But the nostalgia was so charming and brought me back to a place in Queens, NY in the early 2000s and a coffee shop that I used to visit during high school. Anywhooo - the vibes were fun and I got my order in right away. This is space does not rush, so do not feel like you have to go-go-go here. Just order your coffee and hang back bc when I got my coffee (The Tragedy) and my husband's (The Protagonist), that flavor was perfect. I wish I lived closer because I would love to be here daily writing and reading like I used to. HIGHLY recommend!

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the baristas. I received a compliment on the shirt I was wearing and then we placed our order. He immediately asked if Kylie would like a pup cup which she happily accepted. The layout of the space reminds me of an online library - rows of books, couches, board games, etc. they even had a kids library area which was so cute! Their menu offers more than just coffee too, which was awesome! They also have specialty lattes available. Kylie made herself at home and got tons of attention from all the sweet customers. Can't wait to go back!

The old jail cells turned into seating areas are super cool and give it a vibe you don't really get anywhere else. Coffee was not bad. Not overly experimental, but definitely reliable and enjoyable. I've been to a lot of cafés where the atmosphere outshines the drinks, and this is kind of that situation, but the quality still holds up well enough that you're not just coming here for the aesthetic. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the overall vibe is relaxed but still lively. It's a great place to work, read, or just hang out for a while. They also allow dogs! Compared to other spots I've been to, Antagonist really wins on character and atmosphere. It doesn't quite reach "destination coffee" level in terms of complexity or standout drinks, but it absolutely delivers a memorable experience. The cafe itself does not have any food other than pastries but it's connected to a board game cafe so if you want to get a quick bite, it's right next door!

The space has a unique vibe that makes you want to linger over a cup of coffee and soak it all in. The staff was friendly and attentive, and I was impressed by how quickly our food arrived. This is the kind of place that gives a neighborhood its personality. Great food, great coffee, great service, and a fantastic ambiance. If you're exploring Cherokee Street or just looking for a relaxing spot for breakfast or brunch, I highly recommend The Mud House. It's a gem in one of St. Louis' most charming neighborhoods.

It's always more being greeted with a smile and a "good morning!" The food: they have the best blueberry muffins I've had in my entire life! Seriously! If i could eat them everyday without gaining an ounce, I would. Since I can't, I've opted to try their breakfast sandwiches and as of late, their breakfast bowls. When it comes to sandwiches, my usual go-to is the California, which comes with your choice of bread(get it on the Hawaiian- TRUST ME), avocado, egg, cheddar cheese and bacon. I gave up pork a while ago, so I get mine without. As for the bowls, I sort of create my own. I get the sandwich version of the California but I add spinach. They're both so good. I've tried their soup and salad combo, which doesn't disappoint either! No matter what the day is, I've never had to wait for a long time. I certainly appreciate them being so thorough and efficient with the orders and timeliness. The place is quite large and there's ample seating, which makes a difference since we're in the post Covid era. If you're looking to try some place new, don't walk, RUN! This place is legit!

The logo, signage, and decor inside is a bit dated, but the rave reviews speak for themselves. The service here is very friendly and fast. I decided to take to go, but there are quite a few tables here and lots of breakfast and lunch options made to order or ready to go. I ordered a ham, cheese, and egg breakfast sandwich on gluten free bread, and unfortunately, I realized after I had left for takeout that they forgot the egg and hadn't toasted the bread. I ended up with a ham and cheese sandwich, which was still good but missing some key breakfast elements!
