My family and I moved from Waco TX to Thousand Oaks CA. They loaded up our furniture and boxes and completely cleared out the house in 5 hours. 4 days later we received our items in CA. The delivery went very smooth. The movers put together all of our beds , tables and the entertainment center they disassembled. I would not recommend Chubby Fit Movers based on my experience. What should have been a straightforward move turned into a frustrating and stressful ordeal. The move took two full days to complete, despite the reverse move previously being completed in about three hours by just one person and a crackhead. The timeline felt incredibly inefficient and resulted in significantly higher costs than expected. To make matters worse, several items were missing after the move. There was little accountability or urgency shown in resolving these issues, which only added to the frustration. One of the most concerning aspects of the experience was that movers were taking videos inside the home without permission. Even more troubling, the behavior came across as inappropriate and unsettling toward a 15-year-old family member. This created an uncomfortable environment during what should have been a professional service visit. The pricing was also inconsistent and seemed to fluctuate throughout the process. The final cost did not align with expectations set beforehand, making it difficult to trust the estimates that were provided. Moving is already stressful enough. Professionalism, transparency, and respect for customers' homes and families should be the minimum standard. I have friends in this area and have told all of them to not use these movers, as all they do is bother people that have said they do not want to be contacted. STOP CONTACTING ME. I WOULD GIVE THIS COMPANY NEGATIVE STARS IF I COULD. DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY. What should have been a simple move of an approximately 1,100 sq. ft. duplex from Killeen to Cedar Park turned into an absolute nightmare that lasted over TWO DAYS and more than 15 hours. I was promised three experienced, professional movers. What I got was ONE mover who actually knew what he was doing, while the other two spent more time taking breaks than moving my property. It took them from 9:30 AM until 3:30 PM just to load the truck. I finally had to call the office around noon because the job was moving so slowly that it was ridiculous. A supervisor eventually had to come out to finish the loading process. The one experienced mover had to leave because the job had already taken far longer than it should have. Then things got worse. My property disappeared for FOUR HOURS before the truck finally showed up in Cedar Park around 7:30 PM. They didn't finish unloading until approximately 10:45 PM, and at that point we finally told them to just dump the boxes in the garage because the situation had become so absurd. When they first started unloading, they were literally handing items to ME like I was part of the moving crew. Furniture was brought in upside down, and they laid my 65-inch curved TV flat on its face instead of upright or on its back. "Experienced movers" my ass. Before they even left, Matt from the company called harassing me for payment. I told him I wanted to speak with the office first regarding the horrible experience before making payment. He immediately became rude and accused me of refusing to pay. GOOD THING I DIDN'T PAY. The next morning, the owner, Travis, called asking how the move went. I gave him the full truth, and he ended up sending three more employees out to finish the job properly. That's when I realized my great-great-grandmother's antique sewing machine and sewing cabinet NEVER came off the truck. Not only did Chris -- the only competent mover from day one -- verify with me that those items had been loaded onto the truck, but I PERSONALLY watched them load the sewing machine and cabinet myself. It was one of the last items loaded before they left Killeen. So where exactly did my property go during those mysterious four hours? Before the day-two crew left, all three employees confirmed with the office that my sewing machine and cabinet were in the company warehouse. In other words: the company admitted they had my property. Then the office called AGAIN demanding payment before returning all of my belongings. I told them very clearly: the job is NOT complete until ALL of my property is returned. Things escalated further when Travis later called me back. During that conversation, he admitted on a RECORDED LINE that they had my sewing machine and cabinet. He then tried demanding payment because, according to him, "the job was complete." No, it wasn't. A move is not complete when a company is still holding a customer's antique family heirloom. I asked for a very reasonable $200 discount considering this disaster took over 15 hours across two days for a move that my nephew and one other person completed in under four hours the year before. Instead of handling this professionally, Travis became hostile. He informed me that his employees had VIDEO taken on my private property during the move while I was drinking wine in my own home after being pushed to my limits by this experience. He then proceeded to call me an