Cleo loves going to Camp Bow wow

We love camp bow wow the staff is very friendly and treats our fur baby like their own. We have used camp bow wow for boarding training and just as a daycare. We only trust Camp Bow wow to look after our Aussie!

Our pup LOVES Camp Bow Wow. She's been going since we got her and she loves it. The staff knows her and treats her so well. We are so happy we found it.

Uneven hair on the side of the dogs body

I took my 7 pound Pomeranian to Camp Bow Wow last week for the first time to be groomed. My husband picked the dog up from the groomer and of course did not even look at the haircut. This was the worst grooming she has ever received and it cost us $75. The hair was uneven all over the body, clumps of hair stuck out on her belly on her chest and from her side. I immediately called the facility and told them then I was very unhappy and would email them some photos. The next day I was notified by the manager that they didn't think the haircut was bad enough to issue a refund. We were visiting friends for a few days and do not live in the area to allow for them to fix the grooming. There is no way an experienced Groomer gave my poor dog this terrible haircut. I would strongly recommend going somewhere else to have your dog groomed. Very unprofessional

We have had nothing but good experiences here. The fact that when we say 'Camp Bow Wow' in the house and my Lab gets super excited says a lot! When we get to the parking lot, he drags me inside and can't wait to see his friends as well as make new ones. The staff are all polite/professional. We liked our experiences so much that we referred a friend who is now a customer of this location. We will also plan to take advantage of some training in the near future.

Another scab near her leg

This facility was appealing to me because of the amount of cameras and the fact the pups are always supervised. I enjoy watching my pup hang out with the other dogs and get attention from the employees in the pen. On 11/18 I took my dog for a spa day and day care and paid extra for a deshedding treatment. I spoke to the groomer on my way to the facility and she only had positive things to say about how the bath and treatment went. I paid, picked up my dog and left. The next day my pup growled at me while I was petting her! I felt a slight bump and thought maybe it was a bug bite or something because she seemed fine! A couple days pass and I'm petting her again in the same area and it was scabbed but there were several of these bumpy spots all over her body!!! Now that it's been a couple days and she's not as sensitive and is allowing me to touch her but it pains me to think I paid for this service and they essentially tortured her! This is extremely upsetting! The day care side of this business seems fine and I can watch her the entire time but the grooming side has left me very uncomfortable. Update on 12/4/2020: After I posted this review Jen from CBW called to say she reviewed the security tape and that the groomer did not abuse my dog and invited me to go watch. Jen also claimed that my dog may be having an allergic reaction- we took out girl to the vet who diagnosed her with furunculosis which is a bacterial infection that happens when the groomer doesn't disinfect their tools and brushes ect and brushes them rough against the follicle that it's exposed and then becomes infected. (This is the first time she was groomed as she has short hair) My poor dog got a shot at the vets office and must now take a 28 day cycle of antibiotics and use a special medicated shampoo that I have to give her a bath with until this clears up. We are out about $400 because they can't keep their tools clean! (Ya know we are in a pandemic and they can't keep tools clean?!) My dog has so many scabs on her back and is still very uncomfortable and itchy. She is a very affectionate pup and loves to be scratched but we are being very careful not to cause her any pain. If you love your pups- don't bring them to CBW to be groomed.

Canine Concierge

We've been using Canine Concierge since just after they opened (mainly because of a bad experience…read moreat a kennel) and we would never consider another option for our dogs. It's important to us to be able to have the dogs stay at home when we're away so having someone come to the house is absolutely incredible. Lauren and her staff have always been great with our dogs and even when something hasn't 'gone well' (let's just say intestinal distress) they've been great about cleaning up and contacting us. It's also great that since they come to our house instead of boarding the dogs we kind of get a built in house sitter too-not that there's any reason to break in (besides, the dogs would love a chance to sic balls). If you're tired of boarding your dogs and live in the Morris County area I wholeheartedly recommend Canine Concierge. Your pets will be well cared for and won't be so stressed when you come home. I envy Lauren and her business...sometimes I wish I could spend each day just taking care of dogs...

We found Lauren and could NOT be happier with her service!! Updates daily, our Joey got to play and go on walks every day, we were afraid he wouldn't want to come home! I would recommend Lauren and Canine Concierge to anyone. Please note she prefers smaller dogs (under 35-40 lbs) but she is very amenable and flexible.

