This is a place that really cares about your dog. Wonderful and caring people.

This is a very caring place for your dog. Wonderful and caring people. If you board your dog here there is someone always on the premise.

This pick of Raya and her pack friends was sent to us by Gabe during one of her visits.

Our dog Raya, has been going to Pack Mentality since it opened. We would bring our her a couple times a month to give the opportunity to socialize instead of being home alone all day. Initially, our attraction to the location was that it was clean and close to home- that remains true. However, today I realized just how much I appreciate the love and care the staff provides to our dog. Today was Raya's first visit since March (I was working from home due to COVID-19). As I pulled into the parking lot, she was clearly excited. When I opened the car door she ran straight to the owner , Gabe who had stepped outside...I didn't even have the chance to leash her. I'm so grateful to Gabe and his team for caring for Raya the way they do. I will be sure not to let so much time to go by before Raya sees her pack again!

Our dog loves to spend the day there with her K9 friends. She actually looks to go every morning. She goes 2-3 times a week, full or half days based on our schedule. The owners take excellent care of her. She is a very picky dog when it comes to humans, and she loves the team at Pack Mentality.

From the beginning it was clear that she has a deep understanding of dogs and brings a calm, confident, and professional approach to everything she does. My dog Kane completed a training program with her, and I was extremely impressed with the experience and the results. Nancy takes the time to truly understand each dog and provides the kind of structure, guidance, and consistency that helps dogs thrive. Since then, Nancy has also become my trusted go-to whenever I travel. Knowing Kane is in her care gives me tremendous peace of mind. He always comes home happy, relaxed, and well cared for. What really sets Nancy apart is the level of attention and personalization she provides. This isn't a typical boarding situation -- she genuinely gets to know the dogs she works with and creates a thoughtful, structured environment for them. Nancy is trustworthy, caring, extremely knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what she does. I'm very grateful I found her and would recommend Know Your Dog Training without hesitation to anyone looking for a skilled trainer or a safe, reliable place for their dog while they're away.

Having a city dog isn't easy -- our 4-year-old Wheaten Terrier (female) has tons of energy, a stubborn streak, and some anxiety and reactivity issues around other dogs. We were looking for help with leash training and overall confidence, and Nancy was the perfect fit. From the very first interaction, Nancy was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. She clearly loves what she does and cares deeply about every dog she works with. I enrolled our pup in a month-long board-and-train program while I was getting married, and Nancy made the experience completely stress-free. She stayed in constant communication, sending regular updates, photos, and videos that showed the progress and the specific behaviors being worked on -- plus advice for us as owners to reinforce at home. When our dog came back, the difference was night and day. She's calmer, more responsive, and walks beautifully on a leash with far fewer distractions. Her reactivity around other dogs has improved dramatically, and she seems much more confident overall. Even after the program ended, Nancy went above and beyond -- she included additional follow-up lessons at no cost and still checks in to see how things are going. Her board-and-train setup is amazing too: the dogs aren't kept in kennels but get to enjoy the outdoors, sunshine, and plenty of attention and enrichment. I can't recommend Know Your Dog and Nancy enough for anyone looking for dog training, board-and-train programs, or boarding with a personal touch. Nancy truly changed our dog's behavior -- and our lives -- for the better.

We've tried several trainers and boarding facilities in various cities and states. We even resorted to trying a famous YouTube trainer and he came back worse and even more anxious. Typically, these expensive "board and trains" we've participated in have ended with medication recommendations and a "good luck". One final trainer recommended we try Mind Of Dog because she also wasn't able to break through. I'm so grateful we did. He's thriving and comes home exhausted. An added bonus is the people training we've received. The best part of all of it, is that he's finally getting the exercise and structure he's always needed and deserves. They handle the dogs calmly, but with lots of structure and clear boundaries, which our dog desperately needs. We can finally go to work and travel without worrying that he's being mishandled or ignored. We're so grateful to have found this place and I have to admit, I was waiting for him to fail again, because we had lost all hope. I highly recommend that you give Mind Of Dog a shot, especially if you're in a similar position as we were. Thanks, Mind of Dog! Senna loves you all and is so grateful to be able to play with dogs without fear and anxiety.

The Peaks Pet Nanny - Dependable Pet Sitting and Overnight Care

To anyone in need of a professional dog walker, I highly recommend The Peaks Pet Nanny, a…read morefamily-owned and operated business providing various services for dogs and cats. Over the years, I've used different dog walkers on several occasions when I could not walk my dog. I feel the way most dog owners feel: my dog is a part of my family. He's like my child, and I am cautious with who takes him out of my home and walks him. Before I decide, I "do my homework," consider all of the options and select the best one. In this case, The Peaks Pet Nanny was hands down the company that met all of my criteria. Additionally, they were highly recommended to me by a friend of mine and one of their long-term customers. On my first phone call to The Peaks Pet Nanny, I spoke with Gina, who owns the business with her husband, Patric. During our conversation, she answered all of my questions. I found her to be bright, articulate, knowledgeable, and professional. In less than half an hour, I had a schedule worked out. She transmitted me all the necessary paperwork and advised me she would call me with the information on the dog walker they were arranging for me. Shortly after that, Gina called me and told me about who would be walking my dog. Within a minute of her scheduled time of arrival, the walker, a wonderful young woman named Olivia, appeared at my front door. Olivia is an experienced dog walker who is kind, compassionate, and the most punctual individual I've ever met. In the month that I've used the service, Olivia has never been more than three or four minutes late. When my dog sees her, he goes crazy. It's the happiest time of his day. He leaves with his tail wagging and returns smiling, panting, and tired. Exactly what we were looking for. Recently Olivia took a much-needed vacation for a few days. I made a phone call to Patric. Within half an hour, he provided me with a substitute walker, Debbie, another experienced dog walker who lives within walking distance of my home and who, like Olivia, is kind, compassionate, and professional. On Debbie's first day, Patric called me to confirm that everything worked out, and I was satisfied with the temporary arrangements, which of course, I was. Once again, I highly recommend using The Peaks Nanny for dog walking and for any of the variety of services they offer pet owners. They are professional, efficient, go above and beyond to satisfy and be responsive to their customer's needs.

