggesting changes and new looks for you....and even understands when you decide to hold off for now (sorry George, not gonna grow my bangs out till summer!). Plus, he is just a pleasure period. Frank, the owner, is constantly investing in the business and keeping up with the latest products and trends. They do change their in-house line a few times a year...but I believe it is for the best and to continue to provide the highest quality products and services to their clients. In terms of cost, I too have heard the stories about Pagani being expensive, but I think that's all relative. Plus, I believe Frank took his prices down across the board over the past year of so as a "stimulus" move with his customers. I highly doubt any other salon in Oak Park did that!! Jasmine is an up and coming stylist who everyone should keep their eye on! She gives you a great wash / conditioning treatment too with a to-die-for neck massage. And she is just one cool chick. I feel like the staff at Pagani is part of my extended family - - may sound weird, but I have love for them all...especially my George!! How was I to know that the minute I met Bill, that my hair would be happy and healthy for the rest of my life! He suggested I come see him for a cut and a color and I was nervous at first being that I work in the beauty industry....I couldn't imagine cheating on my former hair stylist. I am so glad that I did and I wish all of my friends and family would go see him! Bill is no b.s. He knows his stuff. He's not about the gossiping that you usually do during hair appointments. His job is to make your hair look amazing and gosh darnit, he's going to do it. I walked in the door and was greeted by the front desk gal who welcomed me with a big smile. Since I work in the industry myself, I've been to/worked at plenty of places. I'm extremely critical of the care and customer service that I receive and I felt relieved immediately after I walked in the door. This place has it going on. My hair and I are now in Bill's hands. He explained some color mumbo jumbo and asked me some questions about what I liked and disliked about the color of my hair. I answered as honestly as I could and he goes in the back and quickly returns with a color so suited for me, I could barely stand it. I've been craving a color like this for years and thought that my ex-colorist was doing a bang-up job until Bill foiled this loveliness into my locks. After my color, he put some glaze stuff on my hair and it has never felt better. I honestly could say I noticed a difference immediately. I showed him a picture of the cut that I was trying to achieve and low and behold, he cut it exactly like the picture. Imagine that. I seriously felt like a super model in his chair. His technique is like no-other. I've gone to extremes such as getting my hair cut and colored by Jennifer Anniston's hairstylist, Chris McMillian, and there is no comparison. Bill has a talent that can't be taught. He's got it. Since my visit to Pagani, I've gotten many many compliments and I rave about Bill every time. You are doing yourself a huge dis-service by not seeing him for your hair needs. I am smitten! When you go to see Bill, make sure you have things to do and people to see afterwards. Love, love, love Geo and Pagani!!! Geo was recommended to me by a friend after moving to Chicagoland in 1995. He has taken me through various lengths and styles. All of which I get amazing compliments on. I am 100% gray, so you would think after coloring every 4 weeks all these years there would be some damage along the way, but NEVER! As I continue to age, Geo has changed my color accordingly. He remains at the top of his game by traveling around the country getting fresh ideas and learning new techniques at various hair shows. He also does my daughter's hair. Whenever she does something new, it is not long until all the other girls have the same style at her school. As for Pagani as a business, you are all an amazing team! I am greeted with a smile the moment I come through the door. My coat is hung, a beverage offered and service is begun immediately. I know everyone has their work to do, but they all make me feel like there is no one more important than me for the hour and a half I am there. I have enjoyed getting to know them all and love catching up on their lives and families every month. I went to Frank at Pagani upon a recommendation from a mutual acquaintance. I have never been happier with my hair (and it is much healthier too) and have had so many compliments from many different people. He is a genius and truly loves what he does. He took his time with me and ensured that I had the proper cut and color. I have been back since and will continue to go here in the future. They also do ballyage, which I couldn't even begin to explain, but it is much more natural looking than normal highlights and it does not have to be done as often. I went three months before I had my highlights done again and you would never know. (I know, it's crazy). And, I've never taken a straight iron to my hair again since using all the wonderful products he recommended. My hair comes out smooth, straight and shiny every time I blow it out. The salon itself is quite nice and the staff are lovely. I have been recommending Frank and the salon to everyone I know ever since and cannot say enough good things about Frank and the salon. And , contrary to what some people may have heard, their prices are not as expensive as some salons. They are actually quite reasonable considering the excellent job they do! read more

