Paddy O's is the OG Cards game staple since it's been around for a longgggg time. I came here after a game and it's exactly as I remember it. Super open with loud music, quick bar staff, and lots of places to stand around with a group. We made our way into the patio and there really weren't a ton of tables out, so we found ourselves around the perimeter of the patio fence. They also have seating on the turf area. Stopped by around the 8th inning of the Cardinals baseball game. Place was mostly empty at that point. Bartender was friendly and informed me that only pizzas were being served postgame. We ordered a margarita, a Jack/coke, and a sausage pizza. Margarita was large and served full in a 16ounce plastic cup. Good quality. Jack and coke was on the weak/too sweet side and was cut with water in a smaller 6 ounce cup. Just ok. The pizza was a 4/10. If you are coming from the game and had a few drinks and you like frozen pizza, then you'll be fine with the $5 pizza. ($5 pizza offered postgame Sun thru Thursday) Place has a smaller bar area, a larger open air bar, a large outdoor area with games and a rooftop bar area. Wish we could have tried some of the apps/burgers. Situated next to the park it is convenient and expansive. It filled up a bit quick when the game ended. What a great place to watch the game and have some great food. I've always heard of this place being the "party" place to go to if you want to do just that. Well, we came here in a Sunday during COVID, so the crowd was very light. We sat at the bar and had a couple drinks and thought we should try out the menu. We had the chili and a chef salad and I was floored! I really hope their food menu doesn't go unnoticed by everything else. 3.5 Stars. If a batter was standing at home plate and hit a foul ball over Busch Stadium, it could fly over Interstate 64 then onto the roof top patio deck of Paddy O's. It is that close to Busch Stadium. Years prior to Ballpark Village, Paddy O's has been a Cardinals Nation hangout since 1998. They promote themselves as St. Louis' Oldest Sports Bar. Paddy O's is located south of Busch Stadium. It is one of the few downtown restaurants that is south of Interstate 64. By ways of 8th Street it is a short walk under an elevated Interstate 64 then along a sidewalk on the northern periphery of a parking lot. Speaking of a parking lot, this is a popular Busch Stadium parking lot. There are approximately 100 surface level parking spots. Parking is complimentary when the Cardinals are away. On the days that the Cardinals play up the street, they charge to park three hours before the first pitch. The neat thing is that if you show your receipt, they will reward you with a free drink. Considering that their menu offers 40 different varieties of beer this is a good spot for a Cardinals inspired drink. This is also a good spot for pre-Cardinals grub. Before the last Cardinals game we attended we did just that. Good grub wasn't always the case here. It was last year (2017) when Paddy O's made the decision to go bat for bat against the newer eateries in Ballpark Village. Instead of striking out, they were going for the home run. And their home run hitter is a culinary chef named CJ Baerman. He is known as the BBQ Madman. When you marry two St. Louis icons: the Cardinals and BBQ, you have an establishment worth visiting. The BBQ Madman extended the typical bar food menu into an expanded St. Louis BBQ menu. It includes: ribs by the bone, two kinds of signature pork sausage, homemade pulled pork egg roll, four different sliders, half a smoked chicken, pair of tacos stuffed several different ways, & Jasmine rice bowl topped with smoked tri-tip The food is reasonably priced. It is quality. While the Cardinals next store are practicing for a winning game, The BBQ Madman and/or his crew get to Paddy O's every morning around 6 to start the smokers. And while the Cardinals are hibernating, the BBQ is on top of his game approximately 365 days a year. When the baseball stadium goes dark, the lights stay on at Paddy O's. It was not the smokers that I noticed when I walked into a building that would be at home in a college town. The first thing I noticed was the large room with a bar. In contrast to a few hours later when the Cardinals were live, it was sparsely populated on a weekday afternoon. We made our way into the adjoining room at the left. The Cardinals memorbelia created a cool spot for a pre-Cardinals grub. Our table overlooked a giant black Cardinal perched on a baseball bat. The St. Louis Cardinals certainly created a sense of place. If I was more adventurous I could of explored the basement level and the upper semi-enclosed rooftop patio. Instead I chose to explore the menu. The menu was mainly one page. It included the food that the BBQ Madman and his crew create in the kitchen. I ordered the Tri-Philly Cheesesteak at $7 and crispy seasoned fries at $2. Being attentive to detail, I observed that they serve Red Gold Ketchup in lieu of the standard Heinz or Hunts. With the food, I ordered a Coke. The Tri-Philly and seasoned fries overall were good yet nothing spectacular. If this was a St. Louis Cardinals hit, it would be a third base hit instead of a Grand Slam. Ditto for the service. read more

Security told me I was not allowed in as a gay man with a bag but that my heterosexual female friend was allowed in because her bag was considered a purse. I told them they could check my small bag and they declined stating it was against their policy. When I stated I felt like this was discriminatory, the bouncer laughed at me and told me to leave. None of their staff would tell us their names and continued to laugh in our faces. I left in tears and felt extremely uncomfortable in this space. I just wanted to have a fun night out with my friends, but that experience was denied. Would love to talk to the business owner about ways in which they are policing their guests. I read several reviews regarding new belt loop policy and now men cannot wear bags? It seems as if they want a very specific cliental at this establishment and are not prioritizing diversity and inclusivity. I have been to Paddy O's several times before and after Cardinals games. What a fun place with great food and drinks! They are conveniently located right next to Busch Stadium and they have a huge space with plenty of seating. They have a huge inside with many tables or areas to stand along with an area near the front reserved for dining only. There is also a large, covered patio that is upstairs with a full bar and food. They also have an outdoor patio on the main floor with bags game. I like coming here before games because they are so close to the stadium and have reasonably priced and delicious food. There are several varieties of sliders for $3. My favorite is the turkey with aioli, which is so tender and flavorful. Paddy O's also has tacos, ribs sold individually vs. a whole rack, loaded nachos, burgers and much, much more. In addition to the food, they have an expansive drink selection. Many choices of beer in cans or on draft and full bar for mixed drinks. Service is friendly and when you dine in they check in on your table frequently. After games, they have a DJ that plays some great dance music where people hang out to dance, listen to music or have a few drinks. Great place to hang out while you wait for the stadium crowd to clear out. Paddy O's is a perfect stop before or after baseball games, but I would also consider coming here for lunch or dinner due to the food or great patio on a nice weather day! read more