Unfortunately, we had such a bad experience we cannot recommend them, nor will we use them again…read more Our cats were picked up, and we noticed that the one was on the top shelf surrounded by old dried up poop. She was also wet underneath. This was pointed out to staff who had no answer or explanation for why she was up there, nor for how long. This cat cannot jump that high as she's elderly and has a couple of underlying health issues. Upon returning home, within one day, she began vomiting and having diarrhea all over the basement and herself. We immediately brought her to our vet, who had to keep her for three nights. She was severely dehydrated, developed a kidney infection, and her bowels were swollen and inflamed. This visit with the Cat Chalet turned into a close to $2500 expense as a result of what they charged, in addition to our vet hospital bill. What we have ascertained is that someone likely placed her on the top shelf, and she couldn't get down on her own; so she didn't eat or drink, and was forced to soil herself and the shelf she was sitting on. If staff were paying attention, they should have/would have noticed she was up there for several days, and should have been concerned about her food and water intake. Even if this were just a result of stress (this was the first time this has happened and she'd been there before), we should have been notified if she weren't eating or drinking. She was noticeably lighter when we picked her up as well, so there is also weight loss on a cat who cannot afford to lose any more muscle mass. We are so upset, disappointed, and generally very angry that this happened. In the future, we will be scheduling someone we know and trust to stay in our home to take care of them - we just cannot trust this place to take proper care of our cats, and after this experience, will never bring them out to be boarded again.

Chris has set the bar incredibly high and we feel very safe using him. You cannot find his price point, impeccable customer service, trustworthiness and dry humor anywhere else if you searched up and down the tristate area. Most importantly: our two large shepherds are obsessed with him. Chris is tenured, over communicates and pays close attention to detail. There is no one else I'd recommend servicing the Morris county and surrounding areas to take care of your babes while you are away or in a pinch. If you like detail, grab your coffee and read on: Family Dynamic: Nala: Pure Bred German Shepherd, 90 pounds, 4 years old Arlo: (Rescue) German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees/Husky mix, 1 1/2 years old Sardine: Domestic long hair, prince, 2 years old The only way to begin this review is by starting with Arlo, who is the sole reason our household feels like chaos. Now controlled chaos with the help of Chris, but chaos nonetheless. I rescued Arlo after losing my picture perfect 5 year old pure bred German shepherd to cancer. My thought was by rescuing a puppy I can train unwanted or learned behaviors and it wouldn't have any trauma. Not the case, and I learned the hard way that a dog with separation anxiety requires compromising efforts to ensure your dog is not distressed 24/7, otherwise your cortisol will be through the roof. I adopted Arlo when working remotely and spent 4 hours daily for the first 8 months training on a strict schedule. He's trained. He can come, heal, stay, go to place, sit, down, spin, speak, touch, lay chill, quiet- the list goes on. He simply chooses not to. No amount of leadership, high reward treat or toy will capture his attention span longer than maybe one minute. He's a healthy blend between Beethoven, the golden retriever from Disney's UP!, and dennis the menace. Nothing but a huge ball of love that doesn't know his size, Arlo can easily buckle the knees of a 200 pound man or accidentally knock grandma down requiring a hip replacement. We have two dogs actively fighting to be the alpha on a daily basis, and a mischievous cat who likes to instigate play. If unsupervised, it's tom and jerry, except the cat is the one chasing the dogs not realizing it's like playing Russian roulette with the jaw of Fur missile- but I digress. After exhausting trial and error efforts we have a routine down to a science that works. Any change in the routine shakes things up. This made traveling or extended day plans an anxiety driven nightmare because we had no solution. Friendly reminder when you have two 90 pound working dogs, you can't just ask the neighbor or family to watch them. Before using Chris, I utilized two different highly reviewed kennels for travel. The first Kennel experience: Arlo was returned to me walking on 3 legs, yelping in pain that required $800 X-rays. The second Kennel experience: Arlo was returned to me with HPV virus and warts all over his mouth (absolutely disgusting) and kennel cough that cost me $500. (All of which pet insurance did not cover, which on a side topic is a complete and utter scam.) Fast forward to now: We can travel, not have to worry and finally enjoy ourselves. Our dogs routine is much different than the average, but it works for us and Chris just gets it. When we are away he stops by our home 4-6 times depending on the weather. He gives us detailed updates, photos, and a sense of relief. The most refreshing part is that we trust him to make the judgement calls when we are away and don't ever have to think twice or worry. Review kicker: After two years of business we've built a strong relationship with chris. While we were traveling earlier this year, I texted him saying: "Nalas birthday is tomorrow. I cannot believe we are traveling on such an important day. Can you sing to her to make her feel loved.' "If you want her ears to bleed, I sure can." I genuinely thought this was where this conversation would end. Until I received an unexpected VIDEO of Chris singing happy birthday to Nala with a puppy crown on, a pumpkin bday cake and a lit birthday candle. Are you kidding me? Trust me when I say Chris is WAY too busy with too many clients to be running around buying gifts because someone sarcastically asked him to sing happy birthday. He did that because he loves Nala like his own, and we love him for it! Thank you A Pets Tale for making our life simpler and more enjoyable with the help of your services. We will continue to recommend you as long as you are in business. - Mother of Dooblani's