I can honestly say that I have never been treated so well at any other salon. When I first met my stylist George, I knew right away we were a perfect fit. George spent a lot of time going over different ideas about styles and color with me. I knew he was very busy, but I felt like I was the only person in the salon. The rest of the staff is extremely competent and professional. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. When I first walked in, I was greeted by name, offered a drink and offered to have my coat hung up for me. When I asked if they had Coke, they said no, we have water, wine, coffee and tea. Two minutes later the receptionist appeared with a Coke for me. (she had run down to the store to get one for me!) as for George, IHave to say my hair has never looked better. George knows intuitively what I like and what is realistic to maintain on a daily basis. (I have my appointments booked for the next year.) Frank is my hair savior!!! I have naturally dark brown hair and originally went to Appearances Salon in River Forest where the owner gave me 2-toned hair color. My hair was not only 2 different colors but very damaged. I came to Pagani and Frank not only fixed my damage by giving me a deep conditioning treatment which made my hair very soft, but also by fixing my color and making me blonde-which is what I wanted all along. At this point my hair was a weird orangy color and I presumed it to be beyond repair-but Frank can fix anything! Now my hair is blonde and Frank gave it different tones of blonde throughout so it looks natural. And its also very soft! I highly recommend the deep conditioning treatment (takes 10 mins) and leaves your hair super soft/shiny! I also bought the L'Oreal products-special shampoo and a conditioning mask to protect my color. I highly recommend the mask-my hair has never been this soft and pretty! Balayage is an amazing way to color or highlight hair that looks much more natural and non-streaky. Highly recommend Frank-he's a board certified colorist and teaches others how to color-he is a hair savior! read more

Michael is nothing short of PHENOMENAL!!! If it werent for him think i would have just chopped all my hair off by now! I am so picky with my hair, and i used to never be satisfied with anything any stylist would do, and then i met MICHAEL. With Michael i can honestly go into the salon without even telling him what i want and i ALWAYS walk out happier then when i walked in. I have had black hair for the past 12 years of my life, and i definitely never thought i would EVER go light again, but low and behold Michael tells me that he wants to belyage my hair to lighten it up a little bit and i LOVE IT! Not only does it brighten my skin, but it never looks grown out! Which is perfect for me since im pregnant and im not going to be coloring my hair for a while. I never imagined going light again in my life, and now i dont think ill ever go back dark! Unless Michael reccomends it of course! Michael is addicting ladies! Im in there almost every week, even if just for a blow out! He just knows how to make any woman look beautiful! If you need anything done to your hair Michael is your man. I tried Pagani on a whim since I've lived in Riverside for over a year but had not found my home salon yet. They set me up with Allison and I went in for low lights to tone down my too bright blonde color. Allison talked me into overall color, and I enjoyed the extreme warmth of all the employees and getting to know my stylist Allison and Frank the owner. At the end of the day I wasn't sold on the color, and so I called right back the next day since I was hoping to get a fix with the holidays being a few days away. Frank was amazing, got me in that evening with Allison as she stayed past opening hours and had a color adjustment on the house, along with free product thrown in since I adore the brand they use (davines). Frank stopped by from his Oak Park branch to check in early on, and from home at the end to make sure the end result passed my approval - which it did! I was blown away by Frank and Allisons' professionalism and kindness and sincerity. I am now an official client and look forward to continuing to go there, as well as referring my husband as well! This review may start a tad bit negative, but I feel it necessary to add my two cents. I scheduled an appointment with Jennifer for a Saturday. I arrived on time and expected to be taken on time. This was not the case. I waited over 45 minutes before her assistant took me back for my shampoo. Jennifer spent approximately 8 minutes cutting my hair and it was not even. I was very disappointed. On the brighter side, I scheduled an appointment with Geo and my haircut was FANTASTIC!!! He was on time and did not overbook himself. I will definitely schedule ALL future appointments with Geo. I have read all the reviews for Pagani and I find it funny that the only person that seemed to be overbooking herself was Jennifer. It looks to me like her leaving the salon was a great asset for them. I prefer to be taken care of and I like to feel important. Go see Ginger! I am so happy that I went to this salon! Ginger cut my hair and was so attentive to what I wanted for the cut and also that I am growing out my hair. I got the reshaping that I wanted. Ginger also showed me what I have been asking stylists for a long time - how to do a quick messy updo. I was always told my hair was not long enough - but Ginger took the time to show me how to pin up my shoulder length har - and I love her for it!!! I have a tricky color and she really understood what I was looking