This…read morewas our first boarding experience, so we were understandably a bit nervous, but Moe and Elodie quickly put us at ease. They were professional and provided timely responses to all of our questions. While we were out of town, they regularly sent us photos and updates so we knew Sami was well taken care of. And Leila was such a gracious host to share her home for a long weekend. Can't recommended them enough. So glad we found them. We'll definitely be using Leila Knows Best the next time we travel.

I wish there were more stars to give on this review for Leila Knows Best!…read more My Sansa is a 10 month old Soft Coated Wheaten terrier. The breed is known to be highly intelligent. Her trainer tells me that she is very stubborn with extremely high energy. She is also rebellious and constantly pushing boundaries to see what she can get away with. And I adore her. Sansa was badly injured by her first groomer at age 14 weeks, and had to have emergency surgery, plus 6 weeks of heavy sedation so she could recover. As a result she is now anxious all the time. She is jumpy and scared and ready to bite the hand that wants to leash her-mine! I had left her with a dog sitter for a weekend in September and then reserved the same sitter for the first week of November. I think that the sitter was too polite to tell me that she didn't want to deal with my Cujo-style dog. She called about 12 hours before she was supposed to show up and backed out. I am glad she did because that lead me to Elodie and Moe-"Leila Knows Best", who are THE PERFECT dog sitters. They treated Sansa like she was their own. I know how disruptive she can be, yet they never complained. She was genuinely happy there. I had to extend my trip by two nights and they accommodated her without fussing, hemming or hawing. I received several updates for the 8 days that I was away. They took her to the waterfront to play, for several walks a day and even pulled out a crate for her to sleep in because that's what she is trained to do. I didn't have to lug her crate over. Their place is spotless. They have a beautiful pooch called Leila who seems calm and well trained. Sansa clearly enjoyed her stay with aunty Elodie and Uncle Moe! To Elodie and Moe-I cannot thank you enough! I hope you'll agree to take her again. (Not soon because as Moe said-she is a dog and a half). Lol She is in puppy kindergarten now and should be much easier next time!! If you want someone you can trust with your canine baby, look no further. .

We bring our dog here about once a week to get him out of the house and let him enjoy himself…read more Today, we received a call claiming our dog had "latched" onto another dog and that staff had to use force to separate them. Our dog was raised by professional trainers from a young age, is highly socialized, and has never shown aggression toward another dog. When we arrived to pick him up, we waited over 30 minutes to view the footage of the incident. After the delay, we were told the video "couldn't be played," leaving us no option but to blindly accept their version of events. Staff then admitted they struck our dog with a broomstick and punched him with a closed fist--yet somehow, the other dog had no injuries whatsoever. No marks. No blood. Nothing. That explanation simply doesn't add up. If a strong dog were truly latched onto another and couldn't be pulled off, there would be visible evidence of an injury. To make matters worse, they also admitted that the two dogs were already known not to get along, yet they still allowed them to be together. This shows a complete lack of judgment and responsibility on their part. What's most disturbing is not just the incident itself, but the refusal to provide transparency while openly admitting to using physical violence against a client's dog after knowingly placing him in a bad situation. If I were you, I would think very carefully before bringing your dog here. You may have a normal experience--or you may be the one they decide to handle with force and deny accountability afterward.

Brandi & Perry were amazing! Highly recommend working with them…read more We adopted a one year old mixed breed, Tuck, a few months ago. He's very sweet but started to get rambunctious to the point that my remote work felt challenging. He also started jumping or freezing when he saw other dogs on walks, and he occasionally barked or growled and men. We weren't sure if it was the start of aggressive behavior or just the result of a shelter dog that hasn't been exposed. After doing our research, we decided to do the 3 week behavior modification board and train program. We were really impressed from beginning to end. They shared a ton of information upfront, walked us through their facility (we opted to drop him off) and sent pictures and updates every evening. It became clear right away that they both have a very deep understanding of dogs, as well as a real respect and love for them. Tuck loved them! The best part was the "transition" day when Perry brought Tuck back and spent the day teaching us everything they've worked on together. We are first time dog owners so generally going in pretty blind. Perry gave us a 101 on dogs and the importance of clear and consistent communication. He talked through all of the layers of training and how/why it is effective. We felt this part was SO helpful for us to understand how to be better owners. Then we walked Tuck around the neighborhood with Perry guiding us and then spent time addressing indoor behaviors too. He was flexible and stayed until we felt comfortable with everything. This is a long review so the TLDR: finding a trainer is a big decision and investment so we wanted to get it right. Brandi & Perry were really incredible and beyond our expectations!! Truly worth every penny! Tuck has been doing really great at home and outside since being home. I've been able to work full days with him holding "place" on his cot, which would have been unheard of before!

From the very first interaction, Kenny and Sarah were professional, warm, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They took the time to understand the pain points that we were experiencing with our new puppy, Theo's personality and tailored their approach to fit him perfectly. I was overseas on vacation, but they shared the progress and transformation pictures and updates every day. Theo is more confident, focused, and responsive than ever. What really impressed me with Ridgeside K9 apart is the care and dedication that Kenny and Sarah brought to the 3-week transformation and the dedicated work with him. It was easy to tell this isn't just a job for them -- they truly love working with dogs and it shows in the results. Theo came home happy, well-behaved, and I could tell during the 2 hour turnover session that Theo had clearly bonded with his trainers. If you're in the Winchester and surrounding area and looking for exceptional dog training, look no further than Ridgeside K9. Ask for Kenny and Sarah -- you and your pup won't be disappointed!
