Packwood Inn is fabulous! The front desk ladies are remarkably professional, kind, and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean, and far more comfortable and updated than you'd expect for the price point. The carpeting is a little aged, but that is my sole complaint (as someone with high standards for cleanliness). And the location is great! Packwood is quite charming, and though it is small, its local eateries are reasonably priced and delicious. We particularly enjoyed breakfast at Mountain Goat Coffee, just a short walk away! read more

I had a nice stay here at Packwood Inn while visiting Mount Rainier National Park. The city of Packwood is located southeast of the park and is a short drive from the Stevens Canyon entrance. You get nice views of Mount Rainier just outside your door at this hotel. I was able to walk to many of the restaurants and shops in the downtown Packwood area. The room and bed were nice and comfortable. There is an indoor pool that I was able to enjoy late at night when everyone was asleep. Overall everything was good for the price that I paid. There were some issues in getting me a key that would open my door. I had to make a few trips back in forth to the front desk to finally get one that works read more

I don't recommend staying at this inn unless it's your last resort! There is no water in their pool and no common area to relax or cook as advertised. There are no hammocks. The pool lounge area and BBQ deck behind the inn are not maintained and there's old fridges and other junk. The rooms were not ready by check in time and some rooms are by large garbage dumpsters. There was construction going on right below our room. They lie on their website and they lie to your face. When I requested another room I was told they couldn't give me another room. I requested a refund from Expedia and the Inn refused saying I could have asked for another room. OMG!! read more

Our room was not cleaned, while waiting for them to clean up our room, they told me there's an indoor pool, the weather was 90+, I was excited to tryout the pool, omg it's dirty and no ventilation, and hot like a sauna room. I paid $142 for such a low grade room. I should have booked other places nearby. read more

Packwood Inn - Indoor pool is dirty and hot like sauna. Room wasn't clean and I can't even want to take photos of the room - Hotels Near Me - Packwood, Washington

I don't think this is the worst place I've ever stayed, but it leaves a lot to be desired. The rooms aren't the cleanest. They have no ice which sucks after a long day of hiking. They don't give you hand soap. When we asked for some, they offered us lotion. Apparently they don't understand that lotion and soap serve two completely different purposes. The bed is very uncomfortable. And on top of the fact that it isn't nice, it isn't cheap either. You'll pay the same price as a 3+ star hotel for worse than 2 star quality. I'm not sure that there are good places to stay in Packwood since they have a captured market in a small tourist town, but I'd try to find somewhere else. read more

Hands-down the worst motel that I have ever stayed in and I travel 15 times a year. The rooms are cold and moldy and reek of stale cigarettes. It has the security and feel of a meth-motel. Front desk was friendly but could not find me an adequate room after 4 tries. I ended up checking into another motel down the road. And they refused me a refund. read more

I would give a 0 if I could. Asked about fireworks before booking as we were trying to avoid. Was told there were none. When we got there was told just not in the parking lot. Ac didn't work in our room or anyone else's we spoke to. Not a fan to be had. Felt lied to and taken advantage of. Will NEVER stay there again. Even the front sign lies stating air conditioned rooms. It was high 80s and the room was probably warmer than that. Avoid at all costs. read more

Perfect location, walking distance to everything in downtown Packwood. Friendly and welcoming staff and environment, feels very safe. Rooms are clean and well cared for and are constantly being upgraded. Amazing pillowtop beds, and of course a great price. Highly recommend it. read more

What a scary hotel! First off the door was missing the deadbolt and the entry lock, when locked, would open with the slightest bump. I resorted to using a chair to "secure" the door for the night (see picture). If that wasn't enough, more than 24 hours after I checked out the hotel called and accused me of stealing the TV remote and they were charging me $49 to replace it! I told them that I didn't take and that I left it on the bed as I left. I imagine one of the crackhead neighbors took it or, more likely it was a scam perpetuated by the hotel management Very disturbing place! I, and everybody I know, will avoid this place in the future! read more

Stayed a few days during the recent fire (when few rooms were available in town). 1-star at very best. Flies in the room. Carpet was horribly dirty. TV was leaned against the wall on the desk/dresser (instead of mounted to the wall where the wires were. (And the channel selection was awful.) Toilet liked to run on it own (unless fiddled with). Best be a sound sleeper with the sound of 18-wheelers engine braking as they drive by. And Friday and Saturday nights are enlivened by the sound of laughter and amusement from the Blue Spruce Saloon across the street. But the spongey bed mattress might make sleep a luxury. The advertised pool was also "recently broken". Best to skip this place and head on down the street. There are better options. read more