for - and won't add what I don't want - blonde highlights- which for some reason has happened to me a lot even when I clearly say - I don't want blonde highlights. I walked out of the salon feeling great about my hair - and I have been able to replicate that messy updo that I have wanted forever so many times - it has changed my approach to my hair! I have been jumping from salon to salon and stylist to stylist for years. I have finally found my stylist for life, no joke. Michael is incredibly talented, WONDERFUL with color and makes you look like an a-list celebrity when you leave. I had my hair done Saturday and it still looks perfect 2 days later. He listens to you, how you like to wear your hair, etc. - but he also isn't shy about giving his opinion either (which I really appreciate). What I also like about Michael is his personality - he's fun to talk with and has a great sense of humor. And best of all, Michael LOVES doing hair - and that shows in his work. He's always learning new techniques, and on top of the latest & greatest with color, etc. (For instance - Michael uses the balayage technique for highlights...it grows out really naturally and lasts longer than foils). I won a haircut from RB High School, which this salon donates to constantly! I tried the salon with the free haircut, and WOW!! Bill, the owner's son,was a master of the scissors! After he transformed this "old lady" into a hipper version of herself I was hooked. Bill is not only extremely talented, but the most entertaining gentleman I have run across in a long time. He is old school polite, charming, and a fun upbeat guy to be around. My second visit I booked a color treatment and style, and was amazed with the results he gave me. I love the charm of this salon, the people are so friendly and gracious,and they go the extra mile to make you feel special and pampered. I could not be happier with my experience at Pagani. As soon as I walked in I was pampered. They asked me what I wanted to drink and constantly made sure I was comfortable. Michael did an amazing job on my cut and color. I have never colored my hair before and he gave me absolutely amazing natural looking golden and reddish highlights in my brunette hair using the balayage technique on the website. It looks so subtle like I've been out in the sun. Frank, jasmine, Michael, the receptionist and everyone there was extremely helpful and friendly. I got it done yesterday and have gotten a lot of compliments on it. I am a young mom in oak park, and the prices were very manageable for me. Can you say yummy 19-year old hottie Shampoo guy? Hi Kyle.... Yes, I really wanted to find a place IN TOWN where I could trust someone with my hair. And yes, the cute Kyle ONLY took my coat, served me hot tea, shampoo'd and conditioned and combed my hair, but come ON. What are you people looking for! This was pampering at its finest. Now, Sheryl did my cut and she was also extremely professional. She talked to me as long as I wanted about what to do with my cut. And she knew exactly how to do it. What more can you ask for? The front desk gal was a sweetie. I had a great time and left feeling like a million bucks...... or at least that I got more than my money's worth. A friend referred me to Michael at Pagani after I had grown bored with how my previous stylist cut my hair. No matter how many times I told her I was up for a change, I always came out with the same haircut. I've had my hair cut twice by Michael since that time and have never received so many compliments on a haircut! He takes his time and really listens to you and explains what cut would look good with your features. You can tell he loves what he does and it is reflected in the superior service he provides his clients. My friend has also referred two other people to Michael and they are both repeat customers as well. His prices are very reasonable and his hours are very convenient. Michael is a genius! I have always been extremely picky about my hair and I would spend almost anything to make it look perfect. I used to bring in pictures of Victoria's Secret models and other celebrities saying "Give me that." I never got it! My bayalage from Pagani changed my life. My hair now looks exactly how I always wanted it. The color is beautiful and doesn't fade. I have sun-kissed natural looking hair without the grow out or streakiness of highlights. I trust Michael with all decisions about my hair. He gives you his full focus the entire time and you can tell he really cares about making you beautiful. Frank is a genius! He is an absolute artist. I never used to spend much money to get my hair cut, but then I never really had a good haircut before. Once Frank cut my hair and I saw how good I looked and felt, I knew I would never trust anyone else to cut it right after that. The staff at Pagani is wonderful. Very attentive and friendly. I feel like everyone in the salon really cares about what they do and wants to be the best at it. Honestly, for the overall experience and the most beautiful haircut I've ever had, I would expect it to cost more than it does. I have been a client of Jennifer's since she started working at Pagani. I find it really interesting that there are as many negative comments about her being over booked. It sounds as if either people from that salon are writing these comments since she left, or there are making assumptions without know the other side of the story. We all have days at work when something can be out of their hands, now is i fair to slander her reputation? She is an amazing stylist with a big heart for clients.
