Crispy tofu pad thai with woonsen noodles
Becky L.

Got crispy tofu pad Thai w/ woonsen noodles and Thai tea - some of the best Thai I ever had! The tofu is lightly crispy on the outside and moist and soft on the inside. Super fresh and flavorful! Looking forward to try other menu items.

One of my favorite Thai food spots in LA. I order on delivery pretty often cause it travels well and the flavor of the pad Thai is always delicious! I get a little bit of spice and it's more spicy than what I would like but it's still amazing!!

Famous Pad Thai and Pad Zee Ew

Almost didn't want to write this review in fear of this place getting too popular but this food is amazing. Hands down best Thai food I have had in a very long time. We tried the Pad Thai with crispy pork belly and Pad Zee Ew with beef...wow. Do not miss out on ordering from here. Would have posted pictures but ate it too quickly . Ordering again today so will try to get some pictures this time.

The Pad See Ew is the real deal, it's perfectly fried, utilizes tasty sauces, and the noodles are delicious. My only problem with this Thai spot are the portions, they're small for the price. My meal was provided in a tiny plastic container, it was a little underwhelming. I don't know if they mistakenly packed me a to-go container? Additionally, a soda fountain would be great, only cans/bottles are available here. If you're into a buzzy eateries inside Grand Central Market, you'll love this place. I definitely would come back for a light lunch or dinner. It's perfect for a chat or hangout. Staff are professional, but it would be nice if they were more warm. It was a Wednesday night in Los Angeles, it wasn't overly packed. I'm not quite sure why they were so stressed.

The regular menu is quite expensive with the cheapest at $17 for appetizer and salad options and most expensive at a whooping $80. The lunch menu was more affordable but still on the pricey side $21-$32 with add on options. The waitress was taking our orders and what surprised me was with my co-worker ordered the pad see ew and the waitress asked her how spicy she wants it. I was aw shocked. I'm not a Thai food expert but I do know pad see ew is a noodles dish that's offers a sweet soy sauce flavor. Never served spicy. I didn't get to try the dish but when I asked my co worker how it taste she said it was spicy and not sweet at all. I'm not sure that was an authentic pad see ew. I ordered from the lunch menu and got the tumeric chicken, with steamed vegetables and paid extra $7 to substitute for a papaya salad. I asked for #2 spice level but it was not spicy at all. Other co workers said they asked for medium but it was way too spicy. So it looks like their spicy levels are inconsistent. I'm not sure how this restaurant can justify the prices with the quality they are serving. Probably won't be back. Service was mediocre. Didn't offer to refill our waters. Parking is metered parking or paid lot.

My wife and I came for my birthday outing (she surprised me). Thai is always a "go to" and when we hit LA it's food time. The appetizer set the tone - crab wontons (ummmm - yeah I'm no food geography expert but I imagine they didn't originate in Thailand but who cares they rock!) My wife said probably the best she has ever had - crispy, creamy, actual crab sightings in the filling - loved it. Green curry - loaded with ingredients and aromatic and enticing. Eggplant, bamboo shoots lots of meat, veggies - and the curry underneath was loaded with flavor. Medium spice hit just right (I can handle Thai hot but I am taking it easy ok??) Drunken noodles - but an udon version? Let's try it - loved it! Again - plentiful meat, basil fragrance wafting to my nostrils, spicy sweet and savory blended sauce - fantastic. Verdict? Solid 5 on all hands. Service, ambience, food, value... You won't be sorry.

NOW FLASH BACK TO HERE. i to echo park only seeking dessert and my friend SHOVED ME over to this tiny cute little establishment. little did i know my upcoming flavor explosion. the sticky rice was WARM, coconutty, sweet and absolutely melted in your mouth while still holding firm, not necessarily mushy. i almost shed a tear. it was STEAMING. and the condensed milk drizzled on top went above and beyond... it was definitely coconut that added just another level of tropical warmth ugh. and those MANGOS??? The pork came with a good mix of lean meat, fatty pieces, and braised pork skin. Everything tasted fresh and tender, and the meat wasn't dry at all, which I know some reviewers have mentioned. It had a lovely sweet, aromatic braised flavor with hints of star anise. The dipping sauce was also delicious--sweet, sour, and spicy, with a strong kick of Thai chili and fresh lime. The acidity balanced the richness of the pork really well. 5/5. I also loved the coconut chicken soup. It was tangy, fragrant, and very appetizing. The chicken and mushrooms tasted really fresh, and the whole dish felt freshly cooked rather than something that had been sitting around. I ended up drinking a lot of the broth because it was so good. 5/5. The Thai tea was decent--smooth and not overly sweet, but nothing particularly memorable. 3/5. We finished pretty much everything. For two people, the total came to around $54 including tax and tip, and we were very full. Great value for the amount and quality of food.
