What a scary hotel! First off the door was missing the deadbolt and the entry lock, when locked, would open with the slightest bump. I resorted to using a chair to "secure" the door for the night (see picture). If that wasn't enough, more than 24 hours after I checked out the hotel called and accused me of stealing the TV remote and they were charging me $49 to replace it! I told them that I didn't take and that I left it on the bed as I left. I imagine one of the crackhead neighbors took it or, more likely it was a scam perpetuated by the hotel management Very disturbing place! I, and everybody I know, will avoid this place in the future!

Hair on the blanket

Where do I even begin? Our place was FILTHY! The previous guest must have had long black hair because the room was covered in it from the sheets to the comforter to the bathroom floor. The least they could have done was vacuumed?! Also the bed was TERRIBLE!!! It made noise every turn you made and it was so small! It was advertised as a Queen but I'm not too sure about that. It's the smallest Queen in history if that's the case. The water dripped all night. It is close to stores and restaurants but I would shell out the extra money and go someplace better. I definitely would not recommend. And I certainly will not be back. We were supposed to say here for 3 nights but after the first night, we checked out and checked into some place so much better!

Grocery right next store

I was thru-hiking on the PCT with my son and was thrilled they had a room available. The staff was friendly and had areas for us to use while we waited for checkin time (3:00). This included the hiker room which has a bathroom and the big "backyard" which included hammocks, barbecues, a fridge, and lots of seating - oh and a view of mount rainier! The grocery store (and liquor store) is right next door. Also next store is a pizza place (which also serves breakfast and has a beyond burger on the menu) and within the block you have a great coffee shop, an excellent brewery (closed on tues/wed) and a burger place (with a wild salmon burger option). The hotel has a small inside pool which looked clean and tidy - several people were enjoying a swim. Our room had new flooring, a comfy bed with cotton sheets, wall mounted tv, mini fridge, coffee. The bathroom was decent with shampoo and soap. The wifi worked great. Our gear was wet and there was plenty of room to stake our tent and hang our sleeping bags in the backyard area. And as always, we met other interesting and kind hikers from around the world.

Bigger of the stains in the carpet but by far not the only one.

It was an honor to be part of this historic landmark hotel which was established circa 1912. There are 9 rooms in which 5 rooms have their own private bathroom. The other 4 shared two bathroom. Each rooms are named after favorite local hiking trail. Each room are also decorated with combinations of William Morris wallpapers with dark and light hues. If you see it in person, it seems like you're time traveled from the first time it was established. They were also able to preserved some of the original wood and decorations inside this historic hotel. Alyssa one of the staffs is the most kindest and warmest person who always greeted us. Her and other staffs worked so hard together to keep the place going and cozy as much as possible. There's also a fire place that's available to use during winter. Also a complimentary coffee, tea and cider to help warm you after a chilly hike somewhere. Every where yo set your eyes in this place has a very special touch from people whose involved in this place. Glad we stayed here throughout our Juander Mt. Rainier. Best decision to book here! The creaky floor was one of the original thing here so t'was a fun bonus. Walk slowly fellow Juanderers.... Cons: Price is too steep and for the 10 days that we booked here we only got 10% discount and at the time they don't serve breakfast nor dinner. No microwave available for everyone to use, it would be nice if they put one and is available to use at any time. Would love to come back and hopefully they'll give a certain big discount next time. However, the manager was very nice and checked in on us both days to ensure we were okay. The customer service was great, my only advice is to make sure key cards work prior to leaving for the day. We tried 2 different cards to two different rooms and neither worked. Eventually, we were able to get into our room which I would say was okay. Comparable to a motel 6, the TV and smart lamps were probably the only plus to the room. The shower was very weird and it was hard to get the hot water to actually stay on, so you kind of had to shower quick. Plus since we're so close to the mountains, it was so cold in the room just because of air getting through cracks, but it was so hard to regulate and keep it at a comfortable temperature in the room. Overall, if we return, we more than likely will try out their cabin.

