They handle the dogs calmly, but with lots of structure and clear boundaries, which our dog desperately needs. The gag is Petco is ALSO owned by private equity but I imagine its large portfolio of stores makes cheap vaccines possible. For a neighborhood vet, it just ruins everything. ::throws phone:: I googled low cost clinics and found out that Petco does them. I needed an appointment soon so my son could go to daycare next week while I'm onsite at work. This was the only location where I could get in before next week. Been in NJ 35 years and never heard of this town. But, at $195 for ALL his shots and heartworm test without a mandatory exam (that's how the vet gets you), I embraced the hour long road trip. The setup: -Book the appointment online at the Petco website -Store is in a strip mall - vax clinic is on the left past the registers. -The providers get on the floor with your dog, talk sweetly to them, and work efficiently. Heartworm results come back in 10 minutes. Pros: -Easy booking, low stress, clear communication -Summary of services, Rx, and rabies vaccine emailed to you during the visit -You do not have to book a vet exam to be vaccinated Possible Cons: -This is a store with people and pets. If your pet is antsy you may want to book during the week rather than on a weekend to minimize distractions and anxiety. ---------- Great experience! Get the jab! We don't need billionaires! Since moving to this area and visiting this store...I've been disappointed each time! Especially when trying to schedule a grooming session for my dog. It got so bad, that I decided to drive 1.5 hours to my previous store and let them perform her grooming, because I lost confidence in this store and couldn't risk my dog being neglected during her grooming session. Definitely ZERO STARS for service from the top to the bottom of their staff. The place feels abandoned and appears the workers don't want to be there. I've taken my business for food purchases/supplies to the Pet Goods store across the street and for the grooming, I'm taking my dog to Shower Your Pet Spa.

We missed her but we knew she was in excellent care and learning so much everyday. After the 2 week bootcamp, Linda brought Millie home and we were in shock at how well-behaved, and well-mannered suddenly became. The day she came home, Linda spent over an hour with us going over what Millie learned and how to work with her going forward. She also gave us a full document with an assessment of Millie's overall behavior, how to continue to enforce what she learned, and how encourage her along the way.  Before bootcamp, we dreaded going for a walk with Millie because of how she behaved when she saw other dogs (pulling toward them, whimpering, getting anxious, etc.), and how she walked in general (tugging and zig-zagging the entire walk). Now she walks like an absolute DREAM! Right at our side, a nice little trot, ignores other dogs, people, squirrels - everything! We could walk her all day long now, and we look forward to all our walks! Millie used to ignore us when we called for her, or told her "no" if she was doing something we didn't like, but now her recall skills are excellent and she runs right over to us when we call her. She doesn't even try to attempt the bad behavior she used to do, like jumping, getting mouthy, etc., and instead happily relaxes. Her overall demeanor used to be just a little bit intense, always on the lookout for something to get into - but now she is so calm and seems at east with herself. Linda worked WONDERS! We learned so much about Millie through this process, and we truly feel comfortable with what Linda taught us to help Millie be her best self.