Where do I even begin? Our place was FILTHY! The previous guest must have had long black hair because the room was covered in it from the sheets to the comforter to the bathroom floor. The least they could have done was vacuumed?! Also the bed was TERRIBLE!!! It made noise every turn you made and it was so small! It was advertised as a Queen but I'm not too sure about that. It's the smallest Queen in history if that's the case. The water dripped all night. It is close to stores and restaurants but I would shell out the extra money and go someplace better. I definitely would not recommend. And I certainly will not be back. We were supposed to say here for 3 nights but after the first night, we checked out and checked into some place so much better! read more

I was thru-hiking on the PCT with my son and was thrilled they had a room available. The staff was friendly and had areas for us to use while we waited for checkin time (3:00). This included the hiker room which has a bathroom and the big "backyard" which included hammocks, barbecues, a fridge, and lots of seating - oh and a view of mount rainier! The grocery store (and liquor store) is right next door. Also next store is a pizza place (which also serves breakfast and has a beyond burger on the menu) and within the block you have a great coffee shop, an excellent brewery (closed on tues/wed) and a burger place (with a wild salmon burger option). The hotel has a small inside pool which looked clean and tidy - several people were enjoying a swim. Our room had new flooring, a comfy bed with cotton sheets, wall mounted tv, mini fridge, coffee. The bathroom was decent with shampoo and soap. The wifi worked great. Our gear was wet and there was plenty of room to stake our tent and hang our sleeping bags in the backyard area. And as always, we met other interesting and kind hikers from around the world. read more

The people who work here are nice or I would have given one star. The pool is shut down and the WiFi didn't work once during our three day trip. The Cruisers Pizzeria is terrible, service slow and the onion rings tasted like burned oil. The AC struggled to meet the unusually high temperatures and we couldn't sleep until after 1am. Understaffed like everywhere else on the mountain with no maid service unless requested. read more

I received an email the day before our stay at this place stating my reservation is canceled at Packwood Inn. I contacted Hotels.com and they said they have no reason showing why it was cancelled by them. We're on our 30 day honeymoon trip and this is the last thing we need to deal with. It seems like based on other reviews on other sites such as Hotels.com and on Yelp this is a common occurrence with them. If you book with them, be prepared to deal with this mess. You have been warned. read more

My friends and I were traveling in the area when our campsites at Mt. Rainier got canceled due to poor weather. We came to this town to get some food and noticed this inn, so we went to inquire about any vacancies. The gentleman working the front counter was incredibly kind and personable, and was able to help us out without any hesitation. His hospitality was really something else. After paying for my room, I accidentally left my ID in the front office without realizing it. The man at the front counter knocked on our door and left it for me so that I wouldn't forget it. The rooms ran a bit hot, but all in all everything about our accommodations were great! Everything was very clean and well maintained. If you are in need of a quality nights sleep, I would absolutely recommend this establishment, even if it is perhaps a tad expensive. read more

The staff was great, and when my reservation got messed up (my fault not theirs) they gave me a great rate on a room for the night. The issue I have with this place is the facility it self. The rooms are dated and the furniture is worn out. The carpet had large stains in several places and the room smelled of cigarettes even though this is a non-smoking hotel. The WiFi might as well not existed, no matter here I went I was lucky to get two bars. This could be a really nice place if some one would come show it some TLC. read more

We stayed at the Packwood Inn recently as we travelled to White Pass from Olympia. This is a modest hotel that served our purpose as a place to rest the night before skiing. The rooms were cozy and had a mini fridge with freezer and microwave. The linens were clean and the pillows were like sleeping on a cloud. This hotel is under new management and the new owners are warm and accommodating; working on making many improvements. The inn is in a perfect location right along hwy 12 directly across from the saloon and within walking distance to the local coffee shop. Ladies-bring a blow dryer if you need it. Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel for your next visit. read more

