Let me start by saying that if I could give Harder's 10 stars, I abosolutely would! Jonathan and…read morehis team were amazing from the start. I requested quotes via Yelp and this company was not one of the orginals that came through. The owner took the time to reach out to me and everything was smooth sailing from then on. Communication was clear, they were on time (if not early which I love!), efficient, effective, fast, took care of items and so pleasant to work with! I was combining households with another family member so we were working with having to fit my furniture into her existing home and they were able to make it work which I thought was going to be impossible! We also had some items that needed to be hauled away and when I asked if they had a referral for me, Jonathan (the owner) offered to give us a quote on those items so we could have them removed that day as well. In addition to all of the amazing service that we received, they were by far the best value without all of the crazy tacked on fees that so many movers put on a move. I cannot begin to recommend Harder's Movers enough and will continue to do so and will defintely use them in the future for moves or when we need larger items to be hauled away. Thank you so much Jonathan and Gabriel! We appreciate you!

We were on third floor so we wanted to make it as easy and as quick as possible. Upon check out we were also informed we would have to pay an extra hour for drive time to and from our location at an apartment next to Scott and White. Movers were efficient and clean but total charge was $500 more than we anticipated due to hidden fees not disclosed at booking.

Would never recommend... please take the time to review the 1 star ratings…read more I hired ChubbyFit Movers for an interstate move from TX to IL. The company packed, transported, and delivered my household goods. Unfortunately, multiple items arrived damaged after being packed by their crew. The damage was not minor cosmetic wear, but broken and unusable items consistent with improper packing and handling. Two people left mid unpack at our destination because they were told it would be a 3 hour unpack. When I submitted a formal claim with documentation and photos, the company relied on the $0.60 per pound released valuation clause rather than addressing the quality of packing and handling that caused the damage. To put that in perspective: under that formula, a 100 lb item would be covered for $60 regardless of its actual replacement cost. Their "good faith" resolution offer for documented damages was $500. I understand valuation limitations are common in the moving industry. However, customers should be aware that if you do not purchase Full Value Protection, you may receive only minimal compensation even when the mover performs the packing and damage occurs. This was pure negligence and failure to uphold their end of the contract. If you are considering this company, I strongly recommend: * Carefully reviewing valuation options * Understanding the difference between Released Value and Full Value Protection * Documenting every item at pickup and delivery * Budgeting for the higher protection option Interstate moves are expensive and stressful. Make sure you fully understand the risk allocation before signing. Overall horrible experience.

But not only about their performance but their unforgettable sweet demeanor after discovering I live on the third floor and there's no elevator. You see, these smiling faces work for NorthStar Moving Company, and we all know the employees are the one that makes the company. David and his coworker/friend could have rushed up 38 stairs to quickly unload my things because they were heavy, but nope, they took their time coming upstairs to make sure nothing got damaged. Now mind you, they could have rushed because the NorthStar guys in San Jose, Ca, wrapped my things so securely nothing could have gotten broken. And David, here in Texas, encouraged me to count my boxes as they brought them inside my place to make sure all my things had made it! Another great thing about Northstar is, it only took 7 days for my things to arrive, the pick-up was Monday from California, and the delivery date was Sunday in Houston, Texas. I have to give so much praise to Lorena, I booked this move in March, but it wasn't going to be until May. She stayed in contact with me every step of the way. I was giving stuff away in those two months, and Lorena would change my quote without any problem. Another thing Lorena did, she gave me information about a reliable car service to have my car transported to Texas, and that was quick too. My car was picked up on Friday from California and delivered on Tuesday in Houston! I will always use NorthStar, and I do have another big move coming again.

They were on time (early even), their communication was outstanding, and they expertly packed my belongings with great care. These were not college kids working a side hustle. They were PROFESSIONAL MOVERS and I see the difference now that I watched them in action. I recently used another local moving service. They forgot items, broke my tabletop, and at the end of the move, shoved an iPad in my face which prompted me to tip them 15, 20, or 25%. I had already given them $50 each and then got hit to tip them on the total cost of the move. There was NONE of that with Northstar. Four guys showed up, worked VERY HARD, and then left with no expectation of a tip. They also left my house spotless. It just felt very professional and I'm only sorry that I am moving when I just found this awesome company! Many thanks to Rob, John and the team!

Contacted 7-8 moving companies without much success - most places charged a minimum time (2-3hours, 3 employees), which would have been almost as much as we paid for the used smoker, or they wouldn't fool with a single item. That's if they responded at all, half never even bothered. All of Texas Moving called back within the hour, and apologized for not being there to take the call. Casey got the description (and pic), checked with the boss, and had a reasonable fee w/ next day service for the move, all arranged while I was on the phone. I got a call when the truck rolled out, the smoker arrived with no problem, the two workers moved it onto my back yard patio in about 5 minutes. They were all real life savers, they responded with the best quote, got the job done quickly with no drama, and made our end of it super easy!

From the communication, to the actual moving, their professionalism, everything. Which is why I immediately called them to move me this last time. However, I don't think I'll be using them again in the future. I called on Tuesday mid afternoon to schedule for the following Saturday. They told me no problem and got it set up for 12:30, Saturday afternoon on the 30th. I tell her I want to move by the hour. She tells me they have a two hour minimum I tell her that's fine, I also have a couch I need moved into the new house from the old house. She says ok, notes it, and tells me it'll be $300. Well I had taken a break to eat lunch on Friday and I get a call from one of the movers telling me he's at my gate to move me. I explained that they were supposed to be there the following day and called the office to make sure they were still coming tomorrow. She said she got her wires crossed and apologized and assured me they'd be there at 12:30 the next day. Around 11:30 on Saturday, one of the movers calls me again and says the client they're currently with has more stuff than they thought so they're going to be about 30 minutes late. No problem, that buys me more time to make sure everything is good to go. 1pm comes and goes and around 1:30 I send a text to check on the status because I haven't heard anything. He tells me they're waiting on this client to pay. 2 pm comes and goes and then so does 2:30. I text again for an update because I haven't heard anything.he's telling me they have to follow this lady to a gas station to get a money order for her to pay. I tell them that I'm not too concerned about it because they're always really good. They finally got to my house at 3pm, 2 1/2 hours late. They were pretty good and fast but I also had everything already in one room for them. They drop off the couch, we go to my storage unit. By this time it's 4:30. They tell me there's a $50 extra stop fee that no one told me about and even though it took them an hour and a half, there's still a two hour minimum. When she called to get payment, I sort of let her know I was pretty annoyed. She apologized and said that she knows it's annoying but it's not their fault they were late. It's not my fault either. Then when the movers were leaving, they wound up hitting the gate of my storage facility. They got out and looked, and then left. The owner of the facility text me about this but saw me leave ahead of them so he didn't blame me. He said he was going to call the company to discuss. So the fact that they were 2 1/2 hours late and tacked on a $50 fee that I didn't know about ahead of time, hit the gate, and all of the other things, I don't know that I'm willing to use them again. Update as of 12/16/24. I called them last week in response to their request to make it right and no one answered the phone. I left a voicemail stating my name, what I was calling about, and my number and no one called back. Unless or until they make some portion of this right, I will continue to leave this review up. What's really sad is the owner of my storage facility asked if I would recommend them to partner with so he would recommend them and they him, etc. I told him that prior to this experience I would have said yes but not after this time.
