Since I'm Tech-Savvy (My kids vigorously disagree), I found this company on the Internet. I e-mailed the on-line contact. It took more than a week for a reply. Not exactly responsive customer service. The price was good, so I gave them a play. The dumpster showed up, but It was from a different company. It turns out that Synergy, just found me a cheap dumpster and marked up the price. No harm really. I filled the dumpster with junk and called for a pickup from the third party. End of chapter 1. Chapter 2 is much shorter. I e-mailed Synergy to ask about a second dumpster. That was about 3 weeks ago. Still no reply. And Synergy Environmental couldn't have my junk if they had the last dumpsters on earth. Synergy stinks - worse than stinky house junk!

This was a complete move out of our family home in Livonia as we are relocating my elderly father to live near me in Washington, DC. My time in Michigan was very limited and I needed a thorough job done, so we could put the house on the market ASAP. Brad Abbott, the owner, is a great guy and Chuck It is truly a local, family-owned business. Brad took the time to make sure to accommodate my tight schedule by reserving the time and resources for multiple truck loads, as it was difficult to estimate exactly how much stuff there would be, being a move out. My parents had piled up a lot of stuff after 50 years in Michigan! Brad and Austin performed the job, arrived promptly, and were very thorough, They literally opened every single drawer, cabinet, closet, etc. as directed and emptied it out. They organized the loading such that anything that could be donated to charity was grouped separately from items destined for the landfill/recycling centers. It took THREE very full truckloads to empty the house: the basement, main floor, and 2nd floor. It was a very hot and muggy day to boot - Brad and Austin truly worked their tails off. I just cancelled my service with Waste Management after approximately 6 weeks with them. Let me…read morestart by saying that I used Waste Management for my business out-of-state for 10 years and I never called them with a complaint. When I moved to Michigan I started service with them for my residence based on my prior positive experience. During the last two weeks they cancelled service twice citing weather conditions. Each time they did not bother sending the email informing me that they were not coming until almost 2:00 pm. By that time I had already dragged all of my trash to the curb. The first time they cancelled they told me "put out extra trash next time, we will pick it all up since we did not get to you this week." You guessed it, I hauled lots of extra trash through the snow and then "surprise" at almost 2:00 pm get the email that they are not coming AGAIN. In the meantime, I noticed a competitor's truck was picking up my neighbor's trash. I also received deliveries on these days of no service from UPS, FedX and the Post Office. I live on a major road in Brighton, it is paved and regularly cleared by plows because I am close to an elementary school. They told me that the tires on their trucks cannot function in the snow like the mail carrier's trucks and some of their competitor's trucks. Really, they operate a business in Michigan and their truck tires cannot handle snow? When I called to cancel service they tried to charge me $75 to pick up my trash can - I got this taken off by waiting on hold a long time and insisting on a manager. They refused to credit me for skipping my service day which I just ate because I wanted to move on. I called the competitor that I saw in the area and I was floored to find out that the competitor was going to charge me $19 a month for weekly trash and recycling service. Waste Management was charging me $75 a month for trash service only and told me they could not provide recycling service in the Brighton area. The competitor also told me that if/when I cancel service they just pick up my trash cans - no $75 charge - they were laughing that the other company tried to charge me this fee. I am a busy person and I rarely leave reviews so I feel pretty passionate if I made the effort to write this. Do yourself a favor, and save a bundle of money, and do NOT use Waste Management!

They did excellent work, fixing the problem which I had caused, and also a couple other issues with the machine. They were also helpful over the phone when I was confused about some aspects of the new system that I was not familiar with. Next time I want a new box, I will have them put it together for me in the first place, rather than finding someplace online.