Ok, I agree the venue facilities are huge, great and in some ways preferable to Balllark Village. My gripe is the passion of service and love in the food. Nice servers, not rude but not fun, no enthusiasm, nothing to enhance the ballgame experience. Burger is tiny, bread not fresh. Fries are from frozen which was ok. Nachos just same as in the stadium. My boyfriend was in a wedding at this venue last night and everything was going great until the end of the night. We went to go find our backpack before leaving and our chairs were gone. All of other wedding party's items were put on the table, but our small backpack was nowhere to be found. We asked multiple staff members who were putting chairs away if they have seen this backpack and all of them said no. We are convinced an employee stole this backpack because all other guests' items weren't missing. There were very important sentimental items in that bag that cannot be bought again. Came for the Holiday POP-Up Christmas Bar. So happy we did the general admission and not spend $50 plus on this as it was literally dead with 4 tables and they said this was the busiest it had been. They had about 12 drink options that were Christmas drinks and you could not order off the regular drink menu. The waitress told us that 4 of the drinks were not good so I tried the margarita and it was terrible. I couldn't order another drink because it was so bad. read more

As season ticket holders, we go to Paddy O's after every game we attend, and I have been going here for years after games. I prefer it over Ballpark because I love the music the DJ plays, so we had planned on going here for our bachelorette/bachelor party. The last couple of times we've gone, the music has started changing to more techno. Last night, we had over 60 people show up to celebrate with us. We made requests to the DJ to play music that we wanted to dance to (typical dance music they've played in the past). We were told maybe later. I asked him if he could play another dance song. He told me he would not be playing any popular dance music because he was creating a vibe. His vibe consisted of NO one on the dance floor. Considering we made up over half the attendance at the bar, he could have at least played some of our requests. Super disappointed! We will be looking for a new place to dance after Cardinal games. If you're looking for a techno club, then you would enjoy it, but not our "vibe!" read more

My friend was thrown out due to missing the trash can when throwing his can away after it bounced off the rim of the trash can and it was only our first drink of the night. The security staff is on an ultimate power trip and obviously looking for trouble, they immediately throw him out the door and gang up on him, they start arguing and getting physical with him for missing a trash can. Bud Light 12 oz cans were out dated by a month on can. Which meant it was made 6 months prior to the freshness date on bottom of can. Had off terrible taste and bar tender could care less. Our order came out in a timely fashion and the food is reasonable and soooooooo DELICIOUS!!!!! RIBS ARE THE NUMBER ONE FOR ME, SO MEATY AND TENDER!!! I've been back two more times since then just for the ribs. We also had corn, fries, chips& queso, dry rub wings, hotdog, tacos (didn't like the tacos) bratwurst, cheeseburger and coleslaw were VERY GOOD!!! Maybe we got here at the wrong time but there was nothing great about this place. The food was fine but nothing special.

I used to love this place. Would always come here with my friends for a night out on Friday and Saturday nights and we always had a blast. The staff however seemed to be getting much worse every time we went. For example, I had a bartender laugh in my face and not take my drink order when all I was doing was waiting in line to order a drink. The last time we went however was by far the worst. Everything started out fine and normal until my keys were lost, which is 100% not the staff's fault. I noticed they were gone as soon as we got into our Uber and ran out and started looking around. Paddy O's had closed at this point as it was around 3am. I started sobbing and asked one of the bouncers if he collins help me out. He was very helpful and told me keys were found all the time and that I shouldn't worry too much. He told me to come back at 9am when the openers got there to see if any keys were turned it or look around if they had not been. Me and my friend show up at 9am and I go up to the door. A staff member comes to unlock it and goes "what?" I explained the situation. He told me "I have no clue who told you to come here at 9am. Clearly they didn't know what they were talking about. I literally just got here." I guess he could see I was upset so he took my name and number. My friend then went in and he told her "well i can't make them appear out of thin air" All we were asking to do was look around, not for him to pull a Houdini magic trick and someone make my keys appear. Staff was very rude to two young girls who were clearly in distress. Come the next day, I find out my keys were actually stolen here, so be on the lookout for that too. read more

We attended a Cardinals game on Monday, April 17, 2023, and decided to stop at Patty O's for a smash burger before the game. The burger was great but the waitress on the main floor was not. According to the guy who brought our burgers, she put down the wrong table number and our food was given to the other table. We asked for our bill before our food arrived so we could pay and get to the game as soon as we finished. After paying our bill at the bar, our waitress SLAPPED our table VERY LOUDLY and said, "Thanks for the tip!" . We had not paid the tip yet, because we planned to leave it on the table after we ate. When we handed her our tip as we left for the game, I said to her, "Don't assume people aren't tipping at the table." She 'snarkedly' held her ear and said, "I can't hear you". I doubt we will be back during this baseball season, and we are season ticket holders. It's a shame! Burgers are great! read more