There was a microwave and nice fridge which was useful since there was no breakfast at the hotel. They could have put in some extra hooks in the bathroom. There was nothing to hang a hand towel on. There was a faint sewage smell in the bathroom which was off -putting. The rest was all good. We reached a couple hours before check in time but they gave us a room right away. We got room number 1 which is right by the busy road. That might be annoying to some people but it didn't bother us. It was nice to have a big open ground right out our front door. Five minute drive from the hotel, there are a bunch of restaurants and a couple grocery stores and gas stations. Drive to the Stevens canyon entrance of the park is 45 minutes. So, convenient stop if you have to stay outside the park.

Breakfast area in lobby with some seating. WIFI My family is in eastern Washington, so when I moved to the far west corner of western Washington, the trip got a little too long. We chose the Mountain View Lodge the first time we made the big trip, because of the good price, and return over and over again because of the great accommodations. Every time we stay we have a comfortable room, nice breakfast and we can get out and get on the road quickly and easily. We have arrived very, very late on some occasions, and the owners are there, friendly and ready to get us checked in. Last time I stayed they had a small fridge in the room, which was new from the previous stay. One time my TV was missing the remote (I noticed right when I walked in) and they moved me to the next room over. I am an extremely light sleeper, but the motels on the highway location has never bothered me. The highway isn't very busy, especially at night. I have come here alone (I'm female) and with my husband. I have always felt very safe. I have recommended this motel to my family, who now stays there each time they make the trip to our side of the mountains. They have had nothing but positive experiences as well. I believe they also have little cabins behind the motel with kitchens. We might book one this summer for a family gathering.

A magical, soul-soothing escape…read more I can't say enough good things about my stay at Wellspring Spa. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I'd stepped into a hidden forest sanctuary. The land itself is breathtaking--towering trees, soft mossy trails, and peaceful stillness that invites you to breathe deeper and slow down. I spent hours wandering the hiking paths and felt like I was in another world. I stayed in the Tahoma cabin, and wow--it was cozy, peaceful, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. (They must have updated them based on what I have read from previous posts!) Every detail in the space felt intentional and grounding. After a day of exploring, soaking in the outdoor hot tub with that stunning view of the trees was exactly what my body and mind needed. And the lofted sauna? Absolutely the coolest (and warmest!) little gem--such a unique and relaxing experience. What really made this place special, though, was the warmth and kindness of the staff. They were so welcoming, thoughtful, and genuinely cared about creating a healing experience for guests. Also: there's a sweet dog who wanders the grounds and melts your heart--truly the cherry on top. Wellspring isn't just a place to stay--it's a place to remember. I already can't wait to come back.

On the day of checkout we asked if we could have an hour late checkout of 12 PM and they shot us down very quickly saying they had to clean the rooms. However, when I looked online it showed that they had many available rooms for that night, including ones just like ours. The rest of the family had the Beecher Mac and Cheese (do not recommend) and the burger (recommend). Service was great and it was a nice to sit down for a meal. Dinner - Enjoyed Burrata and Tomato, which was more like caprese than what 8' used to for burrata. The short rib (off menu, sub for being out of pork shank) was very good. Too much sauce, but if you remove it from the sauce, it's very good. Son had the prime rib, which was good, but a little on the cool side - wish it was warmer. 3 stars for the Inn Parking: Upon arrival, we faced the most challenging crowds and the inn does not have parking for their guests. You are stuck fighting traffic with the masses, which means you might be parking in overflow and moving your car when the crowds die down at night. Amenities: The crowds don't end there. The Inn is flooded with visitors, making amenities unenjoyable (or available) for guests. Room: The room came with a standing fan to use with windows open for AC. There appeared to be AC in the room, but the temperature only went up. The beds were comfortable and we had a private bath, so that was a plus (some rooms share baths). Despite the cost and crowds, it is worth the stay to have early access to the trails and a parking spot, once you find one, for the duration of your trip.

The food was a bit overpriced, which we expected, but it tasted pretty good. The small cafe was great for grab-and-go items and coffee, but it was quite understaffed, leading to long wait times. On the positive side, our room was very clean, and the lobby area was cozy with plenty of seating for guests to relax.
