We were looking for a quick spot before the Savannah Bananas and although we drive by here all the time, we had never been, so we decided to give it a try. Someone had handed us a coupon for two beers and they took it without skipping a beat. We ended up staying for another one and a round of shots with the bartender. Service was great, prices were fantastic for the area. This is a college like bar, which is what you would expect in the area - the essential liquor options, some good beers on tap, and you're good to go. Kilroy's is kind of like a biker bar without the bikers. It's one of several bar options near the St. Louis Cardinals-Busch Stadium. Decked out in a motorcycle theme, it's a great bar to have a beer before the game, or a few after the game. It's less crowded than it's rowdy neighbors (Patty O's and Al Hrabosky's) and has a more chilled crowed. This is my favorite spot to grab a drink before a game...it's less crowded than Paddy O's, and it has a more relaxed atmosphere. You can generally find a spot at a picnic table to enjoy your 24 oz. beer, and their brats are also decent. The staff here is also extremely friendly, not rude or snobby. We were here once during a rain delay, and it was the perfect place to wait. The drinks are much cheaper than in the park anyway! read more

I've always hated going to Al Hrbowski's ir or Paddy O'Riley's Pub during or after ball games because they get so crowded, When Kilroy's moved in between the two, it was a nice relief. Now I can actually get a beer. The owner used to race motorcycles and has a few set up for display inside the bar. It kind of gives the place some street cred. I love the bar staff here. They are all very friendly and try to remember you name if you've been there a few times. That's unheard of in some of the other nearby bars. If you don't happen to have tickets, there are strategically place plasma TVs for your viewing pleasure, and Kilroy's oftentimes hires a band to play in their newly-built (in the past year or so) patio. read more

I had never visited Kilroy's until my university had an alumni gathering before the Cardinals day a few weeks ago. Discounts on drinks, while mingling as an alumni - works for me! It wasn't very crowded and its conveniently located a few yards from the stadium. There's patio, plenty of it, and lots of seating inside too. Great spot to meet people, mingle and people watch. I'm a fan now that the crowds have flocked over to the new Ballpark Village. I was nothing less than thrilled to get a 24 oz can of beer for just $6 before the game the other day. What? You're not gouging me? Okay, I get it - you've lost a lot of, uh, luster (if you can call it that) since the new place opened, still I'm just to happy to have a reasonably priced beer I just feel the need to celebrate with a Yelp. This is a great spot to meet people and have a beer before the game, though. As long as you don't expect waitress service. If there were any servers making the rounds, they didn't make it to us. Of course you can expect to hear classic rock standards - this is Cardinal Nation after all - but we were able to talk to each other pretty easily and yeah, we had a good time. Not a bad spot to stop before heading to a Baseball game. They have pretty cheap drinks and food. The patio is nice and open and there is plenty of space to spread out if you need to. Also plenty of port-a-potties. Best part was getting a 16oz PBR and that they had 24oz Bud products way cheaper than the stadium. I definitely agree with other yelpers that this place is far less crowded than compared to Paddy O's. I'll definitely stop by here again on my way to a game. read more

Stop here before AND after watching a Cardinals victory at near-by Busch Stadium. Kilroy's is just south of Busch stadium and you'll walk right by it if you park anywhere on 7th. I normally stop inside the bar and get a 16oz bottle, but if you want a 2x4 - snag one for 6 bux from the outside bar on the sidewalk. I come here when attempting to avoid the crowd at Paddy O's. This seems like a fine place to go and have beers before a game, but if you want food/ dinner before the game, find another place. We came here for a quick bite before the Cardinals game and the food choices were very limited and not good. I had the cheeseburger and it was just tough and tasteless. My boyfriend had the pork sandwhich which didn't taste good and made him feel sick for hours. He said, "it landed like a lead balloon." The thimble of potato salad tasted good to everyone. I won't be coming back here again... plenty of other places to try for food. read more

Love the openness of this bar! There is nothing like this in Chicago, so I am jealous! Roof was nice it was smoky and a bit hot and sticky the night we went so we went back down closer to some a/c. Kilroys is the only bar that I will go to before and after a cardinals game. Great prices and awesome staff. Duffy, a bartender/DJ is the man!! Phenomenal service. It was my birthday and we showed up an hour and half before they opened. The bartender, Arthur (AKA Artie) was so accommodating, he didn't care at all that they weren't even open yet and served us anyways. The drinks were great and the service was even better.
