I would say this was the WORST nail experience I have EVER had. It took two and a half hours to get these results. My nail was split in half and bleeding because my technician was so rough and careless and acrylic was just thrown over it. My cuticles were cut so many times. Nail polish, glue, and acrylic are left all over my hands and under my nails. My technician seemed like she had zero clue what she was doing and was very disorganized and rushed even though it took WAY LONGER THAN IT SHOULD HAVE. My nail beds are in so much pain and I am very unhappy with my results as the shape is different on and under each nail, they are crooked and uneven, and the edges are broken. I have been to this place a few times and have never had an issue, but I doubt I will be going back after this. I honestly just think you're better off finding somewhere else to go. Absolutely disgusting experience from start to finish. The place reeks, looks filthy, and feels like the exact opposite of sanitary. The staff couldn't care less about being welcoming. When I sat down for my pedicure, the older woman put on gloves that were clearly USED--still had purple polish on them! The nail file was so worn down I don't even want to imagine how many other people's feet it's touched. All her tools were just thrown in a dirty basket, no sign of sterilization. The towels? Beyond gross. The one under my feet was stained with polish, full of holes, and felt stiff and crunchy. The leg "massage" was a joke--just someone half-heartedly smearing lotion. And the worst part? When she pulled a towel from the heater, the smell nearly made me gag--it was SOUR. The only good thing? It was over fast and they had a nail color I liked. So I first went in to get a gel fill. They were able to take me in 30 mins earlier than my original appointment which was nice. Instead of a gel fill though, I got dipped nails. At first I was annoyed because it's not what I asked for. However, they turned out wonderful! The lady was nice enough to say that if I didn't like them that next time we can do gel. Not sure if it was planned for me to get them dipped in the first place.. But she did an amazing job and they are very lightweight compared to gel! definitely worth trying out. I drive by Padela Nail Design nearly everyday and today was my first time as a customer. I've been struggling to find a nail salon that I like and is priced decently. I'm glad I've finally found one! They've implemented several measures to ensure everyone's health and safety. Upon entering, an attendant immediately takes your temperature. It startled me at first at how quick she approached me with the thermometer to my head. You may not get a warning before she approaches just an FYI lol. You're then directed to wash your hands immediately. They also have plexiglass at each manicure station with an open seat in between each station. I got a gel mani and a deluxe pedicure with regular nail polish. The deluxe pedi was exactly what I needed after being isolated for three months. Ivy, the nail stylist who worked with me, did a lovely job of making me feel relaxed and she was very attentive. She checked in regularly to ensure the water, wax, and everything else was to my satisfaction. She also gave a very thorough massage and I nearly fell asleep. My mani also came out spectacular. I was concerned after looking through so many yelp photos (with positive responses might I add) where the application of gel or nail polish was way too thick. Perhaps some people don't mind, but I definitely do. I was scared that my nails would turn out like the others I saw but Ivy has been in this salon for 10 years so she definitely has mastered the application technique. I was extremely happy with the results and her overall customer service. I definitely plan on being a loyal customer of Ivy's! read more

Prepare to be up sold. Nothing particularly noteworthy except they use liners in the pedicure bowls which feel more clean. They also use an e-file. The work itself (a signature pedicure) wasn't noteworthy either way. Also was uncomfortable that none of the employees' masks were covering their noses. This was my favorite nail salon. I have been going here with my parents for the last four years. Unfortunately though, I have decided not to go here anymore. Ever since the owner David has been gone, this place has gone downhill in quality. I got my gel nails done yesterday and they chipped within 3 hours of having them. I was disappointed that the nail technician didn't soak the polish off my nails. Instead, she applied the acetone for seconds and drilled off the old gel polish, leaving my nail thin and brittle. I have also received the same treatment the last two times I have went here. I used to be able to have healthy nails and cool designs when going to this salon. However, now the technicians seem to not care anymore. I will also add that I called the salon after they chipped and they were nice and offered to fix the nail for free but unfortunately the salon was too far for me. read more

This place has gone downhill. I used to go here all the time, and always had a great experience. I decided to treat my daughter to a mani/pedi. She said they were rough with her feet, cutting her cuticle, she's 11! She wanted a specific combo of different colors on her hands and they messed up the sequence, so it looked weird and I didn't notice until we were paying. As for myself, they cut me twice made me bleed, were also very rough (not really paying attention) and the paint was not put on smoothly. There were bare spots & bumps & I didn't have time for them to redo the entire thing. They didn't discount me for making me bleed. Their response was: bummer, it happens, pay us the full amount. I was mostly happy with the treatment, but the tech felt rushed and both visits, she cut too deep on my cuticle on my finger and caused me to bleed. I went to go get my baby shower nails done here. I grew out my nails that were long (1 nail broke so there was 1 "shorter" nail" starting off he asked if I wanted them shorter I said "no keep them long please" seconds later he goes and clips off all my nails making them short. I gave the benefit of the doubt and let it go. Next he asked the shape, I showed him my other hand and said "just like this, almond/round" and he goes and makes my nails square/coffin shaped. I then showed him again what shape I would like and he did not understand and had to bring over another nail tech so I could tell them. After that due to the shape not being correct my nails got shorter due to so much filing. After that he started doing my cuticles and made every fingers bleed (6 out of my 10 fingers have scabs on them) he also cut my skin on the side of my nails which I now have a small opening and it is getting infected. My gel polish is all lumpy and bumpy. Not smooth at all. And the part of my French tip is all lopsided and not all of the French tip goes to the end of my nail meaning you can still see the under color. After leaving and looking more at my nails I also realized 2 of my nails were chipped meaning they were not filed correctly and I had to go back home and file them so they would not crack/break. I was very disappointed and upset as now my fingers hurt from the irritation I have from him cutting my skin and my nails do not look good at all. I will not be going back. read more