alcoholic. Excuse me? What I do in my own home while PAYING YOUR COMPANY is none of your business. Even worse, this means employees were illegally recording on my property where THREE MINORS were present in bathing suits. One of the movers -- who stated he was 16 years old and supposedly "experienced" -- also asked for the phone number of a 15-year-old girl in my home, making my family extremely uncomfortable. After refusing my request for a small discount, Travis suddenly changed his story and claimed they no longer had my sewing machine -- despite previously admitting on a recorded line that they did. He then threatened to have me arrested for nonpayment. For the record: I repeatedly stated I was willing to pay WHEN THE JOB WAS COMPLETE AND MY PROPERTY WAS RETURNED. He even called Cedar Park PD over this situation. I have since filed: * A police report * A BBB complaint * Written complaints via text and email As of today, the company has stopped responding entirely. Also, I was NOT alone during any of this. I had FOUR other adults present at different points throughout this move who personally witnessed the behavior, delays, missing property issues, unloading problems, payment harassment, and overall unprofessional conduct. And honestly, the fact that they are no longer even asking for payment says everything. Apparently keeping my great-great-grandmother's sewing machine matters more to them than collecting their bill. Would never recommend... please take the time to review the 1 star ratings. I hired ChubbyFit Movers for an interstate move from TX to IL. The company packed, transported, and delivered my household goods. Unfortunately, multiple items arrived damaged after being packed by their crew. The damage was not minor cosmetic wear, but broken and unusable items consistent with improper packing and handling. Two people left mid unpack at our destination because they were told it would be a 3 hour unpack. When I submitted a formal claim with documentation and photos, the company relied on the $0.60 per pound released valuation clause rather than addressing the quality of packing and handling that caused the damage. To put that in perspective: under that formula, a 100 lb item would be covered for $60 regardless of its actual replacement cost. Their "good faith" resolution offer for documented damages was $500. I understand valuation limitations are common in the moving industry. However, customers should be aware that if you do not purchase Full Value Protection, you may receive only minimal compensation even when the mover performs the packing and damage occurs. This was pure negligence and failure to uphold their end of the contract. If you are considering this company, I strongly recommend: * Carefully reviewing valuation options * Understanding the difference between Released Value and Full Value Protection * Documenting every item at pickup and delivery * Budgeting for the higher protection option Interstate moves are expensive and stressful. Movers called at scheduled time to report they were heading to agreed location. Once they arrived we were notified that they charge $300 for an elevator charge or we could pay an additional 100 per flight of stairs. We were on third floor so we wanted to make it as easy and as quick as possible. Upon check out we were also informed we would have to pay an extra hour for drive time to and from our location at an apartment next to Scott and White. Movers were efficient and clean but total charge was $500 more than we anticipated due to hidden fees not disclosed at booking. read more

HI my name is Brandon. I used this company today 19 May. We had an appointment from 8-10 am. They showed up at 1pm. They were legit or one of them was smelling of alcohol. They half ass wrapped my furniture. When I say this company is totally un professional . They would have a PHD on showing you not to run a company. To make matters worse when they pack up your things they will have you sign a contract before they work. What that is for once they packed and move to the next site ie storage unit or where you need to move they will upsell you one what they call driving time. This will not be in the contract they have that you pay 100 dollars to make an appointment. I know they will say or reply I am disgruntled. But what they tried with me was when we got to my storage unit they basically said they would give me a discount or work with me if I give them a 5 star ratings. I beg anyone who reads this let this make you run from this company. I believe in karma. This company upscaled me over 200 extra dollars and it was nothing I could do because I was rushing to move out.. Anyone again please do not use this disrepectful company. So I called and spoke with Matt told him my situation and what I did. Gave me an estimate over the phone. He was able to get out quickly. The whole crew that came out Matt, Bethany, Raul and Ben. Were there when they said they'd be there was quick and efficient. Protected everything. Took the utmost care with the handling of all the furniture. It was pretty heavy furniture to. They wrapped and loaded everything. I couldn't recommend them enough. They moved my belongings from My two story 4-bed house in Temple, Texas to a storage unit. read more