I arrived a 3am. The cost was going to be $130. I've stayed here before and it's pretty much like a Motel 6 trying to be a Holiday Inn Express. Not worth $130 on a good day, much less for eight hours.(Note to future readers: In 2017, $130 was a little pricey for an empty mediocre motel in the middle of nowhere) So, I asked if there was a discount since it was in less than eight hours that i had to be out of there. Nope. But I did get a story about how the owner is a millionaire and doesn't want to compromise standards by negotiating price. Had I not been so tired, that might have inspired a chuckle. Okay fine, I wouldn't want to sully the reputation of such an upstanding establishment. But hey, while you're unapologetically sticking it to me, can you give me an hour or two late checkout so I can get some good rest in this otherwise empty motel? The manager enjoyed refusing that request. So, I slept in my car in the parking lot in only slightly less comfort than had I dished out the money. So, today I have $130 more than I would have, Mr. Millionaire has $130 less and yet another bad review. read more

Okay the the rooms arent big and the building is old but the customer service is amazing. I come here twice a year and am always pleased with the staff and how far they go out of their way to make my stay comfortable. They even have $5 showers for hikers or people just wanting to take a shower. the rooms do have fridge, flat screen and coffee. This is my go to place when in traveling in the area. read more

Great place to stay if you want to explore White Pass, but don't want to pay $210.00 at their lodge. Friends and I paid $70.00 for a one-night stay at the Inn of Packwood and were more than pleased with our accommodations. Drive to White Pass is only 20 minutes up Highway 12. Room was neat and tidy and front desk service was polite and helpful. South side view of Mt. Rainier from the window of our room. I think we all know how oh so sexy Mt. Rainer is, so a sweet view of it from a cheap motel is the ultimate score. Pool and hot tub were out of service during our stay. Motel is under new management and are working on updates, so I applaud their efforts. Motel is located in the middle of the Packwood strip, so it is easy to grab snacks, dinner, drinks, and nightlife all within walking distance. Nice work, Inn of Packwood. read more

If the pool and spa had been working this would certainly be 5-stars. We'd made plans to spend ~$50 each for the three of us to stay overnight on our girls' getaway. BUT - every lodge was closed... then spotlight on the Inn of Packwood and their $70/night TOTAL accommodations. Adorable little motel, very, very clean, right in the middle of town and next to a great sports hut to get good gear. Camille let us check in two hours early and gave us extra blankets and pillows, plus recommended places to go and things to do while in town. Why pay more for a room you're not going to do anything other than sleep in? read more

I'm giving this place 5-stars because of its value, clean accommodations and its serving our family's needs while on a little ski vacation. Our family consisting of 2 adults and two kids 5 & 10, spent two nights here. We came to Packwood to be close to White Pass for skiing. We paid $60 per night (Sun. & Mon.) for our room w/two queen beds. The room was pretty clean, had a microwave, tv and mini-fridge. The pool was open during our stay, but the spa was not. The pool was at least spa temperature so it was the perfect way to end a long day of skiing. The inn is right in the middle of everything in Packwood so you can just park your car and walk to the various stores and eateries. In the morning, they served muffins, juice and coffee. The staff was pleasant and very accommodating. I'm so glad we stayed here and are already looking forward to our next stay! read more

The Packwood Inn exceeded our expectations. Old hotel but the new owners have replaced all the carpets and beds and strive to make their guests happy. Their kindness and generosity was exceptional. We will definitely be back. The Halsen's - May 2018 read more

We wanted lodging close to mount rainier that was decently priced and this was it. When we pulled up there were no other cars in the lot and the outside looked a bit outdated so we were worried at first. We were greeted instantly by the owners whom were beyond nice and helpful. Once inside our room we were pleasantly surprised to see it looked like it had new carpeting and bedding, seemed to be recently updated somewhat. The room was clean and had a mini-refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. At the front desk they had games we count rent and bring back to our rooms to play and even gave suggestions for local restaurants. We were also surprised to hear they had a complimentary breakfast in the morning, options included pastries and breads, cereals, coffee, hard boiled eggs, etc. This inn was definitely a good deal for our money and would recommend it to those looking to stay outside the park but within close proximity! read more

The Packwood Inn has a great location, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Our room was clean and comfortable. While we were having our complimentary continental breakfast, our hostess, Amanda, made time to help an older man whose car had broken down nearby. Her gracious behavior was impressive. We would certainly stay there again. BD Honolulu read more

Comfortable, clean and surprisingly quiet seeing that it is next to a highway.