If you like short and to the point:…read more Your search stops here. A Pets Tale is the only pet care service you will need moving forward and certainly the only one you will seek out. Chris has set the bar incredibly high and we feel very safe using him. You cannot find his price point, impeccable customer service, trustworthiness and dry humor anywhere else if you searched up and down the tristate area. Most importantly: our two large shepherds are obsessed with him. Chris is tenured, over communicates and pays close attention to detail. There is no one else I'd recommend servicing the Morris county and surrounding areas to take care of your babes while you are away or in a pinch. If you like detail, grab your coffee and read on: Family Dynamic: Nala: Pure Bred German Shepherd, 90 pounds, 4 years old Arlo: (Rescue) German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees/Husky mix, 1 1/2 years old Sardine: Domestic long hair, prince, 2 years old The only way to begin this review is by starting with Arlo, who is the sole reason our household feels like chaos. Now controlled chaos with the help of Chris, but chaos nonetheless. I rescued Arlo after losing my picture perfect 5 year old pure bred German shepherd to cancer. My thought was by rescuing a puppy I can train unwanted or learned behaviors and it wouldn't have any trauma. Not the case, and I learned the hard way that a dog with separation anxiety requires compromising efforts to ensure your dog is not distressed 24/7, otherwise your cortisol will be through the roof. I adopted Arlo when working remotely and spent 4 hours daily for the first 8 months training on a strict schedule. He's trained. He can come, heal, stay, go to place, sit, down, spin, speak, touch, lay chill, quiet- the list goes on. He simply chooses not to. No amount of leadership, high reward treat or toy will capture his attention span longer than maybe one minute. He's a healthy blend between Beethoven, the golden retriever from Disney's UP!, and dennis the menace. Nothing but a huge ball of love that doesn't know his size, Arlo can easily buckle the knees of a 200 pound man or accidentally knock grandma down requiring a hip replacement. We have two dogs actively fighting to be the alpha on a daily basis, and a mischievous cat who likes to instigate play. If unsupervised, it's tom and jerry, except the cat is the one chasing the dogs not realizing it's like playing Russian roulette with the jaw of Fur missile- but I digress. After exhausting trial and error efforts we have a routine down to a science that works. Any change in the routine shakes things up. This made traveling or extended day plans an anxiety driven nightmare because we had no solution. Friendly reminder when you have two 90 pound working dogs, you can't just ask the neighbor or family to watch them. Before using Chris, I utilized two different highly reviewed kennels for travel. The first Kennel experience: Arlo was returned to me walking on 3 legs, yelping in pain that required $800 X-rays. The second Kennel experience: Arlo was returned to me with HPV virus and warts all over his mouth (absolutely disgusting) and kennel cough that cost me $500. (All of which pet insurance did not cover, which on a side topic is a complete and utter scam.) Fast forward to now: We can travel, not have to worry and finally enjoy ourselves. Our dogs routine is much different than the average, but it works for us and Chris just gets it. When we are away he stops by our home 4-6 times depending on the weather. He gives us detailed updates, photos, and a sense of relief. The most refreshing part is that we trust him to make the judgement calls when we are away and don't ever have to think twice or worry. Review kicker: After two years of business we've built a strong relationship with chris. While we were traveling earlier this year, I texted him saying: "Nalas birthday is tomorrow. I cannot believe we are traveling on such an important day. Can you sing to her to make her feel loved.' "If you want her ears to bleed, I sure can." I genuinely thought this was where this conversation would end. Until I received an unexpected VIDEO of Chris singing happy birthday to Nala with a puppy crown on, a pumpkin bday cake and a lit birthday candle. Are you kidding me? Trust me when I say Chris is WAY too busy with too many clients to be running around buying gifts because someone sarcastically asked him to sing happy birthday. He did that because he loves Nala like his own, and we love him for it! Thank you A Pets Tale for making our life simpler and more enjoyable with the help of your services. We will continue to recommend you as long as you are in business. - Mother of Dooblani's

We've tried several trainers and boarding facilities in various cities and states. We even resorted to trying a famous YouTube trainer and he came back worse and even more anxious. Typically, these expensive "board and trains" we've participated in have ended with medication recommendations and a "good luck". One final trainer recommended we try Mind Of Dog because she also wasn't able to break through. I'm so grateful we did. He's thriving and comes home exhausted. An added bonus is the people training we've received. The best part of all of it, is that he's finally getting the exercise and structure he's always needed and deserves. They handle the dogs calmly, but with lots of structure and clear boundaries, which our dog desperately needs. We can finally go to work and travel without worrying that he's being mishandled or ignored. We're so grateful to have found this place and I have to admit, I was waiting for him to fail again, because we had lost all hope. I highly recommend that you give Mind Of Dog a shot, especially if you're in a similar position as we were. Thanks, Mind of Dog! Senna loves you all and is so grateful to be able to play with dogs without fear and anxiety.

She was also wet underneath. This was pointed out to staff who had no answer or explanation for why she was up there, nor for how long. This cat cannot jump that high as she's elderly and has a couple of underlying health issues. Upon returning home, within one day, she began vomiting and having diarrhea all over the basement and herself. We immediately brought her to our vet, who had to keep her for three nights. She was severely dehydrated, developed a kidney infection, and her bowels were swollen and inflamed. This visit with the Cat Chalet turned into a close to $2500 expense as a result of what they charged, in addition to our vet hospital bill. What we have ascertained is that someone likely placed her on the top shelf, and she couldn't get down on her own; so she didn't eat or drink, and was forced to soil herself and the shelf she was sitting on. If staff were paying attention, they should have/would have noticed she was up there for several days, and should have been concerned about her food and water intake. Even if this were just a result of stress (this was the first time this has happened and she'd been there before), we should have been notified if she weren't eating or drinking. She was noticeably lighter when we picked her up as well, so there is also weight loss on a cat who cannot afford to lose any more muscle mass. We are so upset, disappointed, and generally very angry that this happened. In the future, we will be scheduling someone we know and trust to stay in our home to take care of them - we just cannot trust this place to take proper care of our cats, and after this experience, will never bring them out to be boarded again.