My first time at Padela was alright, the color on my nails didn't match the color I picked out but it wasn't very different so I didn't fuss. Both times I have been here many employees had masks under noses and even had them off entirely on breaks around customers. Super crowded, did not make me feel Covid safe at all. The owner I assume was very rude and hot headed when I told him the color on my nails didn't match what I picked out. The color I picked was the holographic shimmering opalescent color on the right, I got rose gold sparkle clear nails instead. The least the owner could've done is apologized, he did not and proceeded to fight with me. UPDATE YOUR DIP DISPLAY ITS NOT CORRECT! I came to Padela on a friend's recommendation but after several years, decided not to go back. Their pedicures were fine but I felt rushed and crowded --too many stations in a small space and an assembly-line atmosphere, with TVs on Fox News and people yelling across the room. I'm OK with techs using a microplane on my feet but the last tech used a regular cheese grater -- the kind with large, dull holes. That was it for me. I have also reviewed the salon I switched to, directly across Wadsworth that I am much happier with, both for atmosphere and quality of the work. read more

Padella has always been my go to nail place. I took my daughter for her first Pedi Mani. Normally this place is awesome and I've always had a perfect outcome. Absolutely not the case for today. Reasons: -before I walked out the door, polish was chipping. -She forgot to put two coats on just one finger (she got distracted and was talking to the tech next to us). -She clipped my cuticle and made me bleed on my toe AND finger. The result looks like I did it myself in the dark. -The coats applied are blotchy and you can see through in some parts. -The colors my daughter requested were not put on properly (didn't notice until it was too late). I showed the cashier all of this and she didn't seem to care. Was supposed to be a great experience for my daughter/I but I left almost in tears. Will probably not be back to Padella for quite a while and if I do I will make sure I don't get the same tech. Waste of $130!! read more

Bummer I won't be coming here again. I had been here a few times before in between when I couldn't get in to get my reg nail place. So the last time I went here they charged me $50.00 for a full set, no polish, just a reg basic full set! I was like what? The prices are clearly printed so I can not believe they did that! I really tired to do some research and this place had the best reviews for what was closest to me, and I left very disappointed. I do get that because I am a licensed nail technician that I have higher standards than most. But when the most basic sanitary standards are missed, I have an issue. I would have given one star but my nails ended up looking better than I was expecting. I got a basic pedicure and a gel manicure. One of my BIG issues is when a place uses CHEESE GRATERS on peoples feet to get the calluses off. I get that this is a fast way, but you aren't supposed to CUT off people's calluses. You are supposed to SLUFF them off with a PUMICE STONE. The rest of the pedicure was just meh, the polish looks decent and the massage was so-so. The manicure is where I ran into more issues. I had watched my technician finish with another client and then immediately take me next. No sanitizing the manicure station in between. That's a big no no. You are also supposed to use a large towel that covers the work area entirely, like a dish towel. She was using a small face towel. The towel is there for comfort and for sanitary reasons. While she was clipping my cuticle, she nipped my pinky and immediately used NAIL GLUE on my cut. This is so unsanitary that I almost walked out. When she was done with the nipper, she just wiped it off with the face towel and put it back in he drawer- not sanitized. She did as I asked and the manicure looks pretty good. I do have a fair amount of gel on my skin, but that will come off. Her massage was barely anything and was MAYBE one minute on each hand. I felt like I was rushed in and out and that they didn't care. I most definitely won't be going back or recommending this place to anyone. UPDATE: My manicure has started to come off, the glitter nails both started to lift on Monday, two days after they were done. I'm changing my star rating to one star because I had originally liked my results, and now they aren't even staying on. read more