The rooms are clean and updated. The staff is friendly and eager to help. My buddy even asked to turn up the pool heat and they immediately did so. He also had an issue with the water heater in his room. They adjusted and/or fixed it in minutes. The bed is firm and very comfortable. The sheets are a crisp heavy cotton. The fridge and microwave are a nice addition. The ownership and staff are what make this an exceptional place to stay. We will definately come back. read more

One of the worst rooms I've ever stayed in. Flies bother us most of the night. A/C shut down. Very old and run down motel. Outside and 20 ft. away were two open dumpsters. Stayed January 29th. Very nice place to stay. Very clean, quiet, and loved the way it was set up and decorated. The very best bed I we have ever slept in. RUDE manager, my WORST hotel experience We made reservation for Aug 6, 2011. At check in they want to charge us higher rate than at reservation. We argued and the manager simply threatened us, "you either pay it or we cancel your reservation, there are people waiting to get the rooms" read more

BEWARE!! This was the most disturbing hotel experience of my life. We stayed on our way to climb Mt Adams, paid $99 for a single room in the back. We had 6-10 adults coming in and out of the room below us all night + large dog. When I was getting all of the valuables out of my car I was able to peek into the room and saw what was going on. Straight out of A&E intervention. Drugs.....drinking. Gross. We watched a mom come pick up her husband with her children in the car. Would have complained but we saw the woman with a limp who was behind the desk with the other lady go into that room......No point in complaining. They smoked inside the room which leaked into ours. They were up all night. Was scared to go outside. This place was truly a hell hole. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

Stayed one night at Packwood Inn and was very pleased with the decision. The staff were very friendly and provided very good service. Absolutely best hotel we've stayed at over our many stops on the PCT. some other reviews point out small cosmetic issues but for me the great staff, soft towels, comfy bed, and prompt service greatly outweigh a small scratch on the door or small stain on the carpet (it's a hotel!!). Amanda is the best! She drove out to Kracker Barrel and picked us up and brought us to our room when we called and said we were hikers and didn't have a ride. They took our laundry and had it delivered back to our door fresh and clean in under two hours on two occasions. House keeping staff was friendly and accommodating and the front desk ladies were all smiles. Highly recommended for anyone but especially hikers as they were so accommodating to our "slightly different" needs. read more

I would give it 2.5 stars if I could. It was fine for the most part. The room was pretty clean, the bed was hard, the toilet ran all the time so I had to shut the water valve off and the mini fridge was also very noisy so I unplugged it. Oh, its non-smoking but smelled like someone didn't read that rule at some time. It was not expensive and it was pretty clean so I was okay with it. The shower has lots of hot water. The wireless internet was also very good. I would stay again based on the price and it being pretty clean. Nothing more. read more

We really liked the gal that was running the place. She did everything she could do to make our stay comfortable. However, we felt that the price might have been a little bit high for the accommodations. It starting to show it's age. However we were put in the 2-story building in the back... the front units may have been a little bit better. We got a good nights sleep, once the other tenants settled down. The a/c worked great up until the point where the knob fell off. We only had to reset the circuit breaker once. Like we said, the place is starting to show it's age. But if you are on a budget, like we are, it was a welcome stop. read more

We had the worst experience ever this past weekend at the Packwood Inn. We showed up for the packed SwapMeet weekend, to find we did not have a room, even though we had a reservation and confirmation #s. We heard every excuse in the book, from the fact that it was OUR fault to blaming it on some guy named Mike, who we were told "went to prison", even though we'd talked to him only 5 days prior. Later, a worker told us that he'd been fired, and had just "walked by the inn a few minutes ago". While we were there for an hour waiting to see if our situation could be resolved, 7 other people came in expecting to have room (with confirmation #s and sometimes printed receipts from hotel sites) only to be told they also did not have room. One lady had been staying there for 23 years and when she checked in, her room rate had gone from $109/night (what she was quoted when she booked at the end of last year's stay) to $169/night. Never have I been treated so poorly. I was called names, insulted, told to get the bleep out of their hotel (and this treatment was given to other guests also, even ones who did have rooms). I will be taking this issue up with the owner and the Better Business Bureau. read more