This used to be my go-to nail salon, but the service has been getting worse and worse for the past few months. Today, I called ahead to be sure I could get in promptly and was told, no problem. But when I arrived and saw three other customers waiting I knew I was in trouble. They did what they always do and quickly ushered me to a pedicure chair, but after waiting in the chair for 15 minutes I gave up and left. The time before this I made an appointment in advance for my daughter and I, but again waited over 15 minutes before anyone was able to see us. If they don't have the ability to provide service to customers just say so. But please don't confirm appointments and please don't say you have availability if you don't. Currently at Magic Lash and Nails on Indiana. I called ahead and they said they were able to see me immediately. Within 2 minutes of walking in my pedicure was started. This is the picture I showed my nail artist when I came in. I got a pedicure and it was great. But my nails look very "bubbly" or "thick". I asked my nail artist when she first applied the pink if the pink would fade because I wanted a more tan color and she said yes. But after she finished it was still a bright baby pink. Sadly I did not want to stay an extra two hours to get them re done, but I'll have to have them taken off and redone eventually :( maybe I'll try another artist next time. I have been a customer since they opened. I have loved them up until my last 2 pedicures. I always get a deluxe pedicure and the last two times have been subpar. They have raise prices which I can understand, but the quality has gone way down. Rushed, polish not covering entire nail, Rushed being start to finish 11 minutes for the deluxe! and sadly I was the only customer there on a Sunday in the middle of the day. I have been going to Padela for over 10 years. I know everyone by name and everyone has watched my children grow up from babies. Ever since the new owner took over, the service has been horrible. My usual techs have maintained their amazing service and skills, but most of the new staff rush me through my rebases and don't listen to what I want. I was kept waiting while customers who came in after me, without appointments, went ahead. When I went today, the tech didn't even speak to me, while she burned my nails consistently while filing. I came in with a photo of what I wanted and the end result was nothing like it. When I mentioned it to her, she was very rude and proceeded to file away most of the powder to make it look even worse, then she stormed off leaving me at her station. I could hear her talking to the owner and saying ombré loudly over and over and laughing which was what I had wanted. She didn't come back to her station, and when the owner came over I showed him the phone and he said it was obviously a misunderstanding. Then I was usher to the waiting chairs and told I'd have to wait 15-20 minutes for someone to fix them. No thank you. If you get the right tech, your golden, just as long as you don't have to interact with the owner. Thank you T and Ivy. I could always could on both of you for a smile and a laugh. read more

i've been torn on whether to say anything about my recent experiences at padela, but talking to a friend who had a similar experience made up my mind. TLDR: make sure they communicate the cost of your services i've been going to padela for nearly a year and felt they did a great job. in mid april, i went in for an acrylic rebase and pedicure. my usual technician was out on a well-deserved vacation. the technician in her place was polite and kind, but did a pretty awful job on my rebase. it was super thick, but i didn't complain because this person was a one-time thing for me. the pedicure was also problematic; the technician didn't do the scraping heel treatment that is part of the deluxe pedicure, so i ended up having to go back to the pedicure chair mid-manicure for her to do the part she skipped. again, whatever, my tech would be back soon. when i went in the next time, 20 days later, my technician was back - hooray! i value the work that she does. it quickly became clear though that she was frustrated with the quality of my pedicure, showing me repeatedly how much skin was coming off. i explained that my last treatment three weeks earlier at padela was when she was gone. we then head to nails, and again it's very clear she's frustrated with how my nails look. she comments on how thick they are and without explaining what she was doing or why, she completely removes my acrylic. during this time, one of the owners, kelly, i believe, comes over and speaks to my technician. they have me show them from my appointment confirmations when i was last in. the manicure continues, the frustration from my technician clear, and seeing this, i go ahead and tip $25 for my two services at this time. i honestly just felt bad for my tech personally that correcting her coworkers prior fill was irritating. we finish up and i head to check out, and kelly lets me know that my services come to $105. i was very surprised as a rebase is $35 (never more than $40) and the pedicure is $45. how we get from $80 to $105 is a mystery. i question the total, and kelly informs me that it is because i waited over two weeks between fills. i have a full time job and a young child; sorry i can't get my nails done as frequently as you (or i, they're my hands) would like, but i'm not signed up for some nail subscription service here. i remained polite, again questioning why the cost was so much, and kelly informed me that there was nothing she could do. the technician had to redo the acrylic on my natural nails and therefore i owed $60 for a $35 service. never once when kelly or my technician were with me did they mention this change in cost, and kelly was completely dismissive of the fact that the reason this extra work was required was to correct the crummy job that someone else at her business had done. i informed kelly that this experience would likely change my relationship with padela nails, where i have gone for nearly a year and spent $400 on gift certificates for my child's caregivers at christmas, but she simply did not care. i left feeling taken advantage of and disappointed that this is how i would be treated. i spoke with a friend who had originally recommended padela, and she said that her daughter recently had a similar experience where padela charged her $95 for what is usually a $60 service. she suspected it was because her daughter was a teenager and was being taken advantage of. i walked back into padela a couple days after my service and took the attached photo, where you can see that they've made some updates to the pricing. there is also a sign out front saying that due to inflation they are raising prices. i'm a reasonable person and understand the challenges of running a business in these economic conditions, but it wouldn't be difficult to just communicate to your customers during their service if you are performing services outside of what they asked for. overall a really disappointing experience with a salon that is better than this, but if the owner treats customers this way, maybe they aren't. read more
